Let me back up my opinion: pretty much every tech death band I've heard in my life can't write a song to save their lives. They're not even technically proficient guitarists, they just play kind of wanky riffs really fast, WHOA.

Death metal isn't about technicality it's about sounding like a horde of zombies ripping off one's face. Bands like Knights Of The Abyss, Graves Of Valor, and Thrown To Belial definitely fit that bill quite nicely, unlike garbage like say... The Faceless or Necrophaggot.
