I'm just saying that the books are almost always better then the movies.

My bad if I came across as snarky.
My friend gave me New York Dolls - Rock N Roll (Greatest Hits), so I'm pretty happy right now.
Took you long enough ffs.
how is that a negative thing
because i already have enough CDs.

bleep_bloop 12-21-2006 05:06 PM

why doesnt anybody ever talk to me in the soulseek chatroom?

br3ad_man 12-21-2006 05:15 PM

Rocky is a ****ing terrible movie. How they made so many sequels is completely beyond me.

I'm reading Catch-22 at the moment. I read A Clockwork Orange last week.

Anxious 12-21-2006 05:32 PM

Catch-22 is extremely good.

br3ad_man 12-21-2006 05:52 PM

It is probably the funniest book I've ever read.

Clockwork Orange was such a good book.

Saw Rocky Balboa today and I liked it even though it kinda sucked.

Anyone watch the guitar duel between Colbert and The Decemberists? Chris Funk got destroyed.

edit: nvm sexymuffin beat me to it

Bukowski 12-21-2006 07:09 PM

It took me ages to get into the book (Clockwork Orange), because of the weird language used. But it's good when you do. The movie is excellent.

I struggle with William Burroughs as well sometimes, Naked Lunch can be a hard read.

_Mote_ 12-21-2006 07:10 PM

I've been meaning to read Naked Lunch ever since I heard that song he did with R.E.M..

I thought Clockwork Orange was really captivating. I loved the language in it. Not a big fan of the movie since it kinda ruined what I thought of Alex and stuff plus it left out the last chapter.

Currently reading One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. I like it so far.

_Mote_ 12-21-2006 07:17 PM

The DVD of One Flew Over... is on the table right next to me.

Rabbi 12-21-2006 07:22 PM
I thought Clockwork Orange was really captivating. I loved the language in it.
I attempted at this, but had trouble with the language. Maybe I'll try again now that I'm a bit older.

Bukowski 12-21-2006 07:22 PM

I agree Jawharal, it just took me ages to get into the book. It's one of my faves now.

I'm listening to my old favorites Propagandhi just now and I'm still euphoric from seeing them Saturday. Best show, best day, best night, of my life. I lost my t-shirt in the pit though. Great times.

YDload 12-21-2006 07:26 PM

why do you guys think i'm telling the truth about the rocky movie? i havent seen it, i'm just being a jerk >:-}

_Mote_ 12-21-2006 07:28 PM

Because you're the world's toughest milkman.

Jawaharal 12-21-2006 07:34 PM

YDload told the truth.

Rabbi 12-21-2006 07:48 PM

Does YDload= Wide Load?

FA 12-21-2006 07:49 PM

.....really?
I'm reading Catch-22 at the moment. I read A Clockwork Orange last week.
Me too except replace ACO with On The Road.

Two big A/I books there.

bleep_bloop 12-21-2006 09:49 PM

on the road is brilliant

I'm so glad I saw the film first, I don't think I would have had any hope of understanding the language in the book if I hadn't.

Eliminator 12-21-2006 11:58 PM

YDload has a good avatar.

sexymuffin 12-22-2006 12:51 AM

too long; decided not to read

but the first paragraph sounded pretty good, but tbh writing reviews would be gay because the only way to make a lot of money at it is to credit green day as writing a "Punk Rock Opera" which is total crap

YDload 12-22-2006 12:52 AM

yeah im pretty sure i told you it was a good review.

i actually like that album a lot less than i did when i first commented on it. but not BECAUSE of what you said, just the fact that the things you mention tend to catch up to the listener after a while.

plus Change is probably a better album of theirs anyway.

br3ad_man 12-22-2006 12:58 AM

It's a good review, though it's probably not a good idea to make reference to yourself. At least that's what I learned in school.

And yeah, Emergency and I sucks.

YDload 12-22-2006 01:00 AM
aka my review subliminally blew your mind

PS thanks
well i really wouldnt know for sure v:(v

PS i tell you, you tell me http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=2102

sexymuffin 12-22-2006 01:01 AM

sexymuffin 12-22-2006 01:06 AM

if it was bullshit i wouldn't have said it

i speak in irrefutable facts. i dunno where you've been

FA 12-22-2006 01:12 AM

FA 12-22-2006 01:16 AM

sexymuffin 12-22-2006 01:21 AM

FA 12-22-2006 01:24 AM

sexymuffin 12-22-2006 01:25 AM
ok what's the deal with Oink

_Mote_ 12-22-2006 04:47 AM

perriwinkle 12-22-2006 05:17 AM

everyone here should read The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell

class 12-22-2006 07:24 AM

Explain why I should.

perriwinkle 12-22-2006 07:28 AM

because once you do, you'll never be able to see yourself, other people, or the world the same way

Eliminator 12-22-2006 07:30 AM

Books are for perrwinkles.
