 That's what my friend and I said. I really don't understand how, even if someone tried, could make something that bad.

Rollo47 11-06-2004 09:42 AM

Back again. What are you all up to?
I'm bored as anything.

Tryxx 11-06-2004 09:47 AM

Nothing much Rollo. Bored too.

risbo 11-06-2004 09:48 AM

Hey Rollo want to hurt your soul?

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/p...nocidemusic.htm

Have a listen.

ShelBel 11-06-2004 09:51 AM

I am just not going to subject myself to it, thank you very much. Common consensus is that its bad; inflicting it on my ears would be the aural equivalent of the following:

Guy1: Dude, I farted.
Guy2: *sniffs* Yeah, you did!

:D

risbo 11-06-2004 09:53 AM

 Oh come on ShelBel, your going to sit there and tell me your not the least bit curious?

ShelBel 11-06-2004 09:55 AM

I am. ;)

Dieforitall89 11-06-2004 09:56 AM

Fuel is pumping engines. . .*lalalalalla*

ShelBel 11-06-2004 10:03 AM

???

Is that the equivalent of *fingers stuck in ears, yelling "I can't hear you, LALALALALALALA!" ;)

ShelBel 11-06-2004 10:22 AM

Ah. Got it.

Googling for lyrics... I've gotten really good at that. Another board I frequent is running a song lyric game, someone posts a lyric (ANY lyric) and you have to figure out the song and artist, then its your turn.

The last song I got was "Hangin' Tough" by NKotB. I just about DIED when the Google result came back, I couldn't believe someone picked that! I laughed. It stumped a lot of people!

Rollo47 11-06-2004 10:26 AM

New recording up, have a listen and tell me what you think, if you're bored.

http://www.soundclick.com/rollo47

It's called "Thinking"

:p cant help it.

RaVen_Bassist 11-06-2004 10:37 AM

rollo, this is excellent. great tone, technically good, and it grooves pretty well. excellent use of harmonics. i like the mellow kind of groove you have going. almost like a slow blues jam. definitely worth pausing muse. how many takes did you need to get it and what is your recording set up?

Rollo47 11-06-2004 10:40 AM

Did that in one take, amazingly :D

I recorded straight from my passive Samick (P.O.S.) bass to my PC, mixed it using Adobe Audition.

It's in DADF tuning.

RaVen_Bassist 11-06-2004 10:43 AM

wow. very nice. congrats on a good piece.

i get asked for recordings so much that its not funny. well, maybe a little funny. the only reason i dont is that i'm a quality freak. if its not studio quality, i wont do it, and i dont have the money for studio quality stuff.

Rollo47 11-06-2004 10:46 AM

Thanks a lot man. It's always nice to have someone compliment your work.

Wintermute 11-06-2004 11:04 AM

So I met a strange drunkard today... I was in Pontypridd, in a pawn shop trying out an acoustic bass (Starfire, £110, not the highest quality in the world but not bad for the price) and this guy staggers in. He stares at me for about a minute while I play Southbound Pachyderm, then he says "woah, keep it up, you'll make a lot of money..." then he mumbles something inchoherent about enjoyment factors, before pointing out that the D string was slightly sharp.

He was right, too.

That reminds me of the drunken gunsmith from Trigun... Find him! Maybe he's a bass legend who lost his way after some tragedy!

ridethelightning 11-06-2004 11:21 AM

if any of you want to fill in we need entries by midnight

ShelBel 11-06-2004 11:24 AM
