thickasabrick 03-01-2005 11:16 PM

I suggest everyone in this thread take shrooms at least once in their life. I tried them for the first time last weekend and they were amazing...I'm doing them again this weekend. The trip is awesome, so much fun...and when you're coming off the trip you think of the most amazing things. I'm pretty sure anyone that says shroom/acid trips make you more creative is wrong...it's after the trip when you are the most creative.

I taught one of my students Paint it Black tonight, that's a killer song. My student got all excited that I was teaching her a "cool" song. And it's fun to jam to.

Glitterati 03-01-2005 11:33 PM
We all seem to be so negative.

Everyone lets just all take some shrooms and get the baby jesus buttplugs out.

I'm free tonight.

Speaking of shrooms and acid and whatnot, on my list of things to do before I die (currently the only thing on the list) is to see a really overblown, loud, colorful opera while on an acid trip. I think it would be unbelievable.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 03-02-2005 08:15 AM

I've never done acid...I don't want a bad trip.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-02-2005 08:52 AM

This book The Doors of Preception is crazy he (Aldous Huxley) speaks of using this drug called mescalin...Anybody know what mescalin is? Acid?

He says that the colors are crazy.

I have 3 Neil Young albums:
On the Beach
Harvest
Neil Young (s\t)

What should I get next?

Nah, mescalin comes as little crystals that you put on your tongue, you have pretty mild hallucinations in my experience, though fairly trippy. I think it comes from a cactus.

/though I suppose it depends on amounts consumed :naughty:

Well if you want just Neil Young... get After the Gold Rush

Or if you want Neil Young in another band get Deja Vu, by CSNY

I guess it would kinda be like acid. You get it from mexican cactuses, or however you spell it.

Cacti

I don't know many people who have had bad trips...I'm sure they happen but just be in a safe environment.

I'm just starting to get into the Doors, it's really good music.

Crew 03-02-2005 02:01 PM

I have done shrooms before. I never will again, as it turns out it makes your brain hemmorage slightly. Probably not enough to do any permanant damamge if you only do them once in a while, but I couldn't stand to think of my brain bleeding. I have friends who did extasy and acid, they said ex was pretty fun. Unfortunatly, both of those drain your spinal fluid that runs down through your vertebrae and IV discs, and you only have so much of that. best to stick to the yes-i-cannibus

lunch998 03-02-2005 03:42 PM
Were you expecting a load of insults concerning your Grateful Dead knowledge.

And geeze, you have been uneedingly negative and derogatory lately.

You need to ease up once in awhile.

Are light hearted jokes too much for you anymore?
It's ironic because I was joking  . Looks like your the one who needs to ease up.

And when else have I been negative? You better not count that Care Bear argument, I thought we both knew that wasn't serious.

thickasabrick 03-02-2005 03:43 PM

Schyma, do you have Everybody Knows This is Nowhere? That's a great album.

I'm gonna listen to some Classical music on my next shrooms trip. That's probably why The Beatles introduced an orchestra on Sgt Peppers, it sounds crazy on acid from what I've heard.

And the Doors are great Jam2Me, I would suggest you listening to When The Music's Over if you haven't already. It's a pretty cool song. I love the Doors.

Distant Echoes 03-02-2005 03:50 PM

When the musics over is one of my fav doors songs, next to the end, break on through, and light my fire.

The entire first album is a relic to rock itself. I couldnt help but notice that the keyboard intro to When the Musics Over sound much like Soul Kitchen, beside the tone.

All good stuff though

lunch998 03-02-2005 03:52 PM

I actually went through with ordering the mandolin, so I'm really looking forward to that.

It's an amazing song. But my first love with the doors was break on through.

Yea a really cheap one and it comes with instructional books and such. I decided I need something to do when it's too late to practice drumming.

Sure, because you definitley made your intent clear  . That's funny because I recall a certain poster (;)) complaining about sarcasm, because it was not clear enough for him.

Do I have to name examples? Are you tha unsure of yourself?

thickasabrick 03-02-2005 04:12 PM

Don't argue you guys...it makes it awkward for everyone else, especially since you're both regulars.

When does the mandolin come?
Yea a really cheap one and it comes with instructional books and such. I decided I need something to do when it's too late to practice drumming.
Ya, I'm taking up piano, somewhat. I've decided to stop playing snare at school because (as arrogant as this may sound) the material is too easy, It doesn't do me any good and I'm way ahead of the class in terms of playing ability. So instead I'm going to start doing only bells and timp in class. Plus I already pracice set and snare alot at home so.

lunch998 03-02-2005 04:15 PM

You're yelling at me to ease up, and I did/was at the time anyway. Maybe you should, since you're trying to start an argument here.

Sorry, I thought you would get that it was a joke, because I clearly expected it, then you said it anyway. I should have used the smilie.(This was a serious apology, I wasn't being sarcastic.)

RockAndRoll 03-02-2005 04:15 PM

has anyone ever heard a nice peaceful non-arguing song like Imagine or something?
Don't argue you guys...it makes it awkward for everyone else, especially since you're both regulars.

2-5 business days, so like 4 weeks.

Distant Echoes 03-02-2005 04:17 PM

Lunch...can you link some info about the mandolin you ordered, maybe if its on Musiciansfriend or whichever site you got it from. now Im really curious to see what you got....

lunch998 03-02-2005 04:19 PM

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/search/detail/base_pid/519193/

I got this and a 30$ pack with strings, tuner, book, and Dvd. Yea it's really cheap, but I wasn't going to buy a nice one if it should turn out to be something I wasn't going to be serious about.

DeusExMachina 03-02-2005 04:24 PM

That is really cool. I should take up another instrument. Maybe saxophone.

Distant Echoes 03-02-2005 04:26 PM

Im buyin a cheap keyboard soon, around $100 so i can understand the musical concept better, and get a keyboard out of it. I really cant wait...i want to get good at it at my own pace, since i seem to be a natural.

That will be cool.

RockAndRoll 03-02-2005 04:29 PM

I actually love understanding theory. I like understanding all the key signatures and tonic and dominant notes and rhythmic values and chord prorgressions and modes work. It's odd, I suppose but I love it.

Broken Arrow 03-02-2005 04:30 PM

About the places where people live-Canada>All

About Tye Dyes-I only have a Grateful Dead one and it is so cool. I dont care what anyone thinks of me when I ware it because I also have this blond afro and everyone already thinks I'm on drugs.........which I am.

The Doors rule etc. etc.

jpj 03-02-2005 04:31 PM

On the topic of other instruments I really want an upright so bad, maybe I should save up for one of those instead of 6er.

It'd be cool to play keyboards too.

Broken Arrow 03-02-2005 04:33 PM

6ers piss me off.

I want to learn sitar real bad.

I know, it's like when bass players realized that they weren't as cool as guitarists so they tried to copy them.

It'd would most likely be very difficult for you to find lessons, the sheet music is different, more difficult and very hard to come by. And lesson are needed.

I have a friend who plays sitar.

RockAndRoll 03-02-2005 04:38 PM

The guy from Robert Randolph and the Family Band uses a 6er. My bassist uses a 5er.
