MINUTEFLAG! |
Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works
That's all I can list by him because that album (2 disc set) set me back by 24 bucks. It's worth it though, each CD's just about set to the limit, both clocking out around 80 minutes. Really good stuff, all mellow music.
24 bucks!? jesus, i got mine used for 11$. His other stuff is far different, yet some is the same. Look up: Brainiac Theivery Corporation Massive Attack DJ Shadow Bjork Enon |
The best thing about being home alone all day is you can blast death metal and no one complains. I've been pumping out:
Cryptopsy Gorguts Mithras BTBAM Mastodon Fun! I've also been listening to Bowie, The Beatles, Frank Zappa and The Radio Dept. I'm about to listen to Dalek. |
i have been really into robert palmer today. in the retro mood, i guess

Hells yeah! Electroclash is great. And Tear Away was a fantastic single. I can't believe it didn't do better, especially in a country where Scissor Sisters would be huge not even 2 years later. Trivia - Fischerspooner signed to Ministry of Sound for a reported $2,000,000. |
MC5 are awesome, I'm so glad I bought one of their CD's the other day.
I saw OK Computer on vinyl today. Fifty-two dollars.
I have OK Computer on vinyl... it was a gift but it only cost $25. Which isn't too bad considering it's a 2xLP and considered such a 'modern classic'. Recently I've been into Christmas gifts... Low - A Lifetime of Temporary Relief The Standard - Wire Post to Wire Fennesz - Venice and some things I picked up... My Bloody Valentine's Isn't Anything Brian Eno's Ambient 1 & 2 The Delays - Faded Seaside Glamour Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense LP The Psychedelic Furs - The Psychedelic Furs LP |
ive been all about;
Bowie (after seeing Life Aquatic) The Kinks Morphine Bjork Theivery Corporation |
By the way, MAK, the Mark Sandman boxed set is outstanding. You really ought to get it, if your'e digging on Morphine.

cat power
cranes tricky denali aurore rien explosions in the sky vegastar i guess i´ve been a little sad lately :( |
Iron & Wine - 9/22/02
Glassjaw - Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Silence |
Soundgarden's "Superunknown" is quickly becoming one of my favorite albums ever. Even the sludgy, "grunge" tracks are still fun to listen to, thanks to Cornell's amazing voice and Thayil's considerable guitar skills.
|
I'm really loving "Freak Out!" this morning. I'm also digging the Goo Goo Dolls and Cryptopsy.
|
Quicksand's Slip.
|
Right now I'm I'm giving my first listen to the newly purcahsed The Icarus Line's "Penance Soiree"
I hope you hit the nail on the head again Tangy. |
The Jelly Jam. I wanna get Lykathea Aflame's Elvenefris sometime.
denali
yes:thumb: |
Ok, Tangy, you were absolutely correct.
|
Good stuff innit?
|
I just watched an old episode of Later With Jools Holland earlier tonight, and it had;
Elton John Ray Montagna (unsure of spelling, and so can't Google to check) Interpol Keane Bloc Party Old Crow Medicine Show All of whom, apart from Keane, were good. My first experiences with OCMS, Bloc Party and Interpol, and they were all pretty good, so I'm gonna be looking into checking them out in the near future, hopefully. |
Bloc Party are awesome.
|
I like Vomitory lately
And for some alt + indie stuff, I bought the re-issue of Relationship of Command, now I have 2 copies :) And 1 extra track |
Bartender's review reminded me how awesome the William Shatner album is. I love it.

One of my parents friends bought that for my mom for christmas. I've never heard it though. |
The Blood Brothers' March on Electric Children
|
I am going to compile a list of bands that I believe fit well together, and are better than you're band. If you don't know any of them, I command (omg NAZI!@$5$423) you to peep them... now.
Murder City Devils Cursive Pretty Girls Make Graves The Dismemberment Plan Pluto These Arms Are Snakes That looks nice. |
One of my parents friends bought that for my mom for christmas. I've never heard it though.
Hear it. |
Pretty Girls Make Graves suck.
|
I've been heavily digging Interpol this evening, though Im not sure why in particular.
|
Pretty Girls Make Graves suck.
No, the new Avril Lavigne album sucks. |
I've never heard of Pluto before, so I'll check them out. PGMG <3
|
Ok....today I spent 50 bucks on three Cd's. They were-
The Birthday Party - Prayers On Fire John Zorn - Film Music XII Secret Cheifs 3- Second Grand Constitution and Bylaws And I'm currently listening to Mr.Bungle's Claifornia. |
Fugazi, believe it or not
Latyrx Albert Ayler (look out for an Ayler review in the near future) |
Jaga Jazzist is my new fetish...it's just amazing stuff. Especially "Cinematic" and "Airborne". I found out about them when I was checking their collaboration with Motorpsycho...another amazing band.
Xiu Xiu (like the Unicorns, I've checked out another weird alt rock outfit...cool ****) Shpongle (never heard anything quite like this....whoa) The Beta Band (nice Gomez/Zero 7-sounding band...only with a bit of a Dust Brothers influence) Martine Topley-Bird (great singer, known for being on the early Tricky records...her solo work is better) Presidents Of The United States (really fun to listen to) |
Fugazi, Lifetime, BOTAR and The Beach Boys
