You can nominate your top 5 guitar albums of all time for Guitar World magazine's poll. Don't tell the R&M kiddies because we wanna get Marquee Moon on this list before they fill it up with Metallica and Pantera!

JonM 05-31-2006 06:18 PM

I'm starting work on a comic book concept rap album tonight. I'm excited and intrigued.

br3ad_man 06-01-2006 05:40 AM
I haven't listened to much Mogwai yet. Maybe I should do that before Splendour happens. Same goes for Sonic Youth.
You definitely should. Though Sonic Youth will probably just play a lot of new stuff.

Wanker 06-01-2006 09:18 AM
Hooray I am now an Alt/Indie mod :)
Congrats YDload. It's about time we got that other mod.. although we're usually on good behavior ;)

JonM 06-01-2006 11:06 AM

Congrats YD.

Yo check it out. The comic book/album is just going to be a concept for a cartoon. It's called Crunk Nebula (website coming soon). It's about a posse of intergalactic rap star aliens (and one robot) who roll around the galaxy looking for crunk things to do, make music, get in rap battles, bust caps, pick up females, and stay straight up on that kryptonite. We've basically designed the principal characters, and we've made a couple beats that are going to be the soundtrack to the website probably by tonight. It's goin down.

sweboy 06-01-2006 01:54 PM

"crunk things to do"? Oh, I'm there fo' sho'.

Yea, I'm not sure if I'm gonna see them on the 15th for this reason.

Zmev 06-01-2006 05:18 PM

Graduation is next friday, new Sonic Youth is tuesday? Tight.

Zappa 06-01-2006 06:34 PM

A big avatar for the first person who correctly identifies all the elements in my new avatar. Tell me what each item is and who it belongs to. For the man, just give me his name.

One or two may be a bit difficult, but it should pretty much be cake (especially if you know my musical taste).

Zappa 06-01-2006 06:41 PM

Bzzt.

Little Man being Erased 06-01-2006 06:41 PM

^ that plus part of Talking Heads - Remain in Light cover. Not sure what that moustache is on it though.

Little Man being Erased 06-01-2006 06:43 PM

oh yeah of course

Sam 06-01-2006 06:44 PM

Wire, Talking Heads, and Flavor Flav. Thats all I've got.

Sonic Youth is playing the day of my graduation...

The Jungler 06-01-2006 06:45 PM

Isn't that one of those ugly Ted Nugent hats?

Zappa 06-01-2006 06:45 PM

Should I make a separate thread for my dumb contest?

Zappa 06-01-2006 06:47 PM

No two items are associated with the same musical performer or group.

The Jungler 06-01-2006 06:47 PM

The hair of Wayne Coyne (post Bulletin)

Zappa 06-01-2006 06:50 PM

I made a thread, don't put any more guesses here.

Little Man being Erased 06-01-2006 06:58 PM

EDIT: oops

ATM 06-01-2006 08:48 PM

Just saw X-Men 3. Not too bad.

YDload 06-01-2006 10:41 PM

i recorded a bassline to a familiar song and i want to see if it makes any sense

http://media.putfile.com/test-73-74

give it a click :)

FA 06-01-2006 10:47 PM

Not bad, what "simliar song" it sounds familiar..

YDload 06-01-2006 10:56 PM

I didn't say "similar" song, I said familiar. It's quite a noticeable bassline, but I recorded a few more of these (and plan to do about a dozen or so). Just wanna see if my ghetto way of recording produces listenable results.

And if not, then screw you it's lo-fi

pikester 06-01-2006 11:22 PM

Pixies - Here Comes Your Man.

Yeah?

Yeah?

Kyle 06-02-2006 05:52 AM
Just saw X-Men 3. Not too bad.
meh, I preferred the 2nd one by quite a long way. The new one is pretty good eye candy, but I couldn't handle all the Mutant vs Human politics.

Damn, you always get these questions :shakesfist:

I got the most amazing piece of news last night. It's my friend's birthday party tomorrow night, who I really like. And I was worried that her boyfriend was gonna be there. But thanks to the info of a mutual friend, he's not gonna be there, because they apparently broke up like a year ago! So I can make my oh-so-subtle move!

To celebrate, I'm gonna used a smiley I haven't used in about a year: :naughty:

Smooth. Way to keep in touch with your friends.

In other news, my grad is tonight. Slightly sarcastic hoorays all around.

biografiend 06-02-2006 10:44 AM

All my friends are out of town/working this weekend :(. I think I might call&hang out with this guy named Nealyworms who just got back from DEMF, though, which should be an entertaining time.

In other news, I am now a lifeguard.

Congrats! Go get 'em at the afterparty.

Today's battle of the bands was very hot and sweaty.

Interstate 06-02-2006 03:42 PM

I had the shittest day at work ever since I've been there. I had a massive till difference and messed up so much stuff which resulted in the manager giving me a disciplinary contract & my quarterly bonus being taken away. Stupid shitty work.

sweet gig, huh?

FA 06-02-2006 04:18 PM

I worked from 7am - 4:30pm, I'm sunburned, dirty and tired.

Zmev 06-02-2006 05:34 PM

No more high school.

pixiesfanyo 06-02-2006 05:40 PM
No more high school.
I have two more days.

YDload 06-02-2006 05:46 PM

are you goin to college anywhere pixies

pixiesfanyo 06-02-2006 06:06 PM

i'm working for a year, and then i'm planning on going to Middle Tennessee State's Production program, and minoring in journalism.

YDload 06-02-2006 06:11 PM

Middle Tennessee State? That's weird.

I keep forgetting that you live only about a hundred miles from me. I live in a musical vacuum and I didn't think anyone cared about music anywhere near me :(
