Hahahaha...... I'm the only kid at my school that actually knows what hardcore/emo/screamo is. I used to listenin to Sugar Ray in 5th grade. I also thought I was a bada'ss because I listened to Marlyn Manson. I hate those bands now. I got into punk in 6th grade with the Dead Kennedy's and I've always been into The Ramones since I was little, but i never knew what they were.
wow so many kids in my school are into hardcore. Its crazy how many there are. There are quite a few self proclaimed "emo" kids that dont listen to real emo music as well.

cbmartinez 05-12-2005 05:31 PM

Sugar Ray's 14:59 was one of my first albums. That was some ill screamo.

RetiredAt21 05-12-2005 05:32 PM

I can't believe some of the garbage I used to listen to.

Converge#12 05-12-2005 05:36 PM

Well kids when they're younger tend to like more popular music. If they listen to the rock side usually they will get into better music as they get older.

RetiredAt21 05-12-2005 05:40 PM

But I didn't listen to it because it was popular, I actually liked it. I thought Slipknot was br00tal.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-12-2005 05:51 PM

Well evryone at my school thinks hey know that hardcore is like atreyu or Poison The Well. Oh, thank God I've never been into rap or nu-metal.

luckily for me my local scene is good.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-12-2005 06:01 PM

Well I do go to a middle school. Maybe next year in high school there will be knowledgeable people, but of course they will be accompanied by ignorants.

That's what I thought would happen when I was going into high school. No such luck.
wow so many kids in my school are into hardcore. Its crazy how many there are. There are quite a few self proclaimed "emo" kids that dont listen to real emo music as well.
I think everywhere in the world has at least a few of those nowadays.

RetiredAt21 05-13-2005 07:18 AM

Most of the kids that go to my school claim to listen to emo. But they listen to stuff like Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, Story of the Year, the Used, etc...

AndreTheHyena 05-13-2005 11:34 AM
Sugar Ray's 14:59 was one of my first albums. That was some ill screamo.
Ha, I loved that album. I still do, actually. It's a nice slice of summertime pop-rock.

The first cd I bought was, I think, Let's Face It by the Bosstones, or maybe a Green Day cd. I can't remember. Bush and Nirvana weren't far behind.

BuddyBigsby 05-13-2005 11:39 AM

Sugar Ray's album before that rocked. Before they sold out.

RetiredAt21 05-13-2005 12:05 PM

Sugar Ray used to be a thrash band right?

BuddyBigsby 05-13-2005 12:10 PM

Not thrash but sorta skate punkish.

QuietRobert 05-13-2005 12:35 PM

same here

~All my life~ 05-13-2005 02:31 PM

I went through a KoRn phase! *shudders* I've downloaded some emo music, I notice alot of it sounds like its been recorded with bad equipment, but I suppose that makes it more punk like. None of these bands seem to be known except from via the internet! I'm taking about bands like Stop It!!

BuddyBigsby 05-13-2005 03:40 PM

Wow, he actually hit the nail on the head.

StandingStill 05-13-2005 04:18 PM
Not thrash but sorta skate punkish.
Didnt they rap as well?

Wow 05-13-2005 04:23 PM

I can't find any Stop It!!. It's pissing me off.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-13-2005 05:08 PM

My friend goes around saying he is emo and needs someone to cheer him up. I'd tried explaining to him the real definition. Oh, well some of those fake-emo bands are pretty good. I dig Coheed and Cambria, Senses Fail, and some other bands. Then some kids at my school go "do u cut yourself? Are you a ***** emo kid?" It gets annoying. There is so much macho bullsh'it at my school.

Wow 05-13-2005 05:17 PM

Too much emo bullshit up in this piece. Everyone here cuts themselves and listens to Finch.

PlasticGangster 05-13-2005 05:22 PM
I can't find any Stop It!!. It's pissing me off.
i'll hook you up dood. instant message me, ohnoarobot.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-13-2005 05:23 PM

People here cut themselves and then show it off to everyone. I feel sorry for them that they actually need that much attention. Then kids here also think these "hardcore" kids (really metalcore) and "screamo" kids (really post-hardcore or "pop-core") are tough and angry and violent. I listen to a bunch of that stuff and I'm seriously so easy to throw around.

BuddyBigsby 05-13-2005 05:24 PM
Didnt they rap as well?
Not that I know of. Maybe some fast singing though.

Wow: I have Stop It!!! on soulseek. I'm at work right now but I think I'm signed on. Name's BuddyBigsby. Go into Albums, then Emo. I have their Self Made Maps album in there.

Wow 05-13-2005 05:42 PM

<3 people who offered to hook me up with Stop It!! Currently raping Buddy's collection. /insert oral secks scene here

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-13-2005 05:50 PM

Many people at my school also think being straight edge is stupid and retarded.
