I would actually buy an iPhone if it wasn't 8GB

FunkMetalBass 05-18-2009 04:45 PM

I would actually buy an iPhone if it wasn't made by Apple, wasn't so expensive, wasn't a touch screen, and wasn't made by Apple.

FunkMetalBass 05-18-2009 04:48 PM
Yeah, that's an alright album. I love What Would He-Man Do. I wish it wasn't recorded/mixed so badly. And that their singer didn't suck.
Intestinal Fortitude won't be coming up later. And Vicuna after that.

I love how their singer is all over the place, much like Sikth and M.S.I.

Epidemechanical 05-18-2009 04:54 PM

ugh nuclear rabbit

funkmetalbass why do you like such terrible music

even dave hates NR

Epidemechanical 05-18-2009 04:55 PM

and did you seriously just compare NR to sikth

wow dude.

fatbandit 05-18-2009 04:56 PM

Their singer is all over the place in a bad way. The main singer in Sikth just has INCREDIBLE control over his voice.

Element of Surprise stuff is far better than NR for Jean Baudin's playing in a band setting.

Yeah, both the dudes from Sikth were insanely good.

There's something about the NR singer that I loved though. Then again, I like Les Claypool's voice, and occasionally Connor Oberst.

Elements of Surprise...never new that Jean Baudin played in that band. I'll have to check them out again.
and did you seriously just compare NR to sikth

 No. Taking it out of context. The two bands are nothing alike and I would take Sikth hands down because every aspect of their music is tighter, better balanced, has a purpose, and the production is infinitely better. I simply meant that their lead singer's voice is all over the spectrum. It's refreshing to hear at times, and I wish more vocalists did it.

Epidemechanical 05-18-2009 05:09 PM

umm no please stop talking nuclear rabbit's vocals are a joke

fatbandit 05-18-2009 05:23 PM

pretty much this ^

Spaceman Spiff 05-18-2009 06:55 PM

Finally started recording guitar today. Hopefully it won't take too long to complete.

It feels awesome to have my first song done.

FunkMetalBass 05-18-2009 07:08 PM

First? What happened to the other 30 million songs your band has already put out?

Epidemechanical 05-18-2009 07:14 PM

What the **** Wintermute is back?

On that note..I need new metal bands.

I love Sikth, Glassjaw, Pain of Salvation, Opeth, Necrophagist.

I hate Metallica, Cradle of Filth, Most Rock...

Any suggestions?

Spaceman Spiff 05-18-2009 09:11 PM

Wintermute isn't back, he just came back to make a thread. Why? Don't really care.

I don't really listen to much metal anymore, Justin. I wussed out.

BassVirtuoso 05-18-2009 09:11 PM

No...

I've kind of drifted away from listening to music to playing and writing music.

Steel Panther is ALWAYS acceptable metal.

funkyhoney 05-18-2009 09:16 PM

BassVirtuoso 05-18-2009 09:31 PM

Oh...nah.

I usually lean towards things that start with Progressive. It's not even on purpose, its just that all the bands I love are somehow considered progressive something.

The only songs I like by DEP are the 4 with Mike Patton singing. I've never been a fan of Devin Townsend or his projects for some reason...

The rest I will check out over the course of the day.

i like the DEP singer more than mike patton dude on songs like phone home you can't tell the difference between mike or him anyways

Epidemechanical 05-19-2009 12:25 AM

btw patton hasnt done anything cool in a long time im really disappointed =/

BassVirtuoso 05-19-2009 12:26 AM

I just checked out a couple Fell Silent songs...great band.

Now that you mention it, Phone Home does sound like Patton in his Tomahawk gas mask...

Epidemechanical 05-19-2009 12:28 AM

the gas mask is just an isolator/cancellation mechanism for live performance the tone comes from the PA mic attached to it

you need something to protect the mic or it'll feedback and destroy the ears of everyone in the room all 2 prong mics are sensitive and weird like that

Epidemechanical 05-19-2009 12:31 AM

oh and its just a painters mask you can get one at any local hardware store for about 20 dollars

then you just remove one of the filters and tape the mic to it so the diaphram faces through the filter hole

you also need to tape the transmission button down so it'll work hands free

and taa daa feedback reduction the industrial way

BassVirtuoso 05-19-2009 12:33 AM

Wow...and all this time I thought the tone was from singing through a mask...

funkyhoney 05-19-2009 12:36 AM

Epidemechanical 05-19-2009 12:36 AM

lmao no silly that doesnt even make sense the mask is just a mask it has no audio transmission device lol

BassVirtuoso 05-19-2009 12:39 AM

I don't necessarily go for bands like Nightwish...but there is one band that might fall into that genre that I absolutely love and thats Unexpect. Amazing musicians.
