heres a random fact on the beatles: in 1968, george harrison invited jim morrison from the doors to a recording session of the beatles, if you are to go into the tape archives at abbey road of the beatles, you can hear jim morrison singing back up on "happiness is a warm gun", i got that in the Jim Morrison biography.
That is not entirly true some experts claim he singing but his name is not in the credits of that session. Good job on reading Steven Davis and nice avatar. :) |
I think you'll find if you look hard enough you'll find just as I did that the Beatles did jams with just about every band. Same thing with Hendrix.
I have one bootleg where Syd Barrett (with Pink Floyd) are actully playing with them its called "What a Shame Mary Jane". |

Wow...Imagine, 9, behind all of those. Seriously.......
All in the Life? You mean A Day in the Life  That's whats happening in the world of p2p mp3 sharing....**** people with their mislabeling. |
They recorded Let it Be before Abbey Road. Abbey Road is their swan song, so to say. Let It Be was a time when they all hated each other and they knew they were breaking up so they left Let it Be and recorded the amazing Abbey Road. The song "the end" was going to be the last song on the last beatles album.
|
I find it slightly ironic that the 1st song on their last album is named "Come Together".
|
yer, oh well, let it be has its good points too
|
I think "Across The Universe" strikes one of Lennon's lyrical high points.
|
It's a shame they went out with Let It Be, but I don't think that album's really musical genius...it's underrated, as it gets criticised loads compared with a whole load of their other work, but it's definitely not in the same league as their greatest albums. I've always wondered where the band would have gone had they stayed together though. :-/
I dont think that album is musical genious either, but you have to look at its strong points. I mean, it was their only real TRUE rock and roll albums. All their albums had alot of pop/psychadelic elements to it. This album was basically just srtaight up rock. (except for across the universe, which was eerie and wierd) When you listen to the album you see alot of things like 12-bar-blues, and alot of things you would orient with rock and roll. In my opinion, it is a very good record, but i wish it wasnt their last. |
Let it Be is a good rock album, Abbey Road is better.

I have that one too, I think their best jam with another artist is Day Tripper with Hendrix, not just because its Hendrix, but because of what he did with the song. Its my new god. |
Hendrix did Day Tripper with The Beatles? I've heard a lot of bootlegs of Hendrix performing Beatles stuff live, but I was unaware he did any of it actually with The Beatles...

Me either. Do they actully sing with him? |

Well Let it Be was the only the last album released, the last recorded album was Abbey Road which is great one to have be the last. |
I have one bootleg where Syd Barrett (with Pink Floyd) are actully playing with them its called "What a Shame Mary Jane".
Yea it could be, well either way I also have a cover of them doing Yesterday with him, and I know its all of them because they are teaching it to him before the jam, whitch was intesting to hear. |

Let it be was going to be called, 'Get Back' and Paul wanted it to be their 'back to their roots' album. It was going to be a rock and roll record. |
Let it be, one of my fav. albums

Beatles True Rcok albumns: Please Please Me Help Hard Days Night Rubber Soul Let It be *apologises if i forgot anything |
My mom owns Hard Day's Night, and it's what really got me interested in music at all. Before that record (yes, my mom had one of the original pressings of the record, and a turntable to play it on), I never listened to anything outside of the radio. Now, I listen to a huge range of stuff. To me, that's the album that changed my outlook on music.
Now, I've heard alot about The White Album, but is there really anything beyond the hype? I've never actually listened to it. |
Yea it could be, well either way I also have a cover of them doing Yesterday with him, and I know its all of them because they are teaching it to him before the jam, whitch was intesting to hear.
where is this found, i'd love to hear it |

It's good. But not jawdropping or anything. Personally, one of the weaker post-66 releases. |
where is this found, i'd love to hear it
I got it from a friend, but if he signs on before I leave I'll ask him. |
It's good. But not jawdropping or anything. Personally, one of the weaker post-66 releases.
I disagree I think its one of their best. I mean its hard to say because the Beatles went through so many different changes what one fan conciders to be jawdropping another could concider it only ok. I feel its a good start if you like the more rock and roll Beatles (though Abby Road is better). |
I like anything past Rubber Soul, I'm not really a fan of the earlier Beatles. Other than that, I love the White Album and Abbey Road.
|
I've had Eleanor Rigby stuck in my head for a day now... hum
