what the hell is a polo |
Well, to be honest. I am going to move from Chicago eventually and either try to get to Colorado, Northern California, Southern Illinois, or Southern Florida.
Which probably won't happen :( /badmoon dreams
I'd like North Cal. Away from MYR. |
what the hell is a polo
He means white people. Joking. |
MY TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO THE CLASSIC ROCK THREAD COMMENCES!
Badmoon, go to Northern California. I lived there for about 10 years, amazing place. |
what the hell is a polo
A term we use for rich North Siders.
I'd like North Cal.
My gf is a NorCal girl, so NorCal is okay by me. |
Gee thanks :)
Aside from our insult game... What's everyone's favorite Beatle's record? I'd have to say mines Abbey Road or the White Album.
Well my favorite Beatles album... Impossible. Somewhere in between Rubber Soul and Abbey Road, depending on the day of the week |
My gf is a NorCal girl, so NorCal is okay by me.
I posted that, unless you were just editing Badmoon's post. |
I was sure that Badmoon said it. My point stands, though.
|
I'd like North Cal. Away from MYR.
Nobody wants to come to so cal eh? I see... :( |
Well, to be honest. I am going to move from Chicago eventually and either try to get to Colorado, Northern California, Southern Illinois, or Southern Florida.
Which probably won't happen :( /badmoon dreams
I'm happy where I'm living now because not a lot of people around here like a lot of that mainstream pop-punk and rap, instead most people around are either Punks, metal heads, or hippies. |
I was sure that Badmoon said it. My point stands, though.
Yea he posted NorCal among various other places. In my responding post I said exactly "I'd like North Cal". But it's irrelevant by now anyway. |
A term we use for rich North Siders.
I'm not rich, and most people who i live around are also as poor as i am. "Way to generalize" me DN |
There's a jam band at my school. They're awesome. A lot of people here listen to Metallica and Pantera and whatnot though, so I pretty much avoid talking music with them.
|
I'm not rich, and most people who i live around are also as poor as i am.
Not as poor as where I grew up, I can guarantee that. |
Nobody wants to come to so cal eh?
I see... :(
The Florida Keys out do you. I will hopefully get a job running a SCUBA diving program for a resort on one of the islands. Or drag dead fleeing Cubans from the debths of the Gulf of Mexico.
Not as poor as where I grew up, I can guarantee that.
My family had it pretty bad. I guess it's a Southern Chicago thing :( |
I don't really talk music with anyone at my school. No, I don't try to act like I have superior tastes than them, I passed that stage. So now I just don't say anything and feel superior to myself.

My family had it pretty bad. I guess it's a Southern Chicago thing :(
Well, the worst part of Chicago is in the South Side.
I don't really talk music with anyone at my school. No, I don't try to act like I have superior tastes than them, I passed that stage.
Not as poor as where I grew up, I can guarantee that.
I'm sorry i don't live in the Getto, DN, but way to go braging about how you are poor, keep that up and you can make a living on it. |
Well, the worst part of Chicago is in the South Side.
In college you meet a lot of music snobs, but also a lot of people worth talking to music about.
I was just joking about feeling superior to myself. I don't consider my tastes more superior that anyone's. |

At least its not all about "omgz li3k teh hillary duff!1@!" Sometimes it is hard not to be a music elitist |

Totally off topic, but I just ordered a new t-shirt. http://liquidblue.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/tshirts.detail/cat/rock/subcat/the_doors/CODE/11872/lizard-king-v.html Pretty awesome, in my opinion. I was going to order the Pink Floyd WYWH 25th Anniversary shirt, but it was sold out.

Sometimes it is hard not to be a music elitist
I know some girls like that, who are actually pretty cool except they listen to her and such. I don't mind though, I just kinda laugh and be thankful that I listen to the Allman Brothers instead. |

I don't "brag" about it. I just like the idea that I came from the bottom and that I'm on my way to the top. I had it really bad, and I use that as fuel to keep me going. |
http://liquidblue.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/tshirts.detail/cat/rock/subcat/allman_brothers/CODE/11811/allman-bros..html
I like that shirt. |
What exactly is the appeal of tie-dye shirts?
|
http://liquidblue.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/tshirts.detail/cat/rock/subcat/allman_brothers/CODE/11811/allman-bros..html
I like that shirt.
yeah i saw that shirt before too, when i get enough money i want to buy an Allmans brother shirt and a Doors shirt. |
What exactly is the appeal of tie-dye shirts?
Why do you like clothes you wear? |
Why do you like clothes you wear?
Because they aren't tie-dye. Seriously, tie-dye shirts just give off the whole "Look at me, I'm so cool because I use drugs!" vibe, even if it isn't true. |
What exactly is the appeal of tie-dye shirts?
what the appeal of fake faded jeans? |
what the appeal of fake faded jeans?
I don't see where that came from, because I hate pre-faded jeans as well. |
What exactly is the appeal of tie-dye shirts?
Some tie dyed shirts have really cool images on them. |
Because they aren't tie-dye.
Seriously, tie-dye shirts just give off the whole "Look at me, I'm so cool because I use drugs!" vibe, even if it isn't true.
And baggy sweatshorts and huge white tees give off the "Look at me because I'm gangsta" vibe. I'm not saying you wear those clothes. I actually just liked the design on the Allman Brothers t-shirt I pointed out. |
Some tie dyed shirts have really cool images on them.
That are almost always available on shirts that are far less tacky than tie-dyed ones. |
Because they aren't tie-dye.
Seriously, tie-dye shirts just give off the whole "Look at me, I'm so cool because I use drugs!" vibe, even if it isn't true.
Well there are some pretty good tie die band shirts and if your a Grateful Dead fan you would be looking forever for a non tie die Dead shirt. |
why wear any clothes at all, it will just add to your image.
Why even wear a bands name on your shirt then, maybe by whatever the bands is people still might think you use drugs. Why even tell people you like a certain kind of music, god forbid they might think something of you. |

I saw an ad for the DVD release of the Rutles "Can't Buy Me Lunch" today while I was reading the Onion.
|
Did any of you see American Idol last night?
The guy did a (terrible) rendition of "Whipping Post." I thought it was cool he chose that song, no one can come close to Gregg's voice though. Simon and all them fools were like in awe of his performance...I know it was the song selection though. I also heard "Sweet Melissa" playing in a commercial a couple times today. "Sweet Home Alabama" is in a KFC commercial. "The Weight" is on some insurance or something commercial. |
