I was surprised to learn JMT is white...learn something new every day.

$10/hour is a good wage for a hs kid idk what you guys are talking about =|

I started working for like $50/day before I could legally work (lolol mexican) then I started at $6/hour and moved up to $9.30 before I eventually left.

And then my next job was $19.25. And my current job is $21. Talk about a mad wage leap.

Nostalgia 11-20-2007 10:56 AM

My sister's boyfriend wants me to help him install carpet from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. He said he'd pay $15 and hour, but those hours are crazy.

Josh 11-20-2007 10:59 AM

^^^anti-social hours, so you should get paid extra.

i get £4.68/hour, so thats about $10 i guess. i only work 2 days a week though, seeing as i'm at Uni all week, and i get the last weekend of each month off so i can go shooting.

anyway, i haven't been on here in ages, how is everyone?
i'm just finishing a report that's due in tomorrow afternoon, then i've got another one to do after that :( i really can't be bothered.

plus, i just saw on the Iron Maiden website that they're only playing one UK date next year, and i don't think i'm going to make it, as i can't afford to buy any tickets at the moment and it's over 300 miles away from me. damn.

on the other hand, i saw Motorhead and Alice Cooper 10 days ago, that was an awesome night :)

TojesDolan 11-20-2007 11:13 AM

I think we all know my $5 a day job experience.

Josh 11-20-2007 11:15 AM

no, i don't. but ouch.

Darkness 11-20-2007 11:17 AM

I get 11 bucks an hour as a line cook at a fancy restaurant, and I worked my tip outs to be about an extra $2.33 bucks an hour I get in cash every two weeks. And I work Monday-Friday 11-5. It's amazing hours with sweet work.

lul

I make $9/hr drawing on a computer and surfing the web.

Josh 11-20-2007 11:23 AM

i work for this company.
http://www.farmway.co.uk/corporate/country_stores.html
it's pretty crap really, but it pays my rent. and the staff are good to work with, just the pay and management suck.

working here was more fun.
http://www.thehollybushinn.co.uk/
i still work there occasionally, but not much any more. better pay, but i don't like working evenings any more.

the2stranger 11-20-2007 11:26 AM

I get 120 euros from the government because I'm a student. :p
Plus I earn 300 euros a month as a bonus on placement. (actually way underpayed considering I work 40 hours a week). but it's just a bonus,I could just as well not get payed, since it remains a uni placement, not a real job.

Josh 11-20-2007 11:27 AM

i get £1500/term to live off from the Student Loans Company, shame that i don't actually have enough to get me to the end of term now :(

if you don't work while you're at uni, the support you get (if you get the maximum) equates to less than a full-time minimum wage job. and you're meant to be able to buy all your course materials, pay rent and live off it.

stupid government.

the2stranger 11-20-2007 11:29 AM

A term is...3 months?

TojesDolan 11-20-2007 11:31 AM

if I get to put ny shiz together I could get a maintainance scholarship in Germany

yeh

Josh 11-20-2007 11:33 AM
A term is...3 months?
just over, yeh. but i pay £200/month rent, and have to pay for phone, internet, cable, water, electric and gas, which is pretty crap, as it leaves not much to live off.

I can imagine.
I live with my folks, so I don't need to pay any of that.
The money I earn is just for fun purposes.

TojesDolan 11-20-2007 11:37 AM

Sure sure, if things come along as expected I'll go to europeen lands to lol and do all kinds fun stuff with internet people. :)

lucky you. i go home at weekends to go to work, and my parents lend me a car then, so i suppose it could be worse.
plus, i spent £400 on a gun in the summer, and then about £350 - £400 since i got it on cartridges and shooting gear, so i'd be better off if it wasn't for that. so my poverty can be blamed on no-one but myself.

i remember when Jason was planning a tour of the UK, but then he never bothered.

gmoneyguy 11-20-2007 11:40 AM

I want to visit Europe so bad. I am too poor to afford it.

Josh 11-20-2007 11:41 AM

i live in Europe, the weather sucks :p

plus, climate change is going to kill us all anway.

gmoneyguy 11-20-2007 12:36 PM

Nostalgia 11-20-2007 12:39 PM

It just snowed here two days ago tbh.

the2stranger 11-20-2007 12:45 PM

It's supposed to rain during the autumn, atleast, in Europe that is.
We had rain today and we will probably have some showers the whole week.

w00t
I'm home alone right now, nothing like letting the Nadja beast out at high volume and having everything vibrate while I sink into a state of trance. :D
