Maybe, but Lars was bitching about how he wished someone would throw him a nice birthday party with dutch food. And since he is dutch(I think) it would make sense that Kirk would be hawaiian.

But who knows, I could be totally wrong.
lars is from zweden or something.. he always has that swedish (my bum is on the swedishhhh © tom green) flag on his drumkit

ibanez23 08-20-2005 04:44 AM

i just watched the some kind of monster documentary
i dont know about anyone else but it kind of made me respect st.anger, not because of the music, but of the thoughts, feelings and ideas that fuelled it
and to add i thought that during the movie lars said he is dutch?? neways, thought it was a good movie to watch, their producer guy seems like a great guy. what did everyone else think about skom?

Chu 08-20-2005 04:57 AM

Pretty much exactly the same way you felt about it actually!

It gave me a new respect for St. Anger definately, I could listen to it with a clear head about Metallica, when you think about it and compare it to how Metallica were at the time, it's a totally new way to write songs. I think they did a pretty good job too! Although I was/am really disaapointed at Lar's drums..

ibanez23 08-20-2005 05:30 AM

yeah thats what i was thinking when i heard st.anger for the first time, lars didnt really try to make st anger as good as it could b for some reason, dont ya rekon kirk shud hav more of a say? hes very laid back and un opinionated if thats a word

lewy_ac/dc 08-20-2005 05:52 AM

hey metallica rock nbut i think they have lost their ways...... but thats because james had a massive rehab moment and the bassist left and so on. it might spice it up agian like when they did s&m (not the way you like it guys ;)

lewy_ac/dc 08-20-2005 05:53 AM

oh and btw poo

Huber 08-20-2005 06:25 AM

It's stuff like that last post of yours that can get you banned.

I'm sure after a few listens I'll like whatever Metallica puts out this time. I'm not expecting anything spectacular, so when I don't get another Master of Puppets I'm not going to cry a river over it like people did with St. Anger.

Jev 08-20-2005 08:09 AM

I reckon it'll be better than St. Anger, i think Rob might help them come up with a few good ideas.

zandordandor 08-20-2005 08:24 AM

Lars is from Denmark so the flags he uses on his drumkits are danish

Britton 08-20-2005 02:40 PM

Copenhagen to be precise

"sometimes I just Missed My Little Danish buddy"

Metallideth666 08-20-2005 02:47 PM

lars is from denmark

"i just wanted to talk to my little danish friend"
-dave mustaine-

metalhead_matt 08-20-2005 03:29 PM

james is from LA
lars is from gentofte, denmark
kirk is from San Francisco
rob is from california

im so uncool...

vashts80 08-20-2005 03:48 PM
It was his song in the first place, and he asked them not to use it after he left, so he is perfectly entitled to use it. If anyone shouldn't have used it it is Metallica. Why couldn't they write another song?

By the way, Killing Is My Business... was released in 1984, one year after Kill 'Em All, not two.
It was released in 1985, but I'm sure the recording was probably done in 83-84.

hetfieldfan86 08-20-2005 04:48 PM

Yeah, i agree w/ all u guys about SKOM and St anger. And idk if any of u have heard much of the live stuff from last yr or 03...but i like the new vibe they got w/ Rob....and it can only get better from here ya know?

Master_Of_Puppets 08-20-2005 05:53 PM

i agree. I was really dissapointed about the solos :upset: but the rest is good(except Lars)

ibanez23 08-20-2005 08:26 PM
i agree. I was really dissapointed about the solos :upset: but the rest is good(except Lars)
yeah i was surprised there were no solos, but is an angry album , with rob aboard i think the next album will be quite good, if its a st.anger with solos i will be very pleased, cant wait for the next album to come out, i suggest to every metallica fan not pleased with st anger to watch SKOM, it will open your eyes to the album

JACKROXYOU 08-20-2005 08:36 PM

solos were added live and they made them much better

Killtacular 08-20-2005 08:36 PM

I watched SKoM, and now I understand why it was crap. That doesn't change the fact that it's awful, though.

Chu 08-20-2005 09:42 PM

Meh, personally I think it's the best original release since ...AJFA!
So to you sir, I say fuck you.

Chu 08-20-2005 09:55 PM

...AJFA's still good, better then Load, ReLoad, and I'll say 83.4% of Metallica.. :)

FlyingPaul_83 08-20-2005 10:04 PM
...AJFA's still good, better then Load, ReLoad, and I'll say 83.4% of Metallica.. :)
Chu 08-20-2005 10:08 PM

I have been listening to it a bit..
Deperate times call for desperate measures! Especially when running out of Metallica songs you haven't heard x^10 times.. :upset:

thelittledrummerboy 08-20-2005 10:08 PM

thelittledrummerboy 08-20-2005 10:17 PM
Dude, there's 1041 pages. Don't you think a question on the first page would have been answered by now? Oh about 100+ times...
FlyingPaul_83 08-20-2005 10:18 PM
Who are you talking to?
Chu 08-20-2005 10:19 PM

I_LOVE_ROCK
There's a question on the first page that's like "What are some good Metallica songs?" or something similar.

JACKROXYOU 08-20-2005 10:25 PM

that was a long time ago

i think i posted at like page 100 something

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 08:24 AM
can someone suggest more songs from metallica that are decent besides

master of puppets

the unforgivin

i know there is more, those are just the ones im familiar with
that's on the first page

Jev 08-21-2005 01:09 PM

Has anyone here actually read the whole of the So What book. I'm halfway through and i think Lars is boring as fuck.

hetfieldfan86 08-21-2005 01:39 PM

Hahahaha..nice bro..yeah..i've read a good part of it....and he is at times..but i also think hes kinda funny at times...like w/ fan letters..that part can be fun. and some of that book is really informative. Rock ON!!!!

RustedPieces 08-21-2005 01:58 PM

Is it just me, or is everything Lars says funny? Whenever he swears or something in SKOM I laugh so hard. No matter what he says it's funny to me, because of his accent.

Jev 08-21-2005 02:02 PM

Yeah he sounds funny when he swears but he just goes on and on and on.

Jev 08-21-2005 03:27 PM

Where are all my Metall-friends?

Britton 08-21-2005 08:47 PM
