I guess as long as your having a good time with it doesn't even matter.
Very true.

Again, you decide your level of involvement. If you want it to be comletely your own prject you need to invest in the tools.

But

If you are prepared to enlist outside help, such as having the rough work done in the form of it being cut out at a woodshop and then just finishing it off with some relatively inexpensive sanders and by hand, you can do that.

I am just lucky in that my father over the years has collected a variety of nice tools and I am now getting the benifit of that.

Then you will not like to hear about my experience with them.

Ignoring the fact that I do not like nickel strings.

Have fun and let me know what you think of them.

I did like the tone I got from them, but found they just died far too quickly.

how you been then?

good rats 10-04-2006 05:23 AM

I've been pretty good actually! I'm back at school for the term which sucks though.

And I'm stoked, two gigs this weekend. One with a Swiss Ska band. And our band gets to record with Brent Milhouse from H-block 101!

How have you been?

anyway, i've been good, just practising for my solo's at school next term, doing assignment bull**** over the holidays :( whatever else, meh

Criss Frantic 10-04-2006 05:36 AM

H-Block kick arse. They've played at The Arthouse, and so have I, so technically I'm part of the band aha.

funkyhoney 10-04-2006 05:40 AM

:( i want a band.. a good one

a funky punky one :smash:

Akira 10-04-2006 05:44 AM

I want a band too. Such a shortage of musicians.

blizzard 10-04-2006 05:51 AM

I have a band... not that we ever really play together. In fact I haven't talked to any of the members since last Saturday.
I have a band... not that we ever really play together. In fact I haven't talked to any of the members since last Saturday.
thats more than i have :)

all i have is an un-enthusiastic drummer who likes nothing but pop-rock

blizzard 10-04-2006 06:00 AM

nothing wrong with pop rock.... in fact I would probably enjoy playing in a very pop-rock-punk band that only root notes for basslines, more so than my band atm.

i couldn't, there's jsut something about nickelback that annoys me to no end.. thats not really pop rock, more like redneck rock

nickelback has their own genre. it's called "crap"

ebe9 10-04-2006 06:22 AM

Well Just got back from rushing home and collecting my parcel.

It is so pretty. The hipshot bridge is bigger than I expected (a very good thing) and will not look as dinky as I thought it would. The sucker also weight a ton, great thing about brass that.

The Nordies look great and I can't wait to get them installed as see how they play, but that is for much further down the line.

Now there is only the tuning machines that I am waiting for which arrive at the end of this month on a shippment.

Good times. I am happy.

Lord no, I would never play Nickelback... I was talking more bands like Panic! at the Disco, Senses Fail etc.

*chokes on own vomit*

i dunno why they're popular, why they suck so hard, or why they're here but i want them to **** off :)

ebe9 10-04-2006 06:30 AM

The Offspring

Rage Against The Machine

System Of A Down

Third Eye Blind

That pretty much sums up my listening habbits of late.

blizzard 10-04-2006 06:30 AM

I dunno for some reason I really like Panic! at the Disco, I'm not normally a fan of those kinds of bands but I like them for some reason. I don't think I could stand going to one of their concerts because of what most of their fans would be like.

I only like one track of theirs.

The one about a wedding and the bride being a slut and shagging the best man.

Funny shit.

Reminds me of the humor tracks The Offspring throws into their albums, like "Don't Pick It Up".

funkyhoney 10-04-2006 06:34 AM

the vandals
frenzal rhomb
RHCP
toast machine
DFA 1979
emilie autumn

are my main favourites right now, and most have been for some time (the vandals, frenzal etc.)

down with PATD :)

my bass sounds better than ever, what wonders new strings, a good clean and a fresh battery can do

Criss Frantic 10-04-2006 06:35 AM

Haven't you people ever heard of, shutting the goddamn up.

ebe9 10-04-2006 06:36 AM

If you guys are looking out for something new, give these guys a listen.

Local band who I honestly believe is going to go international.

if you like humourous sort of things, but not really "laugh out loud" humour listen to the vandals, particularly their mid-late 90's albums (live fast diarrea, the quickening, hitler bad, vandals good)
the rest is still aweseom, but these are the best most likely.

Criss Frantic 10-04-2006 06:37 AM

Listening Habits:

Jenny Lewis With The Watson Twins
XTC
Andy Partridge
Echo And The Bunnymen
Propagandhi
Gang Of Four
Frenzal Rhomb
