I have mine just around the belt line. Its pretty comfortable but not great for playing fast.
yeah mines round that area, does not favour lead play. But then if I was to play a solo at a gig, Id wanna look cool, I wouldnt want the guitar under my chin, it aint the 60's no more

Jev 08-23-2005 03:44 PM

I have mine above waist. I spose you're right.

metalhead_matt 08-23-2005 03:46 PM

Endless Obsession 08-23-2005 04:37 PM

I have mine low but thats how I like it. I have a really heavy guitar too, its solid mohogany.

Britton 08-23-2005 05:38 PM

Yea I play my lp low cause it looks really really cool. Hetfield is the ****ing bomb
he looks cool almost all the time (his guitars are really low) low explorer+metal=cool

I'm doing the bass right? if I am you can send the Drum track and anything else you might have to

brittonmadcap@yahoo.com

Hey some one on this thread call 210-846-3958 after 9pm texas time

Joe 08-23-2005 05:55 PM
do you have you guitar strung low? or like above waist? I have mine low, I think it induces a metal stance automatically
Hanging low? Not really. I solo a lot and it's hard to have it too low. I have it a little above my waist and the neck more slanted up towards me than usual.
I'm doing the bass right? if I am you can send the Drum track and anything else you might have to
Huh?

Edit: Ah, ok. Well I could do something, I'm in the process of downloading Cakewalk Sonar and I will be buying microphones any day.
be back in a minute guys
please don't post spam posts such as this one, it's not AIM.

Britton 08-23-2005 07:21 PM

okay what would you like to do?...I can play all of them...but who is going to sing?

Yea no spamming man

Britton 08-23-2005 07:21 PM

I can do the rythym or the lead or the bass but not singing and some one has already done the drums...you take your pick :thumb:

Chu 08-23-2005 09:07 PM

I can sing, play lead and rhythm (And bass if I must..) I'd rather not though...

I'd like Gocaps to be involved with guitar (He is the original Metallica fan :p)

Master_Of_Puppets 08-23-2005 09:10 PM

Can someone recomend a good easy metallica song that the solo isnt really hard?

RiceMonster 08-23-2005 09:16 PM
Can someone recomend a good easy metallica song that the solo isnt really hard?
The Fade to Black intro is pretty easy.

Master_Of_Puppets 08-23-2005 09:18 PM
The Fade to Black intro is pretty easy.
I can play that already. Is there any others that the WHOLE song isnt that hard?

Chu 08-23-2005 09:19 PM

The first solo in Sanitarium is easy..

Not a Metallica song, but the first solo in Dimmu Borgir's Burn in Hell is easy, hell that whole song is easy..
Can someone recomend a good easy metallica song that the solo isnt really hard?
The unforgiven was the first solo i ever learnd. its not to much of a thrashy song but good tune.

Darkness 08-23-2005 09:35 PM

Whens the thread title going to be changed?

Endless Obsession 08-23-2005 09:50 PM
Whens the thread title going to be changed?
Whats it getting changed to?

Chu 08-23-2005 09:51 PM

Metallica, Inc.

Endless Obsession 08-23-2005 09:52 PM
Metallica, Inc.
Why did they change the names of all the Official threads? Sorry, I was gone for a while so I dont even know whats going on around this place.

Chu 08-23-2005 09:55 PM

I'm not sure, but I guess to stop people creating their own ***Official*** threads
Can someone recomend a good easy metallica song that the solo isnt really hard?
personally you should focus on the rhythm. Kirk is by no means a bad lead player I just find more metallica rhythm playing to interest me.

Cool songs for rhythm parts....
Seek& destroy
Hit The Lights
Battery
Whiplash

yeah, I'm a kill 'em all whore.

as for solos, the ones I'm having fun learning are...
first solo in battery (2:04)
...and justice for all (5:05)

KillemAllforOne83 08-23-2005 10:03 PM

Fade to Black, ...And Justice For All, Nothing Else Matters, The Unforgiven, Sad But True, Fuel and Whiskey in the Jar all have easier solos.

Endless Obsession 08-23-2005 10:04 PM

Who decided on changing it to Metallica, Inc.?

Huber 08-23-2005 10:05 PM

I think everyone has agreed to it.

Endless Obsession 08-23-2005 10:20 PM
I think everyone has agreed to it.
Yeah its fine I was just wondering like did someone just say "okay its MEtallica, Inc." or what happened. Sounds good though.

Huber 08-23-2005 11:17 PM

Munky_magic I think just said it and everyone liked it.

lightningmetal666 08-23-2005 11:20 PM

Yeah, that's pretty much how it went down.

BTW tomorrow or thursday, I should have the rhythm for "For Whom The Bell Tolls" uploaded for you guys. I'm still working on getting a decent decoder though.

Britton 08-23-2005 11:36 PM

Okay so what are the line ups gonna be?

and another thing I was thinking we could have a little compitition in this thing
maybe one group who does one song and another group that does another and we
see who's is better good idea?

or they could do the same song...that way more people can be envolved

let me know about the line ups!

Huber 08-23-2005 11:40 PM

It would be nice if we got a bunch of songs together and chose one to be submitted to the Cover Competition between all the threads and get that back together. That was a really good idea.

Endless Obsession 08-23-2005 11:43 PM

Its cause MetalHEad617 was the guy running it and he hasnt been around much recently so it just kinda died out.

Huber 08-23-2005 11:45 PM

Dr. Jake Destructo actually tried to revive it and take control but the threads never came up with anything, except the Tool thread which has like a complete song and 2 that just need vocals.

lightningmetal666 08-23-2005 11:50 PM

So instead of us all working on the same song we're gonna submit our own cover and everyone votes on it?

Damn, I don't know a drummer. I'd rather we all work on it together and then submit it. This way we'd be able to have quality musicians playing instead of having to borrow the first person that acts like they can play.

Chu 08-23-2005 11:54 PM

I don't think we should all do our own songs..
If someone wants to do rhythm, lead or bass for FWTBT go ahead, I might do rhythm, but I'll see.. :p

Huber 08-23-2005 11:57 PM

No no no. The competition I was talking about was between the threads, not the people in the threads. So like all of us in the Metallica thread produce a cover and submit it, than say the Tool thread will submit one, the Black Sabbath thread, Pink FLoyd thread and so on. Then, everyone votes on it.

Oh, ok that's cool.

Well then let's get a set list going then. :thumb:
We'll pick out the best one after we record most of these to see which sounds best. Do you guys agree?

Some ideas that I had.
Call of the Ktulu (still need to learn it all the way through)
Master of Puppets
Seek and Destroy
(here's a hard one) Blackened
For Whom The Bell Tolls
The Thing That should not be (I have to learn this for my class anyways)

or................

My favorite Metallica song
Harvester of Sorrow

Britton 08-24-2005 12:07 AM

I would love to work with you noble people on fwtbt if we can get a line up
and start working on it!
here's what I can contribute

rrythym
lead
bass
singing
and maybe some producing/mixing
just let me know it's brittonmadcap@yahoo.com

lightningmetal666 08-24-2005 12:11 AM

I can do the rhythm parts to metallica songs pretty well, it's just those damn leads that get me.

Just like James, I've got one hell of a fast downstroke (no pun intended :naughty: )

Talk to you guys tomorrow. I gotta get some sleep. I got to go to school and deal with a bunch of boring music theory classes.

Britton 08-24-2005 01:20 AM

Okay lightningmetal666 on rythym
brittallica on bass
drums.................
lead...................

Lightning if you want to record the rythym and send it to me
I can probably fill in the bass in the next week or so
