Their Drummer is the best...i keep forgetting his name...
His name is Joey, heh. Not the best however.
You are stupid. What if they just felt like making different kind of music?

Would it be selling out for Britney Spears to start making Black Metal?

Also I would like them to keep the masks just because Joey is really ugly.....
Joey looks the same as his mask, there isn't a difference. :thumb:

Tune your bass to B F# B E and compensate. Mix the tabs. Besides, I saw their bass player with a 4-string bass playing drop B and drop A songs in Disasterpieces...

Not what I meant.Metalcore is the hot thing right now, and for Slipknot to make the switch to it just to stay afloat would be selling out.Unless of coarse they were influenced by the whole metalcore scene artistically, and felt compelled to take their music towards that direction.

Britney Spears making Black Metal obviously wouldnt help her earn any cash, so no it would not be selling out.Artistically, she has fat bald old white men that write her music for her, so its not like she's an artist to begin with.

Joey is such a midget. He's like 5 feet tall. I saw a picture of him standing to the 6'7 James Root and I was amazed at how short he is.

badtaste 07-02-2005 10:53 PM

About Disasterpieces, I always comment on how Corey sounds pretty terrible. It's like the mask is preventing from singing clearly. Or is he just trying to sounds 'aggressive'?

He sounds messy, really messy in the dvd.

BTW< letmypeopleho< you are being sarcastic about Joey being ugly right? If you aren't then: aren't you acting like a pop fan then? Would you prefer a boyband or something? The point of music (metal and the such) is about the music rather than the image behind the music.

Have any of you seen these pics of them with their death masks? Some of the best shots of Craig's face you'll ever get.

Ive seen those pics a bunch of times, I cant make out much.

MegaPhony 07-02-2005 11:22 PM

They should just give up the masks, they'd probably gain more fans. The whole mask gimmick is rather lame.
Maybe they'd be more metalcore than "Halloweencore"

The Nameless is a cool song.I like it...

jake_6(sic)6 07-03-2005 08:46 AM

every 1 saying that mick tomson is a bad guitarist can feck off. ok, the songs arnt hard to play, but they are clever and they sound good. just coz they arnt HARD dsont make the guitarist bad. take head and munky from korn as a perfect example...

Sleeper 07-03-2005 08:54 AM

I found Mick to always be a decent guitarist, His guitar work in Vermillion was great.

Bass-AKIRA 07-03-2005 09:18 AM

Maybe I should actualy listen to more songs but I', very picky about what Slipknot I listen to.

1.Vermillion
2.Before I forget
3.Duality
4.Wait and Bleed
5.Pulse of the Maggots

Again maybe I should listen to more but I would still keep vermillion/before I forget at the top of the list.Defenetely some of their best.

I think that is because he took off the G string and put on a B instead.

Yes, listening to more is a recomendation.

paper2302 07-05-2005 09:43 PM

Paul tunes his bass to drop B, he doesn't replace any strings. He uses a five string on the new album, but not much. In interviews and stuff, he says he likes the feel of a four string a lot better.

scaredofclowns 07-06-2005 03:04 PM

Slipknot is an awesome band. However, I think they should just play music. When they start doing all this crap with interviews and promoting their CD's, they forget why their doing it. They can play music and Spit it Out is a testament to that.

LedZeppFan83 07-06-2005 04:05 PM

Not A Huge Fan.........

- Yea, i used 2 love Slip KnoT when i was in like 5th grade, but i dont like them @ all now. But the song "Duality" i can live with.
Dude, they always did interviews, and promoted their CDs.
Exactly. Why wouldn't a band promote their music?

I wasn't saying it was a bad thing.

Remember when KISS had that idea? Didn't turn out to well, I know Slipknot and KISS are uncompatable but I'm speaking hypotheticly, and I think the masks serve as an icon, its proof that Slipknot has survived and risen while so many nu-metal bands have remainded the same, mushroomhead, Candiria(haven't heard new material for a long time) etc.

IMO Mick is a great guitarist. James is pretty good with his technical stuff to i think.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he is great, but he does lay down some cool riffs and occasionally plays a pretty entertaining solo.

Both Mick and Jim are extremely underrated since everyone takes their skill from the slipknot riffs. But if you listened to them just jam, oh dude. They both can pull off some crazy stuff. Mick's warm-up involves fast arpeggios up and down the neck

thelittledrummerboy 07-07-2005 11:15 PM

how do you know? ( Not being rude or nothing )
