I sort of read that review.

I'll probably get the Eno song though.
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
Took me a while to get into that. But now I really like it. Fighting In A Sack is my favorite off there.

Joy Division - Closer

Picked this up at the library t'other day. Will post opinion soon.

Eliminator 10-19-2006 07:21 PM

Did you have an epileptic fit in anticipation?

Zmev 10-19-2006 07:56 PM

UP > Closer

mr_jackalope 10-19-2006 09:52 PM

UP = Closer

They're both too good.

Celph Titled - The Gatalog: A Collection of Chaos

this is incredible

Little Man being Erased 10-20-2006 06:12 AM

The Flaming Lips - Transmissions from the Satellite Heart
Pretty damn great, but it didn't have the instant impact that Clouds Taste Metallic did for me. We'll see how we go from here.

XTC - Skylarking
As awesome as Drums and Wires. Man, this band is quickly becoming one of my favourites.

Bruce Springsteen - Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
It's the Boss. And it's fantastic.

Pulp - This is Hardcore
Holy crap. So awesome. What a fantastic duo of albums, Different Class, and then this.

Spoon - Girls Can Tell
Fantastic as always.

And now I'm listening to Primal Scream - Screamadelica and it's great so far.

Quite a big afternoon.

Oh, and I'm getting back into Deftones because of the new album.

Zappa 10-20-2006 03:30 PM

Just listened to Ecim by Cul De Sac for the first time, and it's wonderful. Vaguely Neu!ish avant-garde rock from the early 90s.

Jawaharal 10-20-2006 03:39 PM

eels - Beautiful Freak
Tom Waits - Real Gone
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Too-Rye-Aye
Marc Ribot - ...Plays The Guitar Works of Franz Casseus

And I've been listening to Girl Like You by Edwyn Collins a lot because it effin rules.

Save Ferris have a pretty cool cover of that song.

Which was about the only good song on that album.

beso negro 10-20-2006 05:23 PM

I just listened to "Time's up" by Heavy Vegetables, and I am not sure what to think of it. Don't they realize how atonal they are?

Yet somehow the dissonance is growing on me.

sr800bkBassist 10-20-2006 05:32 PM

North Of America- "Bayonet Point"

jesus. amazing. seriously.

br3ad_man 10-20-2006 06:37 PM

Sarah Blasko - What the Sea Wants, the Sea Will Have

So damn good.

Happymeal 10-21-2006 09:32 AM

Guided by Voices - Bee Thousand

"Tractor Rape Chain" is so addictive. I might buy their live DVD.

Kyle 10-21-2006 10:11 AM

Just picked up a leak of the new Shins album, it sounds pretty nice.

Do it! The DVD is amazing! Sure, it's ridiculously long (4 hrs), but it's a pure, unadulterated GBV love-fest the entire way.
