You guys seen Bodom Beach Terror live at Tuska Festival 2003?

TEST 06-17-2006 12:18 AM
\m/

Well I'm not going to go buy it, I might hate the music.

Plus, I've been doing loads of downloading since I got a hard drive that's larger than 4GB.
I myself always worry of hating an album. Hence why I dl.

MRDuCran 06-17-2006 12:21 AM

And because you're cheap. :p

In my defense. 99% of what i listen to isn't in stores.

That's a fact.

MRDuCran 06-17-2006 01:00 AM

That's a high percentage there.

TEST 06-17-2006 01:08 AM
That's a high percentage there.
Indeed. This Darzamat is fukking amazing. I havn't even listened to all of one album much less both I dl/found. It's already top ten bands. :chug:

MRDuCran 06-17-2006 01:44 AM

That high number is probably nearly correct, I've never heard of Darzamat...

Time to eat a bacon sandwich methinks.

I have 89 artists in my iTunes.

MRDuCran 06-17-2006 01:54 AM

Shi...I bet it's all obscure black/death metal isn't it?

TEST 06-17-2006 01:55 AM

Most of it isn't that rare. It's very rare for mainstream, your everyday person. Within metal circles, mostly not.

MRDuCran 06-17-2006 02:22 AM

I think I'll just stick with Bodom for now.

I've been getting into At The Gates, I'm liking that whole Gothenburg sound, I've started writing a song in that style, it's coming along ok.

Anyway, bed time for mez.

Gardens Of Grief is really good.

I don't like Slaughter Of The Soul much, though.

you're writting a "Gothenburg"-style-song?! HOW do yo do it? i'm just curious, cause gothenburg = melodic death metal, the only difference is that in gothenburg you scream more and growl less... as far as i'm not wrong.

AA-12 06-17-2006 05:57 AM

Gothenburg just has a different sound than melo-death. Almost industrial influence I believe.

repcak 06-17-2006 06:30 AM

no, no... i listen a lot industrial-music and know what industrial is. there are no industrial-elements in gothenburg. no, never. a lot of ppl think industrial = electronic elements in music, but this is wrong... soo wrong. don't make this mistake.

and yes gothenburg has a different sound, but i would like to know, what exactly are the differences between them.

Well I don't mean it's specifically Gothenburg, but ok, melodic death metal style.

I put the guitars in B standard, used a 16th note riff at 140bpm and put a Slayer type beat to it, just reminded me of something AtG would do, so I just said it was that style.
At the Gates used to really be my thing.

What music DO you actually find interesting??

IheartSP 06-17-2006 12:29 PM

AtG isn't really Gothenburg. They tread the line but I think of them as more Melodic Death. Gothenburg doesn't have an industrial influence, later Dark Tranquillity does but that's just their style, not the whole genre's. Gothenburg has a lot of elements of Thrash in it, but much more Melodic. Think Thrash with harmonized guitars, lot's of tremolo picking, blast beats, double bass, and just an overall melodic sound.

Early In Flames and any Dark Tranquillity is a good example.

AA-12 06-17-2006 12:38 PM

Thrash > Gothenburg.

It's true, it's true :p

MRDuCran 06-17-2006 12:40 PM

I guess I just said Gothenburg because that's where In Flames are from, and they're kinda in that style too. I really don't care what exact genre bands are, as long as I like them it doesn't matter to me. I can't really seem to get into In Flames but I do love Take This Life and Dead End.

Dark Tranquility, I like a few of their songs. I think one is Black Noise, White Silence, that's cool. I have alot of DT and AtG songs, I just haven't really dedicated enough time to listen to them properly.

Why the hell do you need a 200gb or 300gb harddrive? Cant any of you limit yourself maybe go out and buy atleast a few cds?

MRDuCran 06-17-2006 03:51 PM

I buy all the cds of bands I like, I download stuff I've never heard before so then i CAN hear it to see if I like it. I use most of my space for videos.
