Sooo...I just tried my new 16" crash with the old 18" crash, the only difference between them is the 16" crash has Projection crash written on it and the other doesnt....and the new one sounds crap!!! its like banging on a radiator :(

Where have I gone wrong?!

CasB 12-30-2005 02:36 PM

You got zildjians, that's the first mistake :p

j/k I just don't like zils. Hmm what serie is the 18"?

thatdrummerguy 12-30-2005 02:38 PM

You didnt try it before it you bought it didnt you.

White 12-30-2005 03:30 PM

Ok, heres my situation right now, and I need help. Ok I currently have a Mapex M series, Kit, With One Zilco Ride/crash, No hi ahts or anytihng just that for a cymbal (I jsut bought the set) and Im wondeirng weather I should save for months to buy a Custom K Dark Crash, and A Sabian Neil PeartParagon Ride, and New Beats or Just buy a ZBT pack (Or B8 probably the B8s) and then just start saving after that? caues if I boguht a cheap beginners pack, Id have somthing to play on, if I saved up, Id ahve better cymbals quicker, but it would be a LONG time before I got those cymbals, and until then Id have nothing to play with. What do I do???????

Seafroggys 12-30-2005 06:54 PM

Get the New Beats....

frankly if you needed something to play on, buy cymbal pads or cheap *** brass cymbals. Ask around, you can probably get these for free from somebody.

But get the New Beats

ludvista29 12-30-2005 07:04 PM
if you have no idea on what ride to get, just get some new beats
i just got them fer xmas :thumb:

I'm having trouble decieding between the 22" K Heavy ride and the 22" K Custom ride, which of these do you think is more versatile and would complement 14" A New Beats or Mastersounds the best? Also, any information you could tell me with your own experience with these cymbals is welcome and appreciated.

Tim 01-01-2006 03:42 PM

the K heavy would be more versatile. Its heavier than the K custom.

Tom 01-01-2006 04:12 PM

anyone know the cymbal gigner baker (from cream) uses. they have the little things dangling through them around the edge

Drum Phil 01-01-2006 04:20 PM

Sizzle? Swish knocker?
the K heavy would be more versatile. Its heavier than the K custom.
Speaking of the K Heavy, what is the Sabian equivalent to that cymbal?? The HH Rock Ride or the HH Heavy Ride??

Oh, and what finish do the HHX crashes come in?? They don't have a choice between brilliant and traditional on massmusic, and I'm thinking they're probably traditional... but I wanna make sure so that other cymbals I order match up.

Tim 01-01-2006 10:12 PM

I beleive HHX are just traditional. K equivalent would probably be the HH heavy

Chester 01-01-2006 10:21 PM

lol... i love how zildjian and sabian cymbals have like the exact matched cymbal as the other company.
of course we all know thats "no coinsidence".
