You should have stolen Lauren as well.

Oh no fear, she's locked in my bedroom. ;)

pate 08-29-2006 10:29 AM

So you can make her play the bass all day, and make Steve strip.

....er....

I absaloutely love "The Legacy".
Some strange yellow gas,

That's possible my favorite lyrical part of the intire song. I'm not sure why, but I love it.

Spoken like a true Maidenite.

This album is the best thing I've heard in years.

JamJar 08-29-2006 12:57 PM

The album is quite possibly my favourite Maiden album now. That's probably because it's the only thing I've listened to for the last two days though. But still, it is damn awsome.

Haha same. And I totally agree.

I love it so much. Maiden's best methinks?

lionelhutz88 08-29-2006 01:14 PM

It's really good, but doesn't top Powerslave as the very best. They'll never tpop that, but I dont care.

Powerslave was good, but never my favorite.

PAJJ 08-29-2006 01:27 PM

i never though PS was their best, this ones just awesome though, so so good. I'd give it a week to see if my mind changes, but so far best maiden album ever.

NP TROBB, this is just getting better with every listen, and it seemed so much better in context of the album as well.

JamJar 08-29-2006 01:27 PM

Powerslave was my favourite for a very long time time but was recently topped by SSOASS.
NP TROBB, this is just getting better with every listen, and it seemed so much better in context of the album as well.
A definite 123 there.

Lord Abortion 08-29-2006 01:31 PM

NP-The longest day

Your number's up,
the bullet's got your name,
but you still go on,
to hell and back again.

JamJar 08-29-2006 01:32 PM

The Longest Day is probably my least favourite on the new album. It's a bit too repetitve. But even though I say that, it is still amazingly awsome.

It's probably my favourite along with the Legacy, these colours don't run and LoL

JamJar 08-29-2006 01:41 PM

My favourites have to be The Legacy, Brighter Than A Thousand Suns and For The Greater Good Of God.

PAJJ 08-29-2006 01:45 PM

**** i tried naming a favourite but i just ended up naming all the songs, argh :upset:

NP Lord of Light

Shattered_Future 08-29-2006 02:03 PM

I hate my copy of the album though, it's in alphabetical order. Grumble...

First impressions left a little something to be desired, but I'm sure they'll go away with more listens. It is quite good though, and very refreshing. Harris can STILL manage to crank out some awesome songs in E minor, even after writing 13 albums full of them.

crag 08-29-2006 02:06 PM

I now officially have AMOLAD in my possession :)

It took me ages to find it though, almost every place i went to said it wasn't released until next week

Lord Abortion 08-29-2006 02:17 PM

Where the hell did you go?!
It was all over the shops I went to today.

crag 08-29-2006 02:21 PM
Where the hell did you go?!

I was in all the music shops in town, i eventually found it in HMV.

LegionsofMarduk 08-29-2006 02:52 PM

wow...been a long time since I posted in this thread.

I've yet to get A Matter of Life and Death. I've heard it's really good though. Looking forward to actually getting it. I did hear the song they posted on their website a while back and I like that.

And after 15 years of trying...I finally get to see them live!!! 17-Oct at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Anyone else going to that show?

Lord Abortion 08-29-2006 03:03 PM

That's good to hear. It's a very, very good album.
Certianly one of Maiden's best, which is huge praise from me:)

and obviously beats Kill and 10,000 days into 2nd and 3rd places in the album of the year slots easily.

Don't jump to conclusions, silly Ollie.

There are still 3 months to come still. ;)

JamJar 08-29-2006 03:08 PM

So far this is definitely my album of the year but I'm hoping that Pain Of Salvation's Scarsick will come out this year and be absolutely amazing.

Yeah, but unless Thornography is the best thing Cradle of Filth have ever written, then nothing is coming out that'll beat AMOLAD

That happened to me too, except even HMV said it was delayed.

Exactly. The best album of the year already came out.

SYNCHESTRA!!!!

JamJar 08-29-2006 05:45 PM

Synchestra is good, but I find it quite difficult to listen to. AMOLAD definitely takes the top spot for now, but I also hope that Amputechture will give it a run for it's money.
