There is a live version of Without A Face on Live & Rare.

Every RATM fan should have that album. It's awesome.
Live & Rare is awesome, I love the version of Bullet in the Head.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-12-2006 03:27 AM

I used to play that on guitar when I was first learning....

Apocalyptic Raids 01-12-2006 04:37 AM

I've never gotten around to learning it.

I haven't played a RATM song in ages actually. Guerilla Radio was the first song I learnt on guitar, Bombtrack was second.

nowitzki 01-12-2006 04:58 AM

When I was first learning to play bass all I ever used to play was RATM.

Where the fudge can I get Live and Rare?

Apocalyptic Raids 01-12-2006 08:42 AM

I think you can get it as an import from Japan.

Or just downoad it, like I did. I saw it in stores here once, but it was $60.

Bass_ment 01-12-2006 12:21 PM

I found Live and Rare in a tiny record shop in the Netherlands who has some old guy in a leather vest blasting Dream Theater through some huge speakers.

If looking for it look in small, independant shops which have less customers and therefore more chance of you being the first to buy it. Also be prepared to pay a large sum for it. I payed over 40 Euros.

oh yeah and the live Bullet in the Head in their has THE best Morello guitar work. Ever.

nowitzki 01-12-2006 12:34 PM

I think I paid about £13-15 for my copy, this was a few years ago. Looks like its harder to get hold of now.

Bass_ment 01-12-2006 02:31 PM

^^^^
aww man, Way too lucky!

Oh well I was so blinded by the meer fact that I had found it anywhere that I likely would have got it if the price was a kidney and three toes.

Rage Against the Machine (when they were still together) was my favorite band of all time. I can't name an album they made which i didn't absolutely love. Everything they do is amazing...

The DVD Live at Grand Olympic came out, i immediately HAD to see it. I picked it up, and it was everything i hoped a Live concert could be, all that AND a bag of chips. All their best songs were on it, and even the Cypress Hill thing was tolerable (barely). Seeing Timmy C pumpin' the bass in Calm Like a Bomb was amazing. just the pure energy of the crowd got me going.

^^ my two Cents on RATM

Haha, I thought that bit was awesome. It is a great show, but I think the best performance is the Battle of Mexico city, that show is insane. Just a shame the DVD wasn't edited to great (over use of fancy camera effects).

Stoo 01-13-2006 07:37 PM

As far as live performance is concerned the Battle Of Mexico City is better. But hey, who the hell am I to talk I wasn't at any of their concerts.

*Has seen Killing In The Name live :p*

As I'm sure any of you other Audioslave fans have. :chug:

I'm not too big a fan, but I might pick BOMC up because I was born there. Guerilla Radio kicks ***, I think that song got me into the path to metal.

Stoo 01-13-2006 07:49 PM

I honestly think they'll make more music together. Where it be now or in 10 years, they will.

So much **** goin on in the world, how can the biggest political hard rock band have nothing to say?? What I mean by that is, they must have something to say through Rage Against The Machine. I'm fully aware how politically active Tom and Zack are. (Axis Of Justice and the like).

Rage Against The Machine communicated to the younger generation more effectively than anyone/anything else could.

They need to show Green Day the right Fcking way to make a political album.

/Jst watched Farenhiet 9/11.

/Is feeling angry towards America.

Stoo 01-13-2006 08:03 PM

Intriguing first post.

nowitzki 01-13-2006 08:08 PM

I concur. If Rage make you want to kill, be sure to stay away from Cannibal Corpse.

Stoo 01-13-2006 08:16 PM

And Jessica Simpson.

yeah, audioslave is awesome, and a completely different genre than their former RATM. Their first album seemed to me that they couldnt find what they were looking for in a band, tho they released some good sons, i.e Like a Stone, Show me How to Live.

Out of Exile blew me away, with some really great songs, and an awesome single. The music vid rocks too

I'm of the oppposite mind. 'Audioslave' was the best album a new band from different styles that was still cementing together could release. Out of Exile didnt really push my buttons, particularly because Morello seems to be getting lazier in his playing. I mean, that 'solo' in The Worm? What was that?

nowitzki 01-15-2006 11:58 AM

Both Audioslave albums are good in places, I think the band are capable of more though. Of the two I prefer s/t.

Mambuto_O'Mally 01-15-2006 12:06 PM

I have actually listened to all of both albums, and there are some amazing songs on both: The Curse, The Last Remaining Light, and Bring 'Em Back Alive I hadn't heard till recently and they are great. Except the last part to the Curse solo. That ruins it for me.

nobodyblossomsforever 01-15-2006 01:11 PM

Audioslave is ok, but only because of the guitar. I'm not much on Audioslave's singer, his voice just doesn't seem to give as much power in the music as Zack De La Rocha did.
