It's not just the double post rule.

Single smiley posts.

Trolling.

Guys, anyone is welcome to post here, "borderline racist" or not. If you have a disagreement, ignore the instigator. I really would appreciate it if this thread didn't go through another round of taking sides and bitching. I know that what I say in this thread has gone out the window as of late and that people will jump on me for things that I write, but honestly, this thread could do without the animosity that's starting to build, and there's really no reason for it other than zero coming in and posting here. Just because a majority of you had a big stink about what he has said, doesn't mean that you have to start attacking him through this thread. I know that this might file under "off-topic discussion," but again, I would truly, truly appreciate it if people would just calm down and realize that this is the Internet. If that last sentence makes me a hypocrite based on my past rants about maintaining a sense of equilibrium and compromise within this thread, then fine, call me what you will.

I just hope that this thread doesn't go to war again, is all :-\

MBS 07-09-2005 02:20 PM

I'm watching Live 8 and Rob Thomas is covering "The Joker".

He's not even using the famous bassline. :(

And, just to clear things up: I'm not a borderline racist or anywhere close to being a racist. In fact, I abhor racism.

I had my wisdom teeth removed. :-/ I think there's something wrong, because today is the third day since I had my surgery, but my tongue is still numb from the novacaine. Usually it wears off within an hour or two after the surgery.

I've heard horror stories about wisdom teeth removals...One person I knew woke up in the middle of the night with blood pouring from the wounds...

AH you hypocrite!

erm, please stop moaning about this thread, it serves a purpose, all off topic convo goes here, whether it's bitching about zero or not.

NJMetalMeister 07-09-2005 02:39 PM

I had to have oral surgery like 5 years ago to remove my wisdom teeth before they even began to come in or else they would have forced my back molars out of my mouth. It isn't fun, I was eating nothing but jello pudding for about 2 weeks. It took me a good 2 months until I could eat normally again, but then again I had an extreme case, most people will not have that issue.

Apparently as soon as i woke up from the surgery I tried to say to my mom "I dont understand why they said I couldnt drive, i feel fine", but my mouth was full of gauze so it was incoherant, and then i fell out of the chair trying to get up.

Good times.

I just got my wisdom teeth out a few days ago and it sucks. My jaw hurts and I've been doing the same as you. Eating a lot of jello pudding packs and I'm starving. Can't wait til I can actually chew again.

Refl.

/hopes my sarcasm detector isn't broken

///

I haven't had my wisdom teeth removed yet, and I don't know if that's shocking or not. I have heard mixed things... some said that it was a completely painless procedure save for the day after, and some said that the whole ordeal is just a huge bitch. The numbers are actually pretty even, so it's not like I can expect one over the other.

So, I guess I'll find out on my own when the time comes.

clearvision 07-09-2005 02:56 PM

I had my front tooth crowned last year...

That was fun...

The dentist drilled at my tooth for an hour....without saying a word...

I'm hoping this tooth comes through OK, though it probably looks like surgery :( My other wisdom teeth knocked my teeth all out of place, so I kinda need braces again. But The orthodontist says i need about 3 braces at one time for 18-24 months, which i really cannot be doing, I've already had them for 24months...:(

I am going Monday for a check up as well, and I hate doctors as well.

I also have to get a few cavitys filled and get my wisdom teeth pull. Fun! :\

The surgery was the funnest part. I just kind of kicked back with my mouth open, laughing at everything. :D I'm so swollen though. I mean, I make Jay Lenno look gaunt.

He cursed out Trilemma for trolling this thread.

EDIT: AH- you're not a hyprocrite. :) And for the record Trilemma is also the one that journeyed here and began trolling us after his thread was closed by Bartender, probably because we were complaining about him, and he's been reappearing ever since likely because he wants to keep those who were complaining off guard. Or what he said, "Because he likes it here."

Personally, as with most problems, he'd be easier to ignore if he wasn't present but at this point I just want to keep that whole situation that occured in Politics out. And if that incident is one of the reasons Trilemma is here now, than that's a problem that I'm going to continue to bring up. Trilemma is free to do whatever he wishes and more, but I don't have to like it if he keeps coming in with a smirk.

Well, me, Illmatic and zerokewl were/are diametrically opposed on most political issues, which is fine, as it is what Politics is for. What we found offensive were certain comments he made that toed the line between something that was a harmful stereotype and something that could be construed as a valid political stance. Not to mention his reason for making the thread and the way the thread itself was constructed, in which zero was conducting a "scientific experiment" on how mainstream rap is a corruptive influence by examining the lyrical content of songs in the Billboard Top 100 rap songs. The songs were subjectively chosen and the judgements zero drew from them were subjective, and he was proving nothing. It was just a really bad thread that did nothing except encourage rap flaming and then, when me and Illmatic began posting, degenerated into yet another instance of a huge argument between stubborn zero and stubborn "us."

When the argument began to wind down and zero started to repeat points he had already made is when he said the offensive comments, and also when he displayed his maddening tendency to disregard any point we brought up so that he could just continue pressing his own pre-formed case. Not to mention his minute selection of various points to attack to the exclusion of most our cases. In my opinion, it wasn't the appropriate behavior of a politics mod, especially when it was likely spurred by some thread about Lil Kim going to jail in the normal Pit. Having found no success there he seemed to want to slam his case home in his home forum of Politics.

And then like a bitch he deleted the thread after Bartender closed it, probably because we had been threatening to complain in Site, and now we can't cite any of the pages for his conduct. Big surprise there.

The opinion I can deal with. I just think the way he behaves and makes threads does not befit a mod of Politics.

/my opinion on the issue.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and then making a thread to boost his popularity in the Pit in case someone does end up complaining, while whoring rep to people like Simple Man who voted for "egomaniac."

Powerchord_rock and I recorded our Metallica cover today; the majority of it. Then my lame computer crashed and I lost the intro file. So all I have of us playing together is the main riff and the chorus sections. We are going to record again on saturday and hopefully finish it up.
