Thanks.
If anyone lives in an area where you get Chicago radio stations, check out 97.9 WLUP. Every Wednesday night at 10, they play an hour of just PF. |

we have a station down here that plays the beatles every morning for an hour, and on Sundays, they play 3 straight hours of all beatles & beatle related material (Covers, outtakes, interviews, etc.), and they have some interesting stuff, i dont know how they get hold of it.
But i dont know if i could take floyd on the radio if it werent the whole album all the way through...i cant stand just listening to random songs by them. |

I hate the patriots, but i won 40 bucks on a bet last week on them so that was pretty sweet...but i think their going to kill the eagles in jacksonville, though we deserve it more, theyve had their moment - i mean 3 moments
but the station is alright, except the morning show sucks hard with John DeBello. Alot of really famous musicians knows him, but everybody other then that hates him, even the co-anchor They really play an equal mix of all their bands unlike other stations tha have favorites...No more FLoyd then Zeppelin, or Zeppelin then Cream, and so on. |
1. DSOTM and WYWH
2. Meddle 3. Ummagumma 4. The Wall 5. Animals |
Can someone tell me more about Syd Barrett?
|
Somebody can defintaly get in depth with him here, but all you should know is he started with floyd as a guitarist and songwriter, and the band defintaly wouldnt have got anywere without him, but he sort of went crazy in a few years, like refusing to play in the middle of concerts and had some really insane lyrics the band couldnt accept, so he was simply not picked up for a show one night, and replaced with gilmour.
Id personally like to know more about him too, since i only own 1 album from his years |
Actually a² + b² = c²
I was referring the the linear equation of a line in general form, but that's true also. |
y=mx+b?
And what brought up math? |
y=mx+b?
And what brought up math?
No, that's slope-intercept form. General form is Ax+By=C. |
Oh I never learned that one.

What are your guy's (& gals) favorite Floyd solo's?
For me it'd have to be: 1. Comfortably Numb (I enjoy both of them equally) 2. Another Brick In the Wall Pt.2 3. Time |
SOYCD(Parts 6-9)
Dogs I'm also going to cheat and call the riff at the end of Sheep a solo. |
A=½·h+b¹+b²
I hate math. My favorite solo is from Hey You. Not my favorite song, I like alot more than that one, but the solo has so much fucking emotion. It's euphoric. |
Yeah, the tabs for that solo are only a handfull of notes, but if you listen to it, it has the depth and emotion of an entire symphony orchestra.
There's Gilmour for ya'...... |
Shine on you crazy diamond I-II, and having a hard *** time remembering the 3rd solo, though the tone is incredible
Comfortably Numb (my next one) Echoes - intro and outro Money and Time High Hopes and Marooned all timeless |
i love the solo(s) in echoes. that whole song is just amazing
|
I like the Comfortably Numb solos best
|
SOYCD, Any Colour You Like, Careful With That Ax, Eugene.
|
echoes could be the greatest song EVER made, i wouldnt doubt it. Its perfect. I couldnt name one thing to add or take from that song to make it better, but i think its great for also being the only song to represent the entire triligy of Pink Floyds sound. It seems that song overviewed all of floyds previous, current, and future sound and style in certain parts of that song.
and god christ i cant get enough of that tone I got a Boss Cs-3 pedal just to try to match it. Its the same on he used, but updated, and about 100 bucks i think. still - incredible |
and i have to add on the subject of solos, Any Colour you Like is probably the funnest song to play of any song i know about. Phasers, Wawas, effects everywere and just simple, innovative pleasure. What a great song...
|
Yea man the tone is what I love about it. Same with SOYCD. Amazing.

Man I was going for it. Damn.

I had my eye on it for almost 10 minutes.
Actually, according to the counter in the post, it's reply #2001. |

Does anyone know how to emulate the tone from the ABITW Pt. 2 solo?
I can't even come close with all my effects and amps. The best way to describe it would be 'syrup' like. |
Use the bridge pickup, and compressor helps a lot. You get that bassy tone.
