if my band did an older alk3 song and we either included keys, violin, synth, or sax (we have a member who plays all 4, and he's learning more i think pretty soon), what do you guys think would be a good song to cover and what should zac use on it? he can do keys and synth together if necessary

Exploding Boy is a Cure song which has some synthesizer in it, its from Alkaline Trio.

im talking about a song the trio actually wrote...although their version of exploding boy is pretty amazing...i cant decide which ones better either...

but yeah we will more than likely cover a cure song too....maybe one of their darker songs to do something different than what every other cure cover i've ever heard. ive only heard covers of songs like lovesong and boys dont cry...zac wants to do Killing an Arab though, not really dark, but it is a cool song

the afi version of hanging garden is pretty swell...havent listened to it in a while...and yes, the cure deserves MUCH love from everybody in the hizouse

but for the trio cover, i was thinking either from god dammit or self titled...maybe MICF...i dunno



does this ever happen to you guys: all my subscriptions have been deleted and now i have to search for everything again, is there a way other than searching for everything a posting in it to restore all my subscriptions? this is the 2nd time it's happened

The fact that he doesn't do it live doesn't mean he can't. It might just have been part of the routine, or whatever.

dood i was just messin around...i gotta give the guy props for writing that, it's cool as hell

but zac is practically a musical genious he can play guitar, bass, keys, sax, violin, cello, could easily learn upright bass cause its so similar to cello, several different percussion instruments, and he's about to learn drums...and he's a pretty good singer too when he tries...and he can play time to waste note for note on keys...we walked in an electronics store that had a keyboard and he started playing it and it was awesome sounding...he did admit that it was a hard song though

Did he learn Time to Waste by ear? I wanna learn how to play it.

yeah he learns everything by ear, he can't read music anymore he hasnt had lessons since he was 7 and hes 16 now

I'm guessing they are both from the acoustic show in London?
I know that the deluxe version of Crimson uses the Sadie from that show.
