Hey I'm sorry if this was asked allready but:

For anyone that has The Live At Pompeii DVD...What the hell is up with that 2 headed dog? It seems familiar.

:thumb:
It is just a picture, with the same picture reversed next to it.

Roger Waters looks liek a Monkey on the picture with him smoking :amaze:

He rules on the interview

"Are you happy with the film?"

Roger: *blows smoke*... ... ... "What do you mean happy?"

"Do you feel that it is going in a direction that is interesting or not?"

Roger:..."What do you mean interesting?"

He looks so stoned :p

I love that part besides the music that made the movie.
Yes, it really does make more sense than some random subliminal Stairway to Heaven-esque message.

So, does anyone know who it was who said that?
Wasn't it Water's?

If not, then I bet it's that chick who sings throughout the song.

magicbus 02-20-2005 02:21 PM

I'm pretty sure it was Clare Torry, the person who sings. I don't think they interviewed any other girls.

pigonthewing82 02-20-2005 09:18 PM

I heard that Pink Floyd are getting sued because the girl who had the vocal solo on Dark Side of The Moon wants more money. She wants money for writting part of the song, because the band members didn't told her just to sing whatever she wanted. Do you think she should get it \?

WetNoodle 02-20-2005 09:22 PM

I thought the ones who were suing were the kids that sing in Another Brick In The wall?

Anyway, it's an old issue now. They should just get over it.

Yea I only heard about that. Those douchebags, I think it would be enough to say you sang on a Pink Floyd track, especially one of their most well known songs.

xHysteriax 02-20-2005 09:36 PM

At the beginning of great gig in the sky waters i believe says Im not afraid of dying. Any time will do i dont mind. Why should i be afraid of dying theres no reason for it.

xHysteriax 02-20-2005 09:40 PM

And my fav. song by them for some reason is Learning to Fly. Second is welcome to the machine. BTW that piano in Great Gig in the Sky is excellent

I've never heard anything about that.

xHysteriax 02-20-2005 09:50 PM

its at about the 30 sec mark and its some guy sayin it real soft

lunch998 02-20-2005 09:54 PM
its at about the 30 sec mark and its some guy sayin it real soft
I think you might have it confused with the women who says "I never said I was afraid of dying", at around 3:33.
I think you might have it confused with the women who says "I never said I was afraid of dying", at around 3:33.
no he's talking about the guy who speaks before clare torry starts singing. in any case, not waters. it occurs from about 0:39 to 0:52

Exactly. I would have given my left lung to do that

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-20-2005 11:28 PM

Greedy English bastards

I woulda given both of my lungs to be on The Wall. Maybe only one. :upset:

Excellent, a Momentary Lapse Of Reason fan. I really like Learning To Fly as well, great solo.

magicbus 02-21-2005 09:36 AM

"I'm not frightened of dying. Any time will do, I don't Mind."

Spoken by Jerry Driscoll, the Abbey Road doorman.

Oh yeah, it's probably one of my fav Floyd songs now.

Grant 02-21-2005 03:25 PM

I despise AMLOR, but enjoy Division Bell. Learning to Fly is cool but it's too poppy for me to place it on a pedestal.

Dried Muffin Remnants 02-21-2005 03:38 PM

My favorite songs of Pink Floyd are the trippy ones with structure. I don't like the really poppy ones.

Shazzam 02-21-2005 04:16 PM
My favorite songs of Pink Floyd are the trippy ones with structure. I don't like the really poppy ones.
Same here, but LTF is the only exception.

Dried Muffin Remnants 02-21-2005 04:30 PM

Actually, Fearless is kind of poppy, but I like that one. I think it's off Meddle.

Grant 02-21-2005 04:33 PM

It is from Meddle, it's amazing how much it sounds like Dark Side of the Moon.

Sam 02-21-2005 05:15 PM

Yea, DSotM really does sound alot like a cleaned -up version of Meddle.

Thor 02-21-2005 06:14 PM
Yea, DSotM really does sound alot like a cleaned -up version of Meddle.
I was going to say the same thing.

pigonthewing82 02-21-2005 07:02 PM

I don't like Dark Side of the Moon that much, I mean there are so many other Pink Floyd cds that are much better.

magicbus 02-21-2005 07:32 PM
I don't like Dark Side of the Moon that much, I mean there are so many other Pink Floyd cds that are much better.
DSOTM is the most popular album among fanboys, but that doesn't make it a bad album. I think it was a great album, everything about it is good and right.

Riva 02-21-2005 07:38 PM

Actually I think MLOR is more hard rock than poppy, so I suppose it is commercialised, but then, I can't be bothered being that elitist. :)
DSOTM is the most popular album among fanboys, but that doesn't make it a bad album. I think it was a great album, everything about it is good and right.
Oh no I don't get me wrong Dark Side of the Moon is a great album, but compared to their other work I'm kind of wondering why thats so well known.

Distant Echoes 02-21-2005 08:31 PM

I think DSOTM is the most perfect album composed - in terms that everything aimed for the creation of it was matched perfectly. IMO, i think its the best, but id understand other peoples for not liking it the most, with the fact of its perfectness still standing.

slowhand 02-22-2005 05:37 PM

I think DSOTM is the perfect introductory album for Pink Floyd. It's very 'listener friendly.' In fact, if it wasn't for that album, I wouldn't be into Pink Floyd.

I saw the Wall first... I liked it and all, but it never inspired me to buy something from them. After giving DSOTM a try, I really took a liking to them and how they were and decided to start buying some of their other stuff.

Distant Echoes 02-22-2005 06:15 PM

After i got used to all the albums from 73-79, their major concept albums, it was sort of hard to cope with their pre-DSOTM works, but after listening to each song, its sort of trippy in its own individual way...so i found it easy to get used to quickly.

NP: set the controls for the heart of the sun

DeusExMachina 02-22-2005 06:38 PM

STCFTHOTS (man, that's a big acronym) is a weird song. It's not the greatest when you listen to it, (to me, at least) but it's really infectious. It's been in my head for weeks.

pigonthewing82 02-22-2005 09:44 PM

You know I've been thinking about it, and Pink Floyd really stopped working good together as a band after Meddle. In their pre Meddle days all the instruments played a huge role. As they went on the instrumentals dropped off until after they broke up.

yeah, i don't see whats so good about it too, people are always talking about the guitar solo on Time and other things from the album but their stuff off of Meddle or Animals is a lot more complex. i think all it is is DSotM is so calm and relaxing, compared to their other stuff, a great album to mellow out to or other things.

Thats very true, I know exactly what you mean.

DeusExMachina 02-22-2005 09:57 PM

I love DSOTM. Sure, Meddle can be more complex, but I think DSOTM flows better than any of their albums, except possibly WYWH.

eh?

All the instruments are used on both of the Shine on you crazy Diamonds. Dogs brilliantly fuses the guitar and keyboard. I would say the instruments dropped off from "The Wall" to "MLOR".
