*Looks around wearing zeppelin shirt* Uh... Am I cool? I like zeppelin.
Cool for a person born in the last 20 years (I assume).

Badmoon 07-20-2004 10:29 PM

Wearing a Zeppelin shirt doesn't make you cool. Actually that's a reason to hate you in my opinion.

BludgeonySteve 07-20-2004 10:30 PM

Because it's wearing the shirt of a classic rock gateway band and claiming that you like classic rock? Or because you hate zeppelin...?

Paranoidd 07-20-2004 10:53 PM

I wear Zeppelin shirts...

No, I'm from a nudist colony.

Anybody like David Bowie?

Badmoon 07-20-2004 11:08 PM

^He has his moments of terror and terrible music.

Paranoidd 07-20-2004 11:14 PM

Yeah he is hit and miss sometimes...

Was listening to the Ziggy Stardust & Space Oddity albums at work today. Stardust is so, so good.

Badmoon 07-20-2004 11:19 PM

^Yeah, there's one of his hits :)

El Johno 07-21-2004 12:01 AM

I know what you mean. Some of my friends like to make fun of my choice of music because its not current. I love The Doors, Rush, and Bad Company. I wish I could have been a teenager in the mid to late 70's instead of now when I turn on the radio and hear Good Charlette. It makes me want to vomit. My parents really lucked out with there generations choice of music.

Paranoidd 07-21-2004 12:18 AM

I wish I was born in 1949. I could have been young enough to party in the 60's, old enough to do some major coke and do some disco in the 70's, then be burnt out and depressed in the 80's.

Badmoon 07-21-2004 03:08 PM

Wouldn't you rather try to change music and make a name for yourself now, then be an old guy who possibly made a mark in the 60's.

LIVE IN THE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paranoidd 07-21-2004 03:10 PM

But the now sucks :(

There was so much more free drugs and sex in the 60's. Better music. Better clothes. Longer hair. Woodstock.

BludgeonySteve 07-21-2004 03:11 PM

We have had some great music in the 90s and there is some good current music. Classic rock bands are still coming out with albums, just they aren't so hyped.

Badmoon 07-21-2004 03:19 PM

We have Classic sounding artists. Like Gov't Mule. And you just have to look at some of the Jam Bands or underground bands, or even grunge and alt.

Paranoidd 07-21-2004 03:24 PM

Because they usually aren't on par with previous stuff. I know that we have good stuff today...but man...just imagine to live that 60's vibe, would have been awesome.

OH MAN I just remembered something...I think its badmoon whos the Grateful Dead fan. Check this out: I'm listening to my local classic rock station yesterday (Q107.1) in Toronto, and they have this major announcement. Apparently, back in the day, the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin (!) toured Canada on a train. From Toronto, to Calgary, then back up to Winnipeg, or something like that. Well, apparently, as you might expect, there was lots of drugs, music, and other...things...going on. Apparently, there was also a video camera present. Up until now, the tapes have been locked away by somebody because they may have some stuff on there thats..umm...incriminating. It's not like they hid their drug use, but who knows whats on there. So Q107 has supposedly "aquired" these tapes and is having a private screening but you have to win tickets.

I tried last night but didn't get em :(

Badmoon 07-21-2004 03:40 PM

:) Cool :)

They'll probably eventually be released.

classicrock comeback

I definately hear ya on the classic rock coming back thing, i mean just for an example: the film school of rock. After watching that any person has the erge to go whack on some led zepplin or ac/dc (for those about to rock).
theres no better music than the greats of classic rock. im only 16 and i no what ur saying, most of my music collection consists of queen, led zepplin, pink floid, ac/dc, much of the 80s rock (not quite punk tho), and random songs that were all written during or before the early 80s.
personaly im luvin ths "re-rise" of classic and prog-rock so if i may say a few words...................................
Stand up and be counted
For what you are about to recieve
We are the dealers
We'll give you everything you need
Hail hail to the good times
'Cause rock has got to ride away
We ain't no legend, ain't no cause
We're just living for today

For those about to rock, we salute you!!!

I wanna take a trip out there man...my good friend has family there. His cousin used to be some head bouncer or something @ Cowboys (which supposedly sucks now).

I just want to go party, and I heard Calgary is a good place to do it.

BludgeonySteve 07-21-2004 05:41 PM

Yep. Cowboys=teh gay. Lots of other rock/country music type clubs. The people like to drink, partying and drinking goes way up when

1. Nickelback comes cause they need money.
2. A good band comes.
3. the flames make the playoffs.
4. Stampede!!!!! :chug:

Calgary=party city (sort of).

Paranoidd 07-21-2004 05:43 PM

Flames...heh.

I have to say even though I'm a loyal leaf fan (and Canadian), I wanted to see Dave Andreychuk get that cup. You guys put up a good fight though.

magicbus 07-21-2004 06:14 PM

Man I hate being gone for awhile. Missed all the conversations. On that note:

I like David Bowie.
No Quarter is a cool song.
I have a Jim Morrison shirt that has the "American Poet" deal on it.
Living in the now is alright.

Hopefully that covers it.

BludgeonySteve 07-21-2004 06:19 PM

What are your thoughts on Calgary? That's the most recent conversation even though it has little to do with classic rock.

ILOVEFLEA 07-21-2004 06:22 PM

If there are so many people out there that like such ****ing good music,
why do all the radio stations play a bunch of **** ****ed up bull****? I havent seen a good band come out since at least the 90's, and i miss a lotta old ****. what the **** is happenin?

heh.
I like David Bowie.
It's a shame he had that heart problem so he had to cancel the rest of his tour. Luckily I saw him before it happened, and he was amazing. (Even from the nosebleeds ;) )

I don't like them because the wings lost to em and i'm from Detroit, but other than that i don't mind them.
