I'm just saying that most of the metal shows I've been to (local bands that is) people are there to really hurt someone, not to have a good time. (I'm not bi**hing or anything but just making an observation)

DOA - Motorbreath

This one's not so good IMO

I agree. The sound quality is just crap. Not your fault but the recording engineers. The cover itself is O.K. but I prefer the original.

lightningmetal666 08-18-2005 02:19 PM
i have never been to a punk gig or concert, how come they have mosh pits?punk music is a bit soft.(no bad intention there)

Also:
Does anyone have the complete live version of the Four Horsemen?, all the live version i've heard, don't have the melodic interlude and the solo in it.
The main difference besides not killing each other is at punk shows they like do this dance in a circle while running into each other, whereas in metal you just slam into the first person you see.

LOL. The singer's voice sounds like he's choking on a d**k. What a crappy voice. The guitar's pretty good though. They stay true to the original but it still needs to have that sweet guitar solo.

I cannot sent files over AIM due to my firewall it always blocks them but I can send some over YSI if you wish?

If you would like any of the following anyone request them in the YSI upload thread and I will send them as soon as possible...

Metallica - Mouldy (Demo version of Hero of the day excluding vocals)
Metallica - Fuel for fire (work still in progress vocals are different)

From the punk tribute album:

Hit the lights
Seek and destroy
Motorbreath
Sad but true
Jump in the fire
Master of puppets
Enter sandman
One
Nothing else Matters
I disappear
Am I evil?
For whom the bell tolls
Untill it sleeps

If you want any punk songs just post saying Metallica punk: and the songs of your choice bearing in mind whole albums cannot be uploaded.

And others just write Metallica - (Thenameofthesong)

RideTheLightning03 08-18-2005 04:09 PM

Metallica punk : One, Nothing Else Matters
thx

Why don't they play the riff right?

Father_Jack 08-18-2005 04:21 PM
Why don't they play the riff right?
Coz covers are boring when they are note for note perfect. I thought it was a pretty good cover really.

RustedPieces 08-18-2005 04:23 PM

Yeah it was better than a lot of Metallica covers but I still prefer the original riff.

Father_Jack 08-18-2005 04:26 PM
Yeah it was better than a lot of Metallica covers but I still prefer the original riff.
Yeah the original riff is better, but it had to fit in with punk feel, and the new riff just worked better with the cover

Britton 08-18-2005 04:28 PM

Yea when I saw Tallica I was with my gal so I sat and made out with her
for all of godsmack. then I went out and moshed the first song (Blackened)
I got the **** beat out of me!

never been in a punk mosh though

lightningmetal666 08-18-2005 05:43 PM

Again I'm not a big fan of punk, but that's pretty much 85% of the local bands out here. I like going to shows just so I have something to do. I think there's maybe one or two true metal bands out here. (In Lancaster,Ca)
I wonder why?

Britton 08-18-2005 11:11 PM

Dang that sux...bit at least Greenday isn't invading your city

lightningmetal666 08-18-2005 11:46 PM
Dang that sux...bit at least Greenday isn't invading your city
Yeah, then I'd have to move.

Chu 08-18-2005 11:54 PM
yeah, i love RTL...BUT!!! you know call of ktulu and ride the lightning solos? did kirk or dave write these, because on the album it says something like: Hetfield/Ulrich/Burton/Mustaine

I really should know this, but both those solos are cool
I'm pretty sure the Ride The Lightning solo belongs to Mr. Kirk Hammett.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-18-2005 11:56 PM

I don't think they used any of Mustaine's solos.

Huber 08-18-2005 11:58 PM
I don't think they used any of Mustaine's solos.
I'm pretty sure they used at least one in The Four Horsemen. Not sure which though. I just heard.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-19-2005 12:09 AM

But I think he plays a different solo in Mechanix. If they kept his it would sound the same.

Huber 08-19-2005 12:11 AM

Why would it be impossible for Mustaine to write a new one for Mechanix?

Apocalyptic Raids 08-19-2005 12:15 AM

It wouldn't, but I am still pretty sure all the solos are Kirk's.

lightningmetal666 08-19-2005 12:37 AM

I know for a fact that on my RTL guitar book the credits for RTL and Call of the Ktulu are Hetfield/Ulrich/Mustaine

Huber 08-19-2005 12:38 AM
I know for a fact that on my RTL guitar book the credits for RTL and Call of the Ktulu are Hetfield/Ulrich/Mustaine
That doesn't mean he had to play on it though. He contributed to the writing of those songs.

lightningmetal666 08-19-2005 12:43 AM

I know, I'm just saying that he wrote the solos and chances are that metallica used them.

Huber 08-19-2005 12:46 AM

Oh, yeah. I should have noticed that. My bad.

lightningmetal666 08-19-2005 12:50 AM

Hey it's cool. Does anyone know of any other solo's that dave wrote for metallica?

The Persian 08-19-2005 12:53 AM

****...how much better would Kill Em All be with good production

Huber 08-19-2005 12:54 AM

I like it's raw production.

The Persian 08-19-2005 12:57 AM
I like it's raw production.
Yeah but sometimes the vocals get kinda annoying to me...I guess it`s cause I`m used to Master Of Puppets...maybe

JonG 08-19-2005 12:59 AM

Kill Em All gets a little repetitive, still good though.

Whiplash is my fav song off KEA.

Huber 08-19-2005 01:02 AM
Yeah but sometimes the vocals get kinda annoying to me...I guess it`s cause I`m used to Master Of Puppets...maybe
You can't blame the production for James' pre-pubescent whails. Heh.
