Don't even know who he is. Everyone beats on me for loving football and playing all the time, and still having no clue who the players are.
Drew Bledsoe was the anointed "savior" of the Pats when they took him #1 in 1993 but beyond a few really good years he never amounted to a whole lot. He drew the ire of Pats fans everywhere with his slow release, complete lack of mobility, and poor decision making skills. The coup de grace was when he got injured in the second game of the 2001 season, forcing Bill Belichick to turn to sixth round draft pick Tom Brady to run the offense.

The rest, they say, is history.

Good times, good times.

I was at the Raiders/Pats playoff game ("The Tuck") the last game in the history of Foxboro Stadium, played during a snowstorm, featuring a 10 point comeback in the fourth quarter known for a Brady TD scramble (let's see Bledsoe do that!), The Tuck, and a miracle Vinatieri kick that barely made its way through the snow and wind.

I've loved every Pats team from 2001 through last year's team for completely different reasons.

Hmm... over here, italian ice is flavored frozen slush. And yes, cherry owns, as well as lemon.

Wait, which side were you there for for Vinatieri's tying FG? Were you behind the goalpost he was kicking into or on the opposite side?

Oh man, unlucky you. Where we were sitting, the ball was coming right towards us....we didn't see it until it was close to the uprights, and it was just wobbling around like a Tim Wakefield knuckleball...it literally made it just past the crossbar, then immediately plummeted to the ground. Then everyone just started hugging and high-fiving total strangers.

There was beer flying everywhere (from everyone throwing their hands up)

Man, my stepdad (diehard Red Sox, Pats, Bruins, and Celtics fan for just about his whole life) on the car ride home kept saying, "We NEVER win that game! We never win that game!"

I don't think there's anyone happier to see the Red Sox and Patriots win championships than my stepdad...his dad, who was just as big a fan, died in August 2004, two and a half months before the Red Sox won the World Series, though.

I'm so happy we won that game. :D

Your stepdad had to have been "off-the-charts" happy. So sorry about his dad though, he would've been very happy to see the Sox's win. :(

Now we need the Bruins to win one, and stop getting beat by the Canadiens in the first round every year.

He still can't quite believe it.

You ever hear of the Sons of Sam Horn message board? It's a Red Sox board (that Curt Schilling posts on, actually) and before Game 4 of the World Series there was a huge "Win It For..." thread where everyone there started mentioning all the people they'd dedicate (for lack of a better word) the World Series victory to. That's kind of what my stepdad did (even if he never signed up for it).

They actually compliled everything in the thread and turned it into a book, which you can see here

I got a hair cut today. I haven't had one since like June. 1). I'll be banned, but won't notice because I hardly log on as often as I usually did anymore :/
2). I'll just log on on my secondary account, derrrrrr.
