Sanitarium has to be in the top songs by em- the solos make it soo gd
|
lets start a new big disscussion then...maybe that will help the thread get into something...
so im gonna start the topic of dave mustaine...I personaly love the guy and feel no hate toward him because of what happened with him and the guys in metallica, but some people hate him because of what happened. How do you guys feel bout him and what happened? |
As stated by him in SKOM:
"I wish I could go back and wake up to see you guys tell me to go to AA." Or something like that. I personally wish he would've stayed with the band. |
i liked dave when i figured out he was in megadeth, hated him after i found out what happened between him and metallica, loved him after some kind of monster and when metallica ruled the world, i never realized how extremely talented he really is and how much he influenced metallicas early style up until the black album
|
If Dave had stayed I reckon he could have written some great stuff with James, kind of a shame that couldn't work out.
|
if youve seen Some kind of Monster DVD extra footage they do a interview on him, thenlars talks to him and he gets really deeply emotional and depresive. makes ya feal sorry for him.

yeah i have the DVD and ive seen it and it really makes ya feel srry for him and i wish he was still in the band after that interview and seeing how hard he rocked |
thats my favourite part of the movie
|
I also think him and james could have written some kick *** stuff...and I also think that if he stayed around metallica would still be writing thrash right now. cuz dave's band, meagdeth, is still sortta in the 80s era last time I checked
|
If Dave had stayed I reckon he could have written some great stuff with James, kind of a shame that couldn't work out.
no, because then none of the kirk stuff would have existed. |
no, because then none of the kirk stuff would have existed.
Dave's stuff > Kirk's stuff But back to the point, what do you think we would have missed out on? |
I think it would've been cool if dave was still in metallica, but then there wouldn't be such thing as megadeth, and i like megadeth almost as much as i like metallica.
|
Dave's stuff > Kirk's stuff
But back to the point, what do you think we would have missed out on?
hmm from what i heard a couple of pages back everyone was fighting about how dave only did two songs... compared to how many of kirk's? everything good off of RTL, MOP, AJFA, Black, Load, and Reload. that's what we would have missed out on |

Yes True.. I wonder what Metallica would have been like with Mustain in there the whole time??? I think they would have certainly been heavier, and probably more old Skool.. Hears a though: Try and mix Megadeth and Tallica into one song.. Kinda like a Metallideth remix lol |

everything good off of RTL, MOP, AJFA, Black, Load, and Reload. that's what we would have missed out on
But that's mostly James' material (yes, and some of it is Dave's, I know this so no 'Deth fanboy flames). |

yes but he wouldn't have as much on the album because dave is not just a lead, kirk is just a lead. he wrote some riffs, yea, but not as much as dave wrote |

yes which would have sucked. fade to black and sanitarium are my two favorite songs along with numbers 3 and 4, Unforgiven and Nothing Else Matters |

Yes true... But would they have had Bob Rock as the producer if mustain was there i wonder. I know Mustain was a little insane, hense the reason he got the boot, I have a DVD called Dark souls.. It says in there how when he bit a friend of hetfields neck and took out a chunk the band decided it was enough.. I think Mustain unfortunatly would have broken the band up to be honest... As Jaymez said, its either he goes, or we all go! |

All of kill em all is pretty much dave's...and there was some rippin stuff on there. I think a metallica with mustaine would be like a megadeth and a metallica combined...and maybe better than that. I love kirk to death! he kicks major ****ing ***...but I think james and dave could have possibly put together something better if he had stayed in the band atleast until the 90s. |
I just reckon that together James and Dave could have written some pretty sweet riffs.
It says in there how when he bit a friend of hetfields neck and took out a chunk the band decided it was enough..
That's bull. |

look, i agree with all that stuff. but honeslty, i like the riffs and solos better with kirk. it just sounds like the collaborated more and i really like it |

Personaly I think that would have been awsome! I love 'kill em all' over every album. And you say we wouldnt have any RTL. Well mustaine helped write the song ride the lightning and ktulu. I dont think we would have missed a whole lot because mostly all kirk wrote were the solos, and mustaine can do it just as good as kirk. in a way I almost think kirk is overrated...love the guy but there are others who can do what he doe. |

That's bull.
I really dont think that ever, ever, ever happened. honesty I think thats just a rumor. (i was reffering to what you were talking about by saying it was bull) |

Didn't Dave also make up the intro riff for Ride the lightning?
oh ok.. as far as the opening riff I dont know...but if you look in the bocklet for RTL you can see under the song title(ride the lightning) that dave helped write it. |
I like Metallica more than Megadeth because they have some variation within each record. Where as Dave wrote Megadeth the other way around. Each album had a different sound, but within those albums there was little variation. I like both bands a whole lot, and Megadeth isn't far behind Metallica on my list, but I prefer the style of Metallica's albums.
A little proof is Kill Em' All. Kill Em' All sounds to me honestly like a Megadeth album with James on vox. There's not much variation within that album, it's just thrash to the max. Something tells me Dave had something to do with that. |
Didn't Dave also make up the intro riff for Ride the lightning?
Dave's riffs are used in Ride The Lightning, but I don't know where. |
he helped writing rtl and ktulu, but neither solos
|
he helped writing rtl and ktulu, but neither solos
but I bet he could have written some really good solos for that song...just listen to what he did on Kill em all. He can RIP! |
