Exacto knives are great. There are so many around my house, I can't believe that other people don't have them. I have like 3 in my room from the stencil making, and people in my family have yet to notice them missing.

i have never seen an exacto knife in my household...

What does that tell you about the safety of your family?

I think I'm going to try and make some shirts, but I have no idea where to start. I'll probably search through this thread because it's the kind of thing that I would imagine comes up every couple pages and annoys everybody by now.

I tried to make a specials shirt tonight and fuc'ked it up real bad. I made a nifty CRASS patch outta some of the material, though.

Depending on how good you want it to look, you can do it the screen printing way, or the really easy way...

easy way? a stencil and some spray paint. :)

Not much

I made a shirt the same way I make my patches. Print out an image onto cardboard-ish paper (or regular paper and then glue to the cardboard), and the cut out the image into a stencil. Then use fabric paint. Ta-da, a new shirt or patch!

Rory, is there any way to make proper transfers without the shittiness that's associated with those printable Iron-On transfers. You know how they feel like you've taped a sheet of card onto your shirt..,

Brain Toad 06-11-2005 03:46 PM

Yesterday I was cutting out a stencil (AC/DC logo) and stabbed the Xacto knife under the nail of my index finger, that really hurt. So I suggest you all be careful.

Jessizzle 06-11-2005 03:47 PM

Questionnn. Uhh so i used one of thoes T shirt makers at stores, Is there anything i should know about before washing it/?

Well like I said, the things I make aren't iron-ons, their made with fabric paint. It doesn't feel at all like the iron-ons.

Jon 06-11-2005 05:26 PM

Yeah, but you can't get beautiful technicolour photos using fabric paint :(
