As someone who hates clean vocals in heavy music, the guy is GREAT.

He isn't whiny or annoying at all, and he manages to compose his vocals so that the songs remain thematically and tonally consistent. Which is a 180 from Atreyu.

haha i've played a show with these guys. they are some of the nicest guys out there and they are siiiccckkk live.

and mappy, his harsh isn't that impressive persay, but the fact he can sing cleanly that well and scream that intensely is pretty impressive. at least to me. and the fact he can pull it off live.

I'm pretty sure it was established a long time ago that metalcore is just metal with breakdowns.

Anything with breakdowns can have the word "core" added on to it.

As I Lay Dying was labeled Metalcore back in the good old days, and although I understand that breakdowns don't make a band technically metalcore, it's a fair estimation of style that when someone says 'metalcore' they mean a band like Parkway Drive or August Burns Red or something. (both of which don't really have hardcore sections, just metal with breakdowns)

There are very few bands that are truly metalcore, if you want to be strict about it. 50 percent hardcore and 50 percent metal. Maybe Bridge To Solace and Above This fire and a few others. Most of the **** we talk about in this thread isn't metalcore, then.

We talked about The Eyes Of A Traitor for like four pages and no one said "buh not metalcore not in this thread!"
