the sweeps in stabwound
<3 |
harmonic minor scales give me a boner
They're pretty decent for new MDM, they'll be fun to catch at the Sterling in May. And new GB and new GOV back to back = ****ing exciting. Except law schools look for Philosophy majors...
you in law school |
It's a bunch of rich kids who like to argue about how right they are until they get their way... and they're all alcoholics, so it's really the perfect thing for me.
I'm a sucker for necrophagist neoclassical sweepz
I used to like Necrophagist (in 9th grade), I honestly don't even remember what they sound like. Also, Ethan tyvm for that American Spirit yesterday. |
they aren't as amazing as everyone makes them out to be imo, they are good but get boring fast. I think dude is an awesome guitarist tho
|
onset is as amazing as everyone makes it out to be. epitaph however is not
|

Well Obscura's solos.... that's basically Necrophagist haha. One of necro's former member is a part of them.
Also, Ethan tyvm for that American Spirit yesterday.
no praaaablem
onset is as amazing as everyone makes it out to be. epitaph however is not
Epitaph is actually much better than Onset. |
they aren't as amazing as everyone makes them out to be imo, they are good but get boring fast. I think dude is an awesome guitarist tho
He is skilled, but as I recall, I don't really enjoy his whole songwriting... there's not much that's actually catchy to it. |
nobody thinks they're amazing here sean, once again you prove you're an idiot
Onset is a a tad better than Epitaph I've had To Breathe in Casket stuck in my head all day actually
there's not much that's actually catchy to it.
dumbest post you've made today, saying a lot |
Epitaph has some catchy bits, Stabwound of course, and then there's the title track.
Also Foul Body Autopsy is a ridiculously catchy song. |
@ADB: Nobody on here does, must mean nobody at all does...
Wait, nm, this is the forum where Integrity isn't metalcore. @Ethan, Foul Body Autopsy and Mutilate The Stillborn were my favorites by them a few years ago. |
Epitaph is actually much better than Onset.
nah
Onset is a a tad better than Epitaph
ya |
Epitaph is actually much better than Onset.
mehhh |
I remember liking Onset more.
|
the Advanced Corpse Tumor solo is extremely badass, too bad the rest of the song isnt up to par
|
Whatever, it has one of the best titles ever, haha.
|
Wait, nm, this is the forum where Integrity isn't metalcore.
LOL although okay I think I have them more in the hardcore category in my head but whatever |
how can you have a band "more in the hardcore category" in your head
wtf |
that was a really awkward way of me saying I consider them hardcore
|
A hardcore band with a lot of metal influence that sounds like every other metalcore band that came out at the same time they did...
|
the Advanced Corpse Tumor solo is extremely badass, too bad the rest of the song isnt up to par
culinary hyperversity is my fav necrophags solo |
Oh well I have no metalcore from that period so I wouldn't know.
|
Just listen to Indecision and Unbroken.
|
Necrophagist may be talented, but they can't write songs for sh*t. i don't care how technical you are, songwriting is what it all comes down to.
|
care to elaborate why the songwriting is so terrible
|
To me, it, for the most part, sounds sterile.
Necrophagist may be talented, but they can't write songs for sh*t. i don't care how technical you are, songwriting is what it all comes down to.
Yeah dude, I completely ****ing agree with you. The only tech death bands I'm really into = Capharnaum, Hacksaw To The Throat (debatably MDM), Gorguts, and Gory Blister. |
i agree to a point
|
I've had a major obsession with Bolt Thrower the past week, and to a lesser extent Assuck.
|
An obsession with Bolt Thrower? That's surprising.
My DM listening for the past week has basically been Cartilage, GOV, Embrace The End, and Death Breath. |
Bolt Thrower is just ****ing heavy.
|
Yeah, Bolt Thrower is great, I just don't think they're as good as everyone on here hypes them up to be.
|
I've had a major obsession with Bolt Thrower the past week
Same. Absolutely fantastic when you're running. |
Yeah, Bolt Thrower is great, I just don't think they're as good as everyone on here hypes them up to be.
same here. i listened through a few albums and was like "wtf yeah this is heavy but..."
|
Shreds of sanniitttyyy
|
same here. i listened through a few albums and was like "wtf yeah this is heavy but..."
They're certainly more melodic and a bit slower than the average DM band, but that doesn't make them any less "death metaly". They just represent the opposite end of the genre's spectrum. |
What the ****? Nobody said anything about Bolt Thrower not being death metal, just they're not as good as everyone says they are.
I mean, they're a good band, but they're no As Blood Runs Black. |
They're certainly more melodic and a bit slower than the average DM band, but that doesn't make them any less "death metaly". They just represent the opposite end of the genre's spectrum.
what they are pretty standard death metal and yea i agree with mappy they are overrated here. but i still like what i've heard so far. |
Yeah, they're definitely enjoyable.
Still no Arsis. |
I realize no one was questioning if they're death metal. I was trying to point out that some people may not find them as good because they don't have blistering fast, intricate riffs, etc. They're just more simple. They're like the AC/DC of DM. They play simple, yet catchy as hell riffs and most of their albums sound very similar but for what they are, they're great.
|
YEAH BRO, YOU GOT IT MAN
I only listen to songs that are in the range of 666 and 1488 bpm. |
Forget it. You're taking the very simple point I was trying to make out of proportion.
