G'day everybody! Hope you all feel better than me... my left shoulder is tied up in a knot and so far two muscle relaxers have failed to work...
Icy hot

Wintermute 10-22-2004 10:47 AM
2:41 AM.

If I want to wake up at 11 30 AM with some decent sleep, I guess that means I'll need 7 hours. So bed at 4 30 AM it looks like.
Still awake...

Some friends of mine tried to do a sponsored stay-awake, but they crashed out after the last of them broke his coffee cup by putting it down on a table that didn't actually exist. Then he collapsed.

gaslight 10-22-2004 10:48 AM

Well, I had that power nap from 12 PM to 3 PM.

It's not that I'm trying to stay awake, I just don't know what to do with myself .

Wintermute 10-22-2004 10:49 AM

I was talking about me. I also had an all nighter, and it's not over yet.

gaslight 10-22-2004 10:52 AM

Hehe OH!

Now I get it.

How long are you on then, past 24 hours?

Wintermute 10-22-2004 10:54 AM

34 hours since I got up, more or less. I was lagging for a bit, but I put on some lively music, loud, and woke up.

gaslight 10-22-2004 10:56 AM

That's certainly better than any of my records that I can think of.

Espbassor 10-22-2004 10:57 AM

My friend stayed up for like..3-4 days (i can't remember exactly how long) but you shouldn't do it, as its not good for your mental well being..

Wintermute 10-22-2004 10:58 AM

The world record is about 11 days. The record holder is now an asylum inmate. The occasional one nighter is ok though.

Espbassor 10-22-2004 10:59 AM

^ Yeah, thats fine, just like...going beyound that you increase your risk of mental unhealthiness

gaslight 10-22-2004 11:01 AM

So he like, wrecked his brain? gg.

Yeah, staying up for ages is fun sometimes, occassionally neccessary.

I love how you start going slightly odd when you get really tired.

Wintermute 10-22-2004 11:02 AM

I love the way if you stop concentrating on anything in particular your eyes start to unfocus and the world starts to slide sideways.

ShelBel 10-22-2004 11:04 AM

That's just sleep deprivation, Wintermute. ;)

gaslight 10-22-2004 11:05 AM

When I went to the CD store today I was still really, really drowsy.

I must have seemed so stoned.

123...

...go to sleep :p

bassist-bmxer 10-22-2004 11:08 AM

its really wierd when you are really tired and you are watching tv, cos i always get this wierd feeling almost like i'm not actually here and it kinda feels like a dream, it can be quite spooky.

Wintermute 10-22-2004 11:10 AM

What's REALLY weird is if you stay up all night in an airport listening to Tool, reading Sherlock Holmes stories and downing triple espressos.

By the time the flight started boarding I was convinced I had to move slowly, or I'd tear reality.

Espbassor 10-22-2004 11:12 AM

^^

Haha I can imagine that.

You: Careful... careful... mustn't destroy the fabric of the universe... easy... slowly.

Everyone else: :amaze:

Wintermute 10-22-2004 11:14 AM

I must have looked so dodgy... pale and shaking slightly, moving very slowly and looking paranoid.

gaslight 10-22-2004 11:15 AM

YOU'RE BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL! [/Chris from Family Guy.]

bassist-bmxer 10-22-2004 11:16 AM

I'm going to carry my laptop downstairs and see what's on.

God I love wireless networking.

Ah, Friends is on.

gaslight 10-22-2004 11:18 AM

Ah soon a laptop will be mine...

And sooner, a new bass will be mine.

Eight days is the count.

bassist-bmxer 10-22-2004 11:42 AM

Wintermute 10-22-2004 11:45 AM

gaslight 10-22-2004 11:45 AM

Yeah, the laptop I am getting will be geared towards two things; excellent soundcards and lots of hard drive space.

Wintermute 10-22-2004 11:47 AM

I've got a 160GB external hardrive, giving me a total of 200GB, as well as an Extigy soundcard external unit. (24-bit, gold plated MIDI, you name it)

gaslight 10-22-2004 11:52 AM

How much did all this set you back Winter?
