Obviously I don't think people saying they are glad they live in the US and that they probably wouldn't want to live elsewhere is a bad thing. I just don't like the attitude a lot of Americans take in that we're somehow the "greatest country on earth" with such limited knowledge about the rest of the world. I don't think it's even objectively possible to name a "greatest" country.

I don't really have an emotional attachment to the country, but I happen to like the area I live a lot and the culture for the most part. I'm just worried that in the face of diminishing economic and political power our government is going to take some really bad steps to counteract that.
