I'm just saying that most of the metal shows I've been to (local bands that is) people are there to really hurt someone, not to have a good time. (I'm not bi**hing or anything but just making an observation)

DOA - Motorbreath
DOA - Motorbreath
hxxp://s29.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2OMLS0QSQSSEC1ENEQJDKQEEDO This one's not so good IMO
I agree. The sound quality is just crap. Not your fault but the recording engineers. The cover itself is O.K. but I prefer the original. |
i have never been to a punk gig or concert, how come they have mosh pits?punk music is a bit soft.(no bad intention there)
Also: Does anyone have the complete live version of the Four Horsemen?, all the live version i've heard, don't have the melodic interlude and the solo in it.
The main difference besides not killing each other is at punk shows they like do this dance in a circle while running into each other, whereas in metal you just slam into the first person you see. |

Sloppy Seconds - Hit The Lights hxxp://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3L98KA4NGOJ0R3AQ0P99893MQA
LOL. The singer's voice sounds like he's choking on a d**k. What a crappy voice. The guitar's pretty good though. They stay true to the original but it still needs to have that sweet guitar solo. |
Hey Flower Dance, do you have the whole punk tribute album?
Nah those are the only ones i got. I wanna buy it because these covers are pretty good. |

Sloppy Seconds - Hit The Lights hxxp://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3L98KA4NGOJ0R3AQ0P99893MQA
Why don't they play the riff right? |
Why don't they play the riff right?
Coz covers are boring when they are note for note perfect. I thought it was a pretty good cover really. |
Yeah it was better than a lot of Metallica covers but I still prefer the original riff.
|
Yeah it was better than a lot of Metallica covers but I still prefer the original riff.
Yeah the original riff is better, but it had to fit in with punk feel, and the new riff just worked better with the cover |
Yea when I saw Tallica I was with my gal so I sat and made out with her
for all of godsmack. then I went out and moshed the first song (Blackened) I got the **** beat out of me! never been in a punk mosh though |
Again I'm not a big fan of punk, but that's pretty much 85% of the local bands out here. I like going to shows just so I have something to do. I think there's maybe one or two true metal bands out here. (In Lancaster,Ca)
I wonder why? |
Dang that sux...bit at least Greenday isn't invading your city
|
Dang that sux...bit at least Greenday isn't invading your city
Yeah, then I'd have to move.   |
yeah, i love RTL...BUT!!! you know call of ktulu and ride the lightning solos? did kirk or dave write these, because on the album it says something like: Hetfield/Ulrich/Burton/Mustaine
I really should know this, but both those solos are cool
I'm pretty sure the Ride The Lightning solo belongs to Mr. Kirk Hammett. |
I don't think they used any of Mustaine's solos.
|
I don't think they used any of Mustaine's solos.
I'm pretty sure they used at least one in The Four Horsemen. Not sure which though. I just heard. |
But I think he plays a different solo in Mechanix. If they kept his it would sound the same.
|
Why would it be impossible for Mustaine to write a new one for Mechanix?
|
It wouldn't, but I am still pretty sure all the solos are Kirk's.
|
I know for a fact that on my RTL guitar book the credits for RTL and Call of the Ktulu are Hetfield/Ulrich/Mustaine
|
I know for a fact that on my RTL guitar book the credits for RTL and Call of the Ktulu are Hetfield/Ulrich/Mustaine
That doesn't mean he had to play on it though. He contributed to the writing of those songs. |
I know, I'm just saying that he wrote the solos and chances are that metallica used them.
|
Oh, yeah. I should have noticed that. My bad.
|
Hey it's cool. Does anyone know of any other solo's that dave wrote for metallica?
|
****...how much better would Kill Em All be with good production
|
I like it's raw production.
|
I like it's raw production.
Yeah but sometimes the vocals get kinda annoying to me...I guess it`s cause I`m used to Master Of Puppets...maybe |
Kill Em All gets a little repetitive, still good though.
Whiplash is my fav song off KEA. |
Yeah but sometimes the vocals get kinda annoying to me...I guess it`s cause I`m used to Master Of Puppets...maybe
You can't blame the production for James' pre-pubescent whails. Heh. |
