I'm buying streetlight tix this weekend for cleveland. They're playing at one of our smaller venues, not like House of Blues last time. In my opinion, they have taken ska, and turned it into a serious genre of music. And I reward them for that. It's become more sophistocated, and serious. However, I still do enjoy the fun ska. Which is why with Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Streetlight Manifesto, and Against All Authority (eh), this should be the best show I've ever been to.

incubass 07-12-2007 09:53 AM

^ i just came back from that show and it was AMAZING. AAA was nothing special all the songs sound the same(fast punk for verse/chorus, then a trumpet interlude). Next was SM after some technical difficulties they played awesome, the whole crowd was singin everyword besides for the 2 new songs they played. The RBF was up and they have to have the best stage presnce of any band ever, they played really tight. they did a fews songs off thier new album and they started the show with sellout which is unusual. Then LTj was on but i didnt stay fo them since i saw them less than 2 months ago.

CombatRock 07-29-2007 12:12 AM

I just got back from thier show, it was alright Streetlight didnt play that much only like 45 minutes but they did good, AAA sucked and so did Reel Big Fish. It was meehh..

Twin Human Highway Flares 07-29-2007 12:25 AM

I half want to see this tour but
A) Bad venue/expensive as s'hit
B) Want to see Streetlight headline.

Meh. I dunno.

CombatRock 07-29-2007 12:32 AM

I would save your money and wait till Streetlight headlines are tour.

asdf 07-29-2007 12:34 AM

When I saw streetlight headline it was cheaper than when I saw them with RBF, one of the reasons the first show was better.

I wish that the Gig Diary thread wasn't deleted by hackers, because I'm pretty sure I wrote a review of the show in there.

Jessizzle 07-29-2007 06:56 AM

yeep, im seeing them headline for 14$ wooo

Henrik 08-02-2007 10:06 AM

I'm seeing Streetlight on the 18th in Columbus. I saw them back in November in Pittsburgh (with RBF again). They were amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing them again, seeing as I've been a big fan for a little over a year now.

Catchthe22 08-13-2007 11:25 AM

best parts of a show is when you lose your friend(s) in the crowd and then 10 minutes later you see them and you are both sweaty singin your lungs out.

Mr Benners 08-14-2007 06:20 AM

New official band website appears to be up, in summary:

antihippy 08-14-2007 06:28 AM

Mr Benners 08-14-2007 06:44 AM

It mentions going to places that SM have never toured in before, so maybe you'll be lucky!

Henrik 08-14-2007 04:25 PM

New websites looks good.

So what do you guys think about them making a video? I can't really se any reason why they should do so.
Other than that it probably doesn't matter, as long as they don't get enormously big.

Catchthe22 08-14-2007 04:28 PM

you shouldnt be scared about a band getting big. Just be scared if they start to suck. Im happy they are making a video.
