Different, good.

Little Man being Erased 05-23-2007 01:57 AM

SixFtHick - Chicken

These guys are sexed up punk from Aus. The album doesn't quite live up to the energy of their live show but it's great anyway.

Boilermaker 05-23-2007 05:07 AM

Meat Puppets - II

http://www.somervilleartscouncil.org/programs/artbeat/2003/images/apollosunshine.jpg

Battles - Mirrored

Bukowski 05-23-2007 11:34 AM

^^ nice avatar, dude

Kinski - Alpine Static
Shellac - Terraform

AlienEater 05-23-2007 11:40 AM

how is that kinski album? i had an inclination to check them out but i never did

Bukowski 05-23-2007 11:53 AM

It's cool. Lots of cool guitar effects. It can go from some fairly normal, steady riff-based music into the most druggy, spaced out guitar sections. This is my first time listening to the band, so I'm still kind of undecided about how great it is - but yes, it's great. Kinski als did a collaberation with the Acid Mothers Temple, which I'm getting just now.

I still haven't heard anything by Acid Mothers Temple, so this will hopefully inspire me to check them out as well.

perriwinkle 05-23-2007 01:26 PM

a user on the other forum i frequent posted this song of his and i loved it

Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga

What a terrific, terrific album and probably their best as well (I still haven't heard A Series of Sneaks). I just got it yesterday and it's already one of my favorites of '07.

Bukowski: Acid Mothers Temple have some awesome stuff. You'd probably like. I can't remember which albums are best, they have so many

perriwinkle: did you have to post the exact same thing twice?

Happymeal 05-23-2007 04:10 PM

Obviously there's no such thing as too much attention.

Bukowski 05-23-2007 04:49 PM
How is this? It's the only Shellac album that I don't have.
It's not as good as the 2 main ones, but has some sweet sh;t. Hopefully the new one will be good.

Richard Youngs - Sapphie

This is one of the most hauntingly desolate albums I've ever heard. Absolutely beautiful music.

I think Hive Mind is pretty much the onlyt no-wave band I dislike. And I've heard just about all of them. I consider Konk, ESG, and Liquid Liquid no wave though.
