Yeah, it's a habit. When I first got AIM I always hit the y key twice by accident. It just stuck. Now, everyone does it. I swear I started the "heyy" thing when people IM you with two y's (unless it's a typo).

i did it once in the summer due to boredom, i challenged myself to see how long i could stay awake. it was 2 summers ago.
this past summer though i just had some plain old insomnia, was up until at least 5 a.m. every single night, no matter what kind of a sleep i did end up getting, i couldn't sleep until the earliest 5.
