I'd like to see them. Hopefully they will come here after they release their next album.
do you know anything about their next album?

cobert 07-29-2005 10:54 PM

So, right now im being insanely sarcastic in the coolest musician thread saying blink 182 is underground, and some tard is believeing me.

Tjebby 07-29-2005 10:54 PM

I want to see any hardcore, but Iowas hardcore sucks. Poeple think that slipknot is hardcore, and they are the only ones that come by. Isn't it weird how some of my friends have next door neighbors as slipknot. Like how people can live so close to rock stars and not know it, until they hit it big.

BridgeToSolace 07-29-2005 10:55 PM
i wanna see AFI. I've gotton addicted to them somehow.
Davey was very cool when I saw them.

I'm not into their music though.

I haven't read anything about it. I can't wait for it to come out. I wish I knew when it was supposed to be released.

Dude, I live in Portland, Oregon. Hardcore over here is... what... Everclear? The Decemberists?

as said before, my sister thinks metalcore is hardcore, and she thinks real hardcore is 'pozer fagz lawl'.

What bands are you looking to see in particular? We don't get much hardcore either, but once in a while a good hardcore band comes around.

for some reason everytime i go in the thread i laugh histerically. Their is always someone defending blink cause they're are"teh shiz" .

Understanding In a Crash 07-29-2005 10:57 PM
 I know what you're talking about. I liked their performances both times I saw them though. The one show aired on MTV2 as part of the $2 Bill Tour, and they only played songs off Three Cheers, but it was cool.
I hate MCR with a passion.

Anything. I read the datebook(has all the concert listings) and i dont see anything. Theres some metal and stuff, and then Slipknot and Stone Sour.

Understanding In a Crash 07-29-2005 10:59 PM

Yeah, I thought that... but... that's just not even funny.
And I'm sorry to hear that you like The Decemberists.
It's strange: I hate, like , all Indie and all Indie Kids... except... for my girlfriend. She is the only Indie Kid that I like at all, and I love her.

Oh. I don't know many harcore bands so I couldn't really tell you what it's like around here. We have one club that gets everything, so they probably have a couple shows.

cobert 07-29-2005 11:00 PM
Shes my hero http://myspace-802.vo.llnwd.net/00171/20/89/171849802_l.gif
I believe we established this fact prior to today.

Bloodlust 07-29-2005 11:01 PM

i could never really get into harcore.

haha, i like a 2 or 3 of their songs, but i wouldnt consider myself a fan. The alt/indie forums are the secret elitists of MX, also. They're just angry because the music discussed in there is so bland.

And that is funny, i wanna see if this tard figures out that im joking.

TMA 07-29-2005 11:03 PM
i could never really get into harcore.
I'm one of the only people I personally know that IS into Hardcore. It makes it kind of suck to go to shows, cause i end up going by myself.
I guess that's what I get for going to a High School of 140 student... No joke.

Tjebby 07-29-2005 11:03 PM
i could never really get into harcore.
I hated it at first, but the transition is smooth if you start out with the right stuff.

and to TMA's post, my high school has 300 in my grade, im the only one that listens to hardcore.

BridgeToSolace 07-29-2005 11:04 PM
i could never really get into harcore.
Early hardcore bothers me, because I hate punk, and early hardcore is just punk that yells louder and uses a heavier distortion.

Modern hardcore is great though.

Bloodlust 07-29-2005 11:04 PM

what is "the right stuff"

My high school has 1000+ people (250 - 300 in my grade), and I go to shows alone because no one I know is into the music I am.

I started not likeing it either. But, I got really involved in Coheed And Cambria, and they had a slight hardcore feel to them and had the screaming going on, which was the first of it that I could stand, really (That's most people's problem with hardcore... the screaming). But, then I just got out there and started listening to more and more stuff. I think my first great exposure to Hardcore was either Underoath or From First To Last.
what is "the right stuff"
I started out listening to Finch and Funeral For A Friend, Senses Fail, TBS, stuff thats like not hardcore, but has a few elements of it. Then you just keep going down the line, until you actualyl reach hardcore bands, and it sounds great. I actaully went from those four to Fear Before The March Of Flames, but oh well.

Bloodlust 07-29-2005 11:06 PM

yeah no one liked the kind music i listen to in my school either

I actually made a similar progression. I went from Senses Fail, FFAF, etc, to CTTS and FBTMOF.

And I can truthfully say that.

Oh yeah, I also listened to some Senses Fail and Finch and sh*t before, but not enough to get me into hardcore

Tjebby 07-29-2005 11:09 PM

Hey Gregg, try listening to The Blood Brothers. They have a lot of screaming, but aren't hardcore.

Its not.

And i listen to a little hardcore, but i still love TBS. Im wearing a TBS shirt right now.

Mute Print 07-29-2005 11:11 PM

I need to start listening to The Blood Brothers. I have some of there music, and a lot of people around here seem to like them, but I've never really listened to them much.

And now that I think of it, I think the first bands that got me started into hardcore were Thursday and Thrice.

Bloodlust 07-29-2005 11:11 PM
Hey Gregg, try listening to The Blood Brothers. They have a lot of screaming, but aren't hardcore.
ok. Ill get some off of YSI

Tjebby 07-29-2005 11:12 PM

Blood Brothers= Better than sex. Try Fuckings Greatest Hits or Burn Piano Island Burn for starters. Trash Flavored Trash is a great one too.

I have Burn Piano Island Burn, but I never listen to it. I think I'll upload it to my iPod now so I can see what its like.

Tjebby 07-29-2005 11:14 PM

Dan, just quit now. You haven't posted one hot girl.

Bloodlust 07-29-2005 11:14 PM

I got some Bleeding Through from warped 05. Would they be considered hardcore?
