I like Kezia more but I listen to Fortress more.

Lol I do odd things like that. I dont want to play things out so I only listen once in awhile. |
The keyboard solo on Limb from Limb makes Fortress my favorite. I can't get over it, it just kills me.
|
I prefer Fortress, only listen to Kezia for a few songs but its grown on me more because of fortress
Anyone agree that Kezia own Fortress? I was listening to teh Kez today and it was a-maze-ing.
They've each got their great qualities. I'm probably going to be alone in saying this but I think that Kezia is the more atmospheric album. It probably ties back to when I first got into PTH early in the summer of '07 after listening to Lamb of God heavily for almost an entire year. I was getting tired of Randy Blythe and what seems like his only emotion (ANGER!). By chance I found myself on the PTH myspace listening to Divine Suicide of K and the first line got me hooked; "I better think of my answers now, because I know questions will be asked." I thought "Wow, this is frantic and heartfelt, I'm going to listen to more of this." I still get that feeling today even after listening to Kezia well over 70 times (which is probably an extremely low estimate). I would say that Fortress pummels more than it envelops like Kezia. Although I do admit, I find myself singing the line from Spoils "All the future ghosts..." almost daily. |
Did you just call Kezia atmospheric? What? I think it's the total opposite.
|
I said that I'm probably the only person who thinks that. I don't know, somewhere around Blindfolds Aside all the way up to Platefull of our Dead (if I'm actually listening to the music, not screwing around on the internet) I get sucked into it. Probably because that's when Kezia's movement starts and all of the songs are about the last hours of her life before she's brought to that "makeshift valley of death, in the prison's backyard."
At the time I first heard it I was pretty high strung about a lot of things so music that was all about being frantic and dreading something you know you can't change struck a chord with me. |
How is it not atmospheric? The ending of most of the songs (think Divine Suicide, Turn Soonest to the CD) is catchy and aesthetic.
To me the new CD just sounds less inspired. The climaxes feel more natural and each song moves comfortably from part to part on Kez. The new one is a bunch of cool parts kind of squeezed together to me. |

Listen to Spoils while reading the lyrics. You may change your mind. |
i think spoils is my least favorite track on that whole album

I'm still yet to appreciate Fortress as I havent been into PTH very long and I'm still so hooked on Kezia and a bunch of other stuff. Sequioa Throne grabs me by the balls and doesn't let go though. |
love the first 30 secs of that song, effing ace
|
Sequoia Throne is the weakest on the album for me.
|
i dont like it a lot, but the first part of it freakin kills, i just wish that the whole song carried the tone that was set in the first 30 secs
|
The worst track is definitely the opening one.
|
hell naw bloodmeat is ace
|
I hate that song. The rest of the album is solid though.
I had to stop listening to it cuz I was starting to play it out. |
that sucks, i really enjoy it, i really dont like spoils, but its still pretty good for the most part
|
Yeah i enjoyed it too much, I put a ban on that album for at least another month so I don't get sick of it too fast.
|
it was lodged in my ccd player for a good month too, and i've listened to it very sparingly within the past 2 months or so, i dont wanna get sick of it either
|
I smoked a joint with PtH post-show last summer FTW

Lucky guy, I'd be jealous but I've given up, for a while at least. At least until PtH come over here and I can do the same. |
Nice, would be interesting to get stoned with them I think. I've given up for the past week! Not through choice :(
|
yeah i've cut down a bit, by choice with me though.
You get caught or something? gotta get a job or what? |
Can't afford any at the moment, and all my buds with bud (lulz) are a 45 minute drive away, and I cant' drive!
|
and all my buds with bud (lulz)
 that sucks man, i got mad buds right now, just got picked, fresh as ****, really sticky too |
Getting stoked up again for PTH; going to see em for a couple dates soon. I don't expect any more professionalism [than that they currently hold themselves to; show up, merch it up, preform, stay n' drink or GTFO] out of the band since there fallout on the Silverstein tour during the southwestern leg. Or maybe it was all lies and they just really wanted to dump the tour.
Although if they wanted to step it up it would be cool if Arif took some stage presence away from Rody, or even just upped the banter, he seems the fan Fav; if we just get a little more of his personality to latch on to. Bonus points for the new opening song on this tour being limb from limb! |
They dropped the tour for professionalism's sake, buddeh.
|
I'm not your buddeh, guy
|
Even though I love Rodys' banter, I agree with you Capricious in havin' Arif stealin' some light from Rody. I spoke to him (Arif) once and from the 2 minute conversation I had he just seemed like a really likeable and chill guy. That could also have been 'cause he had been drinking but nonetheless...
I wonder who else is on the Canadian leg of this tour besides the obvious Chiodos (eww) and Fall of Troy. I'm excited for the 16th, going to be a fun night for sure. |
