I've heard of that band, but never listened. I'm pretty sure they have some mp3s up at www.epitonic.com, though.
Yeah, thats a really good site. Except it's always slow for me.

I discovered Hilkka on there, they sound a lot like Slint.

Some cynical bastards we have here.
Some girls came up to me today and told me I had a nice sweater. Then they smelled my shoulder and started giggling.
Did you put the moves on 'em?

morrissey 11-01-2005 07:45 PM
Which band do you prefer?

The Good Life or Cursive?

I've had this argument with a friend before, it's really hard. They're both awesome.
Album of the Year is the strongest album I've heard in a long time, but as a band Cursive takes the cake.

I think I introduced you to the Good Life back in the day, or at least recommended them to you. Good times.

I wonder who uses the fewest words per post: NPC or Tangy?

Hmm *sips Kool-Aid*

el doctor 11-01-2005 08:57 PM

Field trip tomorrow... We're seeing the Lion King, which I already saw years ago. To me though, the whole point of the trip is lunch at John's Pizzeria, the ownage restaurant I posted about on trust me last year.

Anxious Mo-Fo recently made me aware of the wonders of Amazon's used cds. Here's what I'm planning on getting.

fIREHOSE - Flyin' the Flannel - $3.57
Mike Watt - The Secondman's Middle Stand - $2.00
Yo la Tengo - Painful - $3.88
Meat Puppets - Too High to Die - $0.89
Sonic Youth - Washing Machine - $4.24
The Nation of Ulysses - Plays Pretty for Baby - $4.99

The total comes to $19.57. Which is pretty damn cheap. Is this a good purchase?

Zmev 11-01-2005 10:35 PM

Short answer: yes.

Daniel! 11-01-2005 10:41 PM
Short answer: yes.
Good. I'm really looking foward to the Nation of Ulysses one.

Yes yes. Except I don;t like that particular Meat Puppets album, its kinda eh. But all of those other ones are top notch.

For 89 cents it should be worth it.
NPC
Yeah I would say so because usually I can get out what I need to say in word or two since there is really no point in continuing rambling on and on about nothing.
Good. I'm really looking foward to the Nation of Ulysses one.
I've heard that band being talked about forever and still havent heard them :(

br3ad_man 11-02-2005 02:33 AM
Yeah. Sometimes they have all-ages gigs there. When they do, I think they have the all ages section upstairs and the 18+ dowstairs or something. So you may have a glimmer of hope.
Yeah, possibly. Blackalicious seem like the kind of group who would do that. Fingers crossed, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I've pretty much realised that I'm going to be stuck with hardcore gigs for the next 11 months, so I might as well get used it.

Kind of a crappy day today, but I'm pretty sure I have a job at the local homewares store now. I wouldn't want to work there for long, but it's only for the christmas holidays, which is fine with me. Then I can use the fact that I have experience to get a job somewhere good like JB or preferably the video shop.

Tangy zizzle 11-02-2005 03:38 AM

I've scored a job working for a landscaping company. I start 2 days after I finish my final exam, which sucks. On the plus side, I'll be working in the sun with foreign girls (attrictiveness: unknown) and I like landscaping.

br3ad_man 11-02-2005 05:14 AM

Does that mean you will post on teh internets more?

Luxor 11-02-2005 02:23 PM

Morissey, what college are you in at U of T

morrissey 11-02-2005 02:24 PM

University College

why do you ask?

Luxor 11-02-2005 02:26 PM

Just wanted to see if you were in the same residence as my girlfriend/friends. I know people in Woodsworth and Victoria.

morrissey 11-02-2005 02:31 PM

I know some kids from Woodsworth but they are all offcampus so I don't know if your friends would know them. Victoria, I know one guy but he's in third year.

U of T is such a big school, I know maybe 1% of the population. :(

Luxor 11-02-2005 02:33 PM

Yeah, it's pretty damn big. At Sheridan I have classes of 40, you have classes of 1200.

:\

I'm pretty sure you were the one that introduced me to The Good Life. Thanks for that. :). I mean, it's one of my favorite bands. Album of the Year is great, but i think i like Black Out even more. Novena on a Nocturn is solid, but not as good as the other 2.

The Great Decay 11-02-2005 03:32 PM

Has anyone else heard of the band Unkle, and is it just me or do they sound exactly like Radiohead?

Happymeal 11-02-2005 04:04 PM

^Thom just did guest vocals on "Rabbit in Your Headlights"

Do you know a girl named Bea? She's in UC as well.

The Great Decay 11-02-2005 04:13 PM

That's the song I heard.

Last name would help but it really isn't familiar. UC has 4,000 students I believe. :\
