Yeah i'm pretty sure Steve had always thought of them releasing 15 albums then quitting, but recently he said something about just seeing how it goes or whatever... They wouldn't be in their right minds to quit any time soon =\

AMOLAD does completely crush everything else out right now too! unless of course they release another album this year :amaze:
Atreyu & Slipknot

Anyway, i took a break from my AMOLAD listening to listen to 3 tracks off of SSoaSS (the prophecy, only the good die young, and clairvoyant) and to be honest it made me really sad. To know that maiden will never sound like that again :(

The Pilgrim is starting to really grow on me though, i love the 'turn water into wine' part.
Yeah but I don't like the 80's synths so I'm cool with that sound never returning.

Anyway, next money batch I'll get AMoLaD, because I couldn't decide whether get this or Amputechture. Amputechture won because I didn't buy Frances The Mute (when it was cheap ergh student lol), but I'm not feeling bad at all for choosing it. Now, when it comes to 10,000 days...

*sigh*

Quiksilver26 09-21-2006 06:20 PM

Eh, I didn't think 10,000 days was that bad... Obviously wasn't on par with Lateralus, still had some killer songs though. (if i read that correctly)

Drum Monkey 09-21-2006 09:58 PM

Hey is anyone here going to see Iron Maiden/Bullet For My Valentine on October 16 @ the ACC in Toronto?

I'm not sure where we are exactly, the guitarist bought the tickets, but it's a couple of sections down from the right side of the stage. It's not too far up either.

Quiksilver26 09-21-2006 11:40 PM

 Yeah man, first row just next to the stage on Adrian's side :D.. Fucking guy infront of me in line got the last pit tickets =\. Where are you sitting/standing?

Yea, they're in the studios finishing an album.
I'm just like praying they'll do a US tour.

Quiksilver26 09-22-2006 01:16 PM

 new Rush?!?! shit dude! I didn't even know about that. I'll just have to wait for that and see if my opinion is swayed :).

lightningmetal666 09-22-2006 01:54 PM

Has anyone gotten to listen to the new Maiden album?

I was thinking about buying it, but thought I should ask about it first.

Thunder Fingers 09-22-2006 02:31 PM

tis very good, buy it :)

Is the sound and style of the album similar to DoD or is it closer to some of their earlier albums? I've only heard one song off it which was on their website awhile ago.

All of them, seriously there are absolutely no fillers on this album.

I would say it's very Brave New World/X-Factor/7th Son of a 7th Son

Apocalypticon 09-22-2006 03:08 PM

Hmmm, might be worth it then. I'm a fan of 7th Son. And X-Factor is alright but I don't really like Brave New World. I'll download some songs and then decide if it's worth the money.

victim of changes 09-22-2006 03:08 PM

Its got the sound of DoD, songs have a different feel though than some of the last few albums they've put out

Apocalypticon 09-22-2006 03:14 PM

I haven't really enjoyed their newer albums that much. DoD just didn't do it for me, luckily I downloaded that album instead of buying it.

Does it have any songs that are a powerslave/piece of mind feel? If so I'm buying this for sure.

Mikesn 09-22-2006 03:28 PM

The Pilgram reminds me of Powerslave somewhat.

Hmmm, sounds intriguing. I might very well buy this album after all.........

Powerslave the song or the album. Either way it sounds like an interesting song.

/goes to try and download

-The Frank 09-22-2006 08:58 PM

^
Neither, the reason peopel compare it to powerslave is because of its arabian vibe durring a few of hte instrumental parts.

How so?

PepsiMetal 09-22-2006 11:36 PM

Hmm, yea this new album isn't really like their older ones. Most of these songs are epic like, they start slow, and then later gets heavy. Most of their older songs just started heavy and hard. lol. Actually this album is alot like Tool ones imo structure wise, although I like Maiden songs way better for many different reasons. It definetely doesn't sound like DoD either though, except couple of first songs.
The Pilgram reminds me of Powerslave somewhat.
Hmm, I don't see that really. The Pilgrim sounds great regardless of that though. I love the freakishly amazing guitar melodies in it. Especially the intro.

Eliminator 09-23-2006 01:19 AM

Woah, songs build up?

This is a marvel concept for Iron Maiden.

the_uber_penguin 09-23-2006 08:39 AM

Longest Day is my favourite from the album, but only just.

crag 09-23-2006 08:42 AM

BTATS or FTGGOG would probably be my favourite from the album.

Lord Abortion 09-23-2006 08:49 AM

It's all awesome

-The Frank 09-23-2006 11:22 PM

My favorites would be: TCDR, the longest day, or FTGGoG

-The Frank 09-25-2006 04:31 AM

A whole day people? Come on, post something,

Anyway, i have noticed that it is incredibly fun playing 1st person shooter WWII War Games while listening to AMOLAD.
Most in particular TCDR, TLD, and FTGGoG

Now if that doesnt get you talking, then here is Bruce backstage on the SiT tour:
