i think 2x4 is one of the best metallica songs ever, though load isnt such a great album
It's ok if you like the newer, post-black album, metallica. But i still think even though a good song, it doesn't beat stuff like Creeping Death, Battery etc.

Oh and welcome to the forums

metalhead_matt 08-18-2005 04:59 AM

i think load is actually a pretty good album, but it aint as good as there earlier stuff. all the lead fills between choruses and verses on Kill 'Em All are cool. i hope there new album is like KEA although i dont think james would be able to sing like he used to now...

I guarantee it won't be anything like KEA and anyway, a second RTL would be better :p. Me thinks it is going to be like St. Anger only with solos and good drum quality which would be great.

yeah, i love RTL...BUT!!! you know call of ktulu and ride the lightning solos? did kirk or dave write these, because on the album it says something like: Hetfield/Ulrich/Burton/Mustaine

I really should know this, but both those solos are cool

I am not entirely sure but I think that both songs were written when Mustaine was in the band. Don't quote me on that because I am not sure but I think that is the case and yes, those solos are great.

metalhead_matt 08-18-2005 05:19 AM

mustaine got fired  sorry, but its the way they did it
dave wake up, your fired
That definetly goes without saying for most of us in this thread but not for me actually, i think they are equal. Its really just metallica doing alternative rock which i think they did a kik a*s job at doing. I personally prefer some of the songs on load an realod mor than some songs on RTL. I luv hero of the day and its my gf's favorite metallica song (so i dont mind playin it), i luv the solo in bleeding me, the wah is sick in it and the unforgiven too is a metallibest song. Carpe Diem Baby also has some sweet unorthodox chords in it that sound cool. So im just sayin that i honestly dont think load and reload albums are worse than MOP or RTL i jus think that all metallica albums are great because onece i start listening to a different one I all of a sudden have a new favorite metallica song (like rgiht now its Hero of the Day). Anyway I feels as though metallica is the best anything they try

in the end MOP is definetly my fave album of all the
Actually, I completely agree with you on most of those songs. and MOP is also my favorite album. I went through a phase where all I would listen to was Bleeding Me. And also I don't enjoy RTL as much as either MOP or AJFO.

I agree with you on the 2x4, its an awsum somg but i still think load was great.

Echleon 08-18-2005 09:34 AM

I quite like Load, i think it's a great album.

I don't really like Reload that much though.

Thank You I really don't see what the huge thing about RTL is. I like it a lot don't get me wrong but I don't feel as though its one of their best. Even James said that on that 20 minute metallimovie on the San Diego DVD that MOP was when they truly came out, KEA was just hevy kik *** rock, RTL was the transition into mor complex meteal and MOP was the successful result. I think Load and Realod are much more impressive. Check out Cure on Load, the lyrics are really erie how he mumbles and sings the words in different vocals. I also like King Nothing because thats a great bluesy rock tune along with the heart punding Fuel on reload

RideTheLightning03 08-18-2005 10:05 AM

i think that rtl is the best album, but load & reload are still a lot better than most people think they are. The memory remains is another good song from reload, but what the hell is that daa daa daa part in the middle and the end for?

Schecterguitarist 08-18-2005 10:10 AM

Dudes check this out its really funny http://www.allmetallica.com/info/misheard.php
Its what some people thought was the lyrics from metallicas songs
ie: The Unforgiven
Misheard lyric:Through constipated grace
Actual lyric:Through constant pain and disgrace

RideTheLightning03 08-18-2005 10:17 AM

Song: Fade To Black
Misheard Lyric: No one but me, can take my cell phone it's too late
Real Lyric: No one but met, can save myself but it's too late

what kind of fuckin retards did they get this from. cell phone? jesus christ

Rats 08-18-2005 10:22 AM
I think nothing else matters aint easy.
but im allmost getting there
i had to try a lot though.
but i only gotta know the end now.

he doesnt even try cause he thinks its too hard.

Nah, stuff like blitzkrieg and devil's dance are better. IMO.

Seriously, what kind of messed-up alarm clock is that.

exup 08-18-2005 11:32 AM

BUT, no one checks it so you can drink from about your 13'd or something

Schecterguitarist 08-18-2005 11:59 AM

You know guys are talkin how old you have to be to LEGALLY drink. I don't really giv a **** because in the US you have to be 21 but I'm 17 and I drink with friends and at parties all the time. I'm pretty sure most of us here do that anyway though because most of us are just teens wanting to hav a good time

Jev 08-18-2005 12:00 PM

I have been drinking since i was 13 anyway.

Schecterguitarist 08-18-2005 12:02 PM
I have been drinking since i was 13 anyway.
Haha yah exactly my point.......wow 13 thats rly young dude i started drinking when I was a freshman at high school parties (14/15). 13 is like 7th grade

Jev 08-18-2005 12:04 PM

It wasn't every night drinking or anything as serious as that, i just did when i wanted to.

Schecterguitarist 08-18-2005 12:06 PM

Does any1 know how kirk gets that sick sound out of his guitar wen they play the outro to For Whom The Bell Tolls? I think its just a bunch of wah and whammy bar but idk.

Jev 08-18-2005 12:07 PM

It is wah and whammy.

lightningmetal666 08-18-2005 12:10 PM

Is he just hitting a bunch of random harmonics while using the w and w.

That was my original point. I don't give a s**t what the law is on drinking. I know I'm a responsible drinker. I don't even drink that much. Both my parents know this, that's why they allow it. I'm just not allowed to get drunk and drive a car or go to a party and get so smashed at a party, that I end up waking up to some ugly b**ch that didn't look so bad the night before.

The question is though, WHY WOULD I WANT TO?

Jev 08-18-2005 12:22 PM
Is he just hitting a bunch of random harmonics while using the w and w.
Probably a mix of harmonics and normal notes.

Britton 08-18-2005 12:37 PM

Yea school started today so last night I through on Tallica's rtl and
a couple friends and I had a bottle of wine. it's not that big of a deal
unless you go out get drunk and kill some one. I don't see why theres
a law on age, it should be that if you kill some one while your drunk you go to jail for life
that would stop a bunch of this, or we could cut off body parts!

Britton 08-18-2005 12:38 PM

Or we could Just Kill e'm all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!make them ride the lighting for there
lack of sense

Dude, are you serious? I saw agent orange a few months back and they f**cking rocked. I thought that they were only surf punk though. I didn't know they did metallica covers. I'm not a huge fan of A.O. but they put on a decent show. I've got to hear this cover.

Jev 08-18-2005 01:37 PM

It's very different.

lightningmetal666 08-18-2005 01:40 PM
It's very different.
Yeah it is but I dare say it rivals the original. When I saw A.O. they also did the most kick @$$ version of secret agent man. Definitely caused a massive mosh. This version of seek and destroy rules. :thumb:

lightningmetal666 08-18-2005 01:48 PM

Hey has anyone noticed the difference between punk mosh pits and the pits that metal bands like metallica have?

Not advertising punk or anything, but every punk show that I've been to people will help you up if you fall, but at metal shows people don't give a s**t. It seems that if you fall, they're likely to stomp on your head as they make their way to their next victim. IMO.

I have also noticed this and I much prefer being helped up than murdered :).

heavy metal kid 08-18-2005 01:53 PM

i have never been to a punk gig or concert, how come they have mosh pits?punk music is a bit soft.(no bad intention there)

Also:
Does anyone have the complete live version of the Four Horsemen?, all the live version i've heard, don't have the melodic interlude and the solo in it.

I haven't, every pit I've been in, when I've fallen, there was one or two cool guys that helped me up.

Jev 08-18-2005 01:55 PM

In Punk pits people pick me up but in Metal pits fat guys pick on me. :(

There's a venue where I live, and the secuirty guards are 90% 500 pound giant Simoans and sometimes they go into the pits "to calm people down" but when you see metalheads flying around, you know they're just in there to knock people around.
