guns_of_brixton 04-27-2005 06:13 PM

CombatRock 04-27-2005 06:38 PM

you should really listen to Armagideon Time, good lyrics, and a sweet bass line

Forest_Fire 04-27-2005 07:01 PM

Okay then. I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

Have you ever heard the original Police and Theives? I think its by Junior Murvin or something. I've never heard it.

Forest_Fire 04-27-2005 07:04 PM

Me neither. But The Clash version is amazing. I play the bassline all the time

It's very tempting, but I don't have a spare $22 right now. I have about $20 total, and I'm saving that for shows throughout may, becuase right now I plan to go to 6 in one month, plus one this friday, so I have to save my money.

It would make a nice birthday present though... hmmm... i guess I could email the link to my aunt... hmmm...

sketchyjoe 04-27-2005 07:20 PM

I seem to be the only person here who has heard the original Wrong 'Em Boyo

CombatRock 04-27-2005 07:37 PM

That's a big 123, good buddy.

Murvins version is pretty subpar to all the hype Joe gave it.

And don't think I don't see you fools talking about the Ramones here.

If you want a Ramones thread, just ask. :)

Coma_Girl 04-28-2005 04:51 PM

the only thing the clash, the ramones and junior murvin have in common is

"they're going through a thigh wind..."

guns_of_brixton 04-28-2005 05:06 PM

[QUOTE=Coma_Girl]the only thing the clash, the ramones and junior murvin have in common is

Actually I think Joe added in "they're goin' through a tight wind" as a tribute to the Ramones.

I wish I had soulseek so I could hear the other version :upset:.

People who don't like the Clash have probably never heard of them. They did so many music styles, so there's probably something that most people would like.

CombatRock 04-28-2005 08:27 PM

yea, most people i know have heard of the clash, but the only song they know by them is "should i stay or should i go".
