I closed it because it had gone massively, massively off-topic, and was basically nothing more than a vehicle for you to repeat the same arguments over and over again (regardless of what points anyone else made), picking and choosing what you replied to, and basically not going into the thing with an open-mind for discussion, which is the whole point of the Politics forum. But, labeling me a racist is a downright silly accusation when amongst my favorite artists are Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Norman Brown and Ray Charles. Heck, I'd wager that I have a greater appreciation for music that black people by and large were responsible for pioneering (jazz, blues) than most people on here.

As it was, it provided a way for you, in the end, to express opinions and say things that would have gotten most regular users (at the very least) a warning of some kind, if not a short ban. As an aside, I do disagree with most of what you said as well, but I'm trying to keep that out of reasons it was a bad thread or that I closed the thread.

Honestly, I did nothing that would warrant a banning for a normal user. It wasn't about rap in general (which I have on numerous instances said is not an inherently inferior genre but has rather been corrupted in the mainstream), but rather the state of mainstream rap. I honestly would not have closed that thread had it come from someone else, and I'd encourage people to do something similar for other genres.

Not at all. Actually I have major problems with the state of white American culture in contemporary times. I admire strong cultures that I'm not part of-Asian, Jewish etc. So, I don't see how I 'fear' other cultures. I criticize other cultures as I criticize my own.

As Ramsey pointed out, the opinion we can cope with. It's that attitude we have a problem with. You're selectively deaf, close-minded, hypocritical, borderline racist, completely unsympathetic, and have almost no perspective.

You continually spew statistics, but when I called you on your ignorant disregard of the usage of qualitative and quantitative research methods, you completely ignored it or said, "Well I like numbers."

Whenever someone gave their experience, you waved it off as anecdotal evidence, but kept using hypothetical anecdotes yourself to refutre other people's arguments.

In short, you're taking your opinion and making an [size=2]a[/size]ss of yourself and everyone else who shares it. You have yet to show any reasonable approach to discourse, and continue spouting the same arguments over and over again no matter how thoroughly they've been refuted until finally most people decide it's not worth the headaches of running in one giant verbal circle.

Personally, I think you're getting a little too comfortable in your position as a mod. You need a serious reality check and an attitude adjustment because you've become absolutely insufferable lately.

Saying that you would arrest every housing project resident that had a good car because they were almost unquestionably guilty of welfare fraud and thievery, in addition to your statement that black people from the inner city are not worthy of your compassion simply because they remain poor were not the most tactful statements ever. I consider the first one pretty racist and stereotypical, which is exactly what we are supposed to prevent.
