i know this could go in the beatles forum, but what album is I am the Walrus from?

i noticed they used the terms "lucy in the sky" and "waiting for the sun" in that song, are they purposely trying to fit song titles in there? or is it just a very strange coincedence?

Illmatic 01-13-2005 10:09 PM

Magical Mystery Tour, I think.

get the fuck out of this thread you soulless bastard

and thanks Disconnection Notice :) and do you think they meant to do that, or just a coincedence? with the titles.

Illmatic 01-13-2005 10:18 PM

Fuck yourself.

EDIT: To the spammer guy. thickasabrick is cool, and as for the song titles thing, I'm not sure myself. The Beatles always claimed it's a coincidence, but you never know.

thickasabrick 01-13-2005 10:28 PM

haha thanks Disconnection Notice, i dont think you needed to add the "thickasabrick is cool" part though, i'm sure most people realize you meant him.

if it had happened earlier in their career, i would have assumed it was a shamless self promotion, but they werent really into "promoting themselves" later in their career..so i dunno what to beleive. we need more opinions on this.

Zgggy 01-13-2005 10:28 PM

Im 16 now, and all I listen to is classic rock. It is so much better than the mainstream crap playing nowadays. Well what I do, my baby sister's bedtime song is Stairway to Heaven and I make her listen to many classic rock bands... Just dont want her becoming like most teenagers are now; either listening to rap and dressing with their "bling-bling" or dressing like a prep while listening to Good Charlotte.

thickasabrick 01-13-2005 10:37 PM

I dont want to be mean to the n00bs, but an Iron Butterfly thread was just made...and after many posts talking about "In a Gadda Da Vida" (or however the hell you spell it), someone with 1 post came and said...wait...it's coming...get this:

"im suprised no one has mentioned garden of eden."

 i couldn't help but laugh.

Velvet Underground & Nico, their debut. It's pretty good, it's got Heroin, Sunday Morning, Waiting For My Man, and a couple other good ones. However, if Nico's vocals bother you (as they do to me) I would suggest Loaded, because I believe it has Sweet Jane.

daniel_b_89 01-14-2005 01:08 AM

mitchell perkins probably has to be one of the ugliest men on this earth.....i mean for one he roots dogs and kangaroos and for 2 i banged his mum

thickasabrick 01-14-2005 10:42 AM

man the choices for the new poll were difficult. a lot of good albums were up there. i felt bad because i havent heard all of Green River, so i couldn't really vote for it. so went with Zeppelin II.

gmoneyguy 01-14-2005 10:52 AM

I was really close to voting LZ II, but they were gonna get enough votes without me, so I voted for Rush

DeusExMachina 01-14-2005 12:24 PM

I haven't voted yet. I'm not a huge fan of any of the choices. I may vote if it comes down to really close, but if not I'll just leave that one.

stevo_79 01-14-2005 12:47 PM

looking for legs diamond tablature. Know where i can get some?

Woodstock 01-14-2005 02:02 PM

I voted for Green River, I'm in a CCR state of mind.

lunch998 01-14-2005 02:14 PM

I went with LZ II because it has a chance to get through.

Hehe that reminds me of a time.

I went Zeppelin II.

Badmoon 01-14-2005 03:55 PM

I voted for CCR. Few bands consistently write good as songs as much as they do.

slowhand 01-14-2005 03:57 PM

Just the other night I began to listen to Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' becuase I couldn't sleep. Everything was dark and silent, so I could hear everything, or most of it... then it came time to hear 'The Great Gig in the Sky' and it happened...

I heard the woman whisper "If you can hear this whisper, you're dying."

That was awesome. I like that sort of crap.

And sorry for the rambling, I just wanted to share it with some people who understand. God bless.

Badmoon 01-14-2005 03:58 PM

 Nice :thumb:

Today I may finally go buy a copy of Revolver.

Thickasabrick, I want a small review on Grateful Dawg. I've never got to see it.

:)

lunch998 01-14-2005 03:58 PM

She says "I never said I was afraid of dying", but yea, I know what you mean. Listening to Wall in darkness ands silence is quite an experience.

Yeah that's pretty cool.

Led Zeppelin II is very consistent(excluding Thank You).

lunch998 01-14-2005 04:13 PM

So any opinions on Trafifc? Someone tried to make an official thread about them and I wanted to direct them in here.

I assume it's Revolver by the Beatles...

If it is, it's great. I love that album. It's a shame that it's overshadowed by Rubber Soul. "For no One" is an exceptional ballad by Paul McCartney, which shows why he has the right to brag. It also contains 3 songs by Harrison (which makes it the album which has more Harrison songs compare with how many other Lennon/McCartney compositions are on the album) and they're all brilliant.

Agh... !!

lunch998 01-14-2005 04:15 PM

I don't think Revolver is overshadowed by Rubber Soul. Actually I think it gets more credit than Rubber Soul.

Woodstock 01-14-2005 04:15 PM

I'm Only Sleeping and For No One are my favorite songs.
