Hehe, I don't doubt that you're a good player, it wasn't a stab at you.. It just reminds me of myself a few years back, me and another guitarist thought the exact same thing about each other when we played together.. And hey! Now we're in a band, and both respect each other immensively.. (he's the sickest down picker I've ever seen.. He plays blackened at about 40 bpm faster than the actual song? All down picked, ouch.. And the fact that I can alt. pick, impresses him.. Hehe..)

Dude3 09-16-2005 04:18 PM

Nah man, no offence taken! I thought you were pretty much right in a way. That reminds me, Blackened is a a friken awesome song. I haven't listened to the Justice album in ages, and its my favorite.

For the most part, I'm just complaining that he couldn't write an "ok" song if his life depended on it. And while I know that I can take over vocal, lyrics, and guitar writing completely, I'm pretty sure he won't want me to do it. And the second I write something good, it will be me playing the whole song, because he wont be able to play it. He better get practicing.

This also really blows, because I <3(heh, why not?) guitar harmonies.

Prince of Darkness 09-16-2005 04:40 PM

Does anyone have a Danny Carey drum solo for me? I want one with video, if anyone has one. Thanks

Darkness 09-16-2005 04:50 PM

I have 1:50 audio one...

Prince of Darkness 09-16-2005 04:51 PM

yah, I've got that one, but is it Video? mine isn't video...

Darkness 09-16-2005 04:54 PM

I believe I said audio.

Huber 09-16-2005 04:54 PM

No video, but on the Volto! Myspace there is a sick solo.

Aren't you like 14 year olds or something? (I'm sorry if I'm way off on this, haha, it's never good to get someones age wrong).. If you are, you got plenty of time to work with him.. Give the guy 6 months to improve or something.. Write some not too tricky, but still harder than he can play, lines.. And try to make him improve!.. It's way easier to get better when you're in a band

Move to Denmark and we have a deal

Dude3 09-16-2005 06:26 PM

Yep, I'm 14. I'll try working with him. Hopefully he'll improve, as well as me. If not, we can always still jam. I should meet the right musicians down the road. Actually, I do have a person in mind. His name is Lucky, and he's pretty much the best guitarist I've met. He sucks at solos for the most part, but his riffage is just..... :amaze:
I really need to start a band with him. He has his own recording studio(somehow, he got $10,000 worth of equipment for free), and he has connections.....with James Murphy(omgz, I no, right?!!). He already has his own band, but we're planning on doing a lot of covers of Death and this band called Foreign Objects(I did a write up, I'll find it). That should be fun.

Faith, where in Florida do you live? I forgot.

EDIT: Here's that write up-

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=359030&highlight=Foreign+objects

Seriously, check this band out. I personally love them.

denboy 09-16-2005 06:29 PM

That sounds great.. Good luck with that!
I'm hoping to meet a better band down the line too, some day.. But as for now, I won't complain, I'm in a band, with a bunch of great guys, and they're all dedicated, and we work great together.. Who cares if we don't play the kind of music I write when I'm alone, when I'm having a great time eh? hehe

Futuro 09-16-2005 06:30 PM
Faith, where in Florida do you live? I forgot.
a little place called tampon....i mean tampa :(

Oh yeah. I live relatively close, in Brandon(Home of Cannibal Corpse if I'm right. I find that cool for some reason.)

mudvayne420 09-17-2005 01:32 PM

i think i may have a clue about what lateralus is about.
I think it could be about someone opening their eyes and having piece of mind. And is able to view the world, now with a clearer vision of where we're going in this Messed up World.
Thats my 2 cents on the lateralus album as a whole.

Artemician 09-17-2005 01:43 PM

My band has no problem with musician talent, it's just that we've been going nowhere fast for the last year or so. Ironic, no?

Huber 09-17-2005 02:28 PM

I'm seeing VOLTO! on the 28th. Woohoo!

The "WP Excerpt Live" clip on there Myspace is amazing.

maggot4875 09-17-2005 02:59 PM

you can go to songfacts.com and click t then tool and get songmeanings, quotes from manyard about some songs and facts

Dude3 09-17-2005 03:16 PM

Don't you hate it when you write a riff, and then you notice its already a song?

I just wrote the first electric riff for Opeth's "The Funeral Portrait". I've also done this for the main riff in "Sunshine of your Love". I should be rich.

Yeah so, if that whole "release date" thing was real, the new Tool cd would have been in stores next Monday. I just thought I'd say that.

It's almost Tool day!

3074326 09-17-2005 04:31 PM

I remember rumors about Tool releasing the new album in early 2005. Haha

I don't expect it until this time next year.

Darkness 09-17-2005 04:48 PM

Maybe a little earlier, like March - June.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-17-2005 04:56 PM
