jajaja you don't complain right?
I'd say it's justgood.
Then it seems you're in the minority:p I had another listen to the album again today, there really isn't a bad song on this album at all. Today my favourite track is BTATS:) |
My favorite track is The Legacy, the whole album is a 10 IMO though.
 has anyone played the new ALMOLAD game on the Maiden site? it's actually really fun :p
I haven't heard the new album yet (only listened to the 3 sample tracks), but i'm suprised that the amount of epic tracks aren't starting to bore anyone. I'm guessing they must be pretty well written, since you guys seem to adore them.
I like The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg, but Brighter Than a Thousand Suns seemed rather standard. On the other hand Different World really blew me away because it was more of a dynamic song. Though I really like DoD and BNW, I'd wish that Maiden starts writting more songs ala Different World and cut back a little on the epic tracks. |
I think you're on your own with that school of thought, to be honest...
The "epic" tracks are AWESOME.
im goin to see Maiden & Trivium in december. its frickin great for trivium - maiden are like their #1 influence. imagine touring with maden :|
You'll be going to the Arena show then, same as me...
Touring with Maiden would rule.
I wish they'd get better support bands for this tour =\ Trivium and Bullet for my Valentine?? well atleast I can show up late just for Maiden without missing much.
Last year when they brought Mastodon with em, they fuckin blew me away. EDIT: Jesus Christ, I just realized how much I love Bruce's vocals on FtGGoG, the intro/outro especially. |
how do they chose the support band? Is it the bands, the labels or someone elses choice?
Actually that's a good point, i've got no idea, lol. Probably should've thought of that before I badmouth them for having bad taste in bands
I actually remember hearing something a while back about bringing bands along that will bring out the younger fans maybe, completely forget who said it though. |
Bruce's son has an awful taste in music, maybe he had some influence...

Damn you I was coming here to post that  It's extremely awesome, I was playing it for a good long time earlier, plus you get previews of the AMOLAD songs. |
When me and my friends ordered our maiden tickets we were all pretty excited. Then out of curiosity we checked to see who would be opening for them and were kind of dissapointed to see that it was going to be Bullet For My Vallentine.
I guess that equals more time to check out merchandise section |
If it wasn't for all these crappy support bands i wouldn't have anyone to go see Maiden with so i'm glad they chose them to support them :) Plus i might be able to do some converting while i'm at it.
thats a shame, i havnt heard anything from bullet for my valentine, nor will i bother. Me and my friends r there to see maiden, i dont understand how younger kids like myself cant appreciate great musicians, such as the ones in Iron Maiden.
Yeah, having the little faggy kids who are there for bullet for my vagina and Trivium at the show will really piss me off.
It disgusted me when I read the Kerrang review for AMOLAD on the Maiden website and it said "for fans of: Judas Priest, Trivium"
pfft wtf?
It disgusted me when I read the Kerrang review for AMOLAD on the Maiden website and it said "for fans of: Judas Priest, Trivium"
...this is one of the many reasons why metal magazines suck. They really don't know much about the genre at all. |
well i like judas priest so i should like a matter of life and death which should hopefully be here soon :)
well yeah I like Judas Priest to
but, Trivium hmm |
indeed trivium what i like to see if it ever happend would be
iron maiden, judas priest and motorhead now that would be a show |
I'm pretty sure Maiden and Priest did some touring together in the 80s... Which actually pisses me off now for being like 3 at the time =\
EDIT: just read this on the R&M little news thing at the top..
According to a posting on the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com, MAIDEN recorded four B-sides during the sessions for their new album, "A Matter of Life and Death" — to be used on an upcoming single, currently expected to be "Different Worlds". The four extra songs that were allegedly recorded are as follows: ZZ TOP – "Tush" THIN LIZZY – "Angel of Death" DEEP PURPLE – "Space Truckin'" FOCUS – "Hocus Pocus" There has been no official word yet on where these cover versions will end up or whether all of them will be released at all. Thanks to Blabbermouth.net for teh info.
I'd really love to hear some of those |
Space Truckin and Hocus Pocus should be awesome. I wonder if Bruce will yodel like in Hocus Pocus.
 that'd be something to hear, i think he could pull it off rather well
that's cool, but that rumor of the great gig in the sky being a cover looks even less true now :(
I'd rather hear Space Truckin' than Bruce doing Claire Torrey's vocals in GGITS
