Well what do you expect?
Last tour was really disappointing for them
It's not just that, bruce is saying how they wont sell in America. That really shows that their not just doing it for their fans, they obviously care a bit more about how many tickets they will sell and how much money their getting.
Plus if were talking about them by being egged at ozzest, the whole american crowd stood up for them, it wasnt the USA's fault. It was a ENGLISH ladys fault.

Im just a bit pissed that it seems that they really care more about ticket sales then their loyal American fans who spend way too much for their cds =/

Oh thanks happy for the NML upload
It was a ENGLISH ladys fault.
She's American, Ozzy's English.
Other than that though, I fully agree with what you were saying.

Surtr 08-26-2006 11:25 AM

Here in Atlantic Canada, I know that if Maiden did a concert in Halifax, Nova Scotia, they could sell out no problem. From what I've seen America isn't that great for Maiden, and they are right, Iowa Arena's won't get packed for Maiden..(Or anyone) but there are some places that will.

Mikesn 08-26-2006 12:32 PM

Oh damn, I totally forgot about that Nicko version of Age of Innocence. I've always wanted to hear that, could someone please send it.

Thanks. :chug:

Are you kidding?

Arpanet 08-26-2006 06:47 PM

Anyone else think these songs are gonna kill live? The Longest Day... Greater Good of God... Benjamin Breeg... The Legacy... *drool*

And Bruce isn't ****ting on American fans. He's ****ting on the American fans who haven't bought an album since 1988, have stopped going to shows, and just want to hear Run to the Hills and Number of the Beast so they can pretend to be 18 again. Those people aren't real fans, and Bruce is totally right. I've seen Maiden 3 times, and every time Bruce's attitude seems to be "you guys are great for coming out, and **** the people who've abandoned us." Makes sense to me.

JamJar, The Legacy is a great track, don't sweat it :)

Can I also get a link to that EP? jlenehan08 at amherst.edu. Thanks a bunch :)

TojesDolan 08-26-2006 07:04 PM

I think it's good that a band changes slighty, especially those that have run for some that's almost 30 years.

Nonetheless, and despite the little changes through time, Maiden is one of the bands that hasn't really whored itself, in terms of "changing for the mainstream sakes".

Say, like Kiss with that Disco song.

DeafForever 08-26-2006 07:27 PM
Okay, sent to all of you :)
Thanks alot man. That version of 'Paschendale' completley owns.

So I think 'These Colours Don't Run' might be the best track off 'A Matter of Life and Death'...

Thats what im talking about. If maiden truely cared about their fans they way they say they do, they wouldnt care if they could sell out iowas arena. They would care about the fans who came to see them. This shows how much they care about their money. Which really makes me sad, becasue i have defended maiden way too many times saying how they really do care about their fans.

i have bought their entire discography and eddies archives. I payed way too much ($75 fuckin dollers) to see them play a 50 minute set at ozzfest. I think that should qualifie me as a "true" fan. We've abandoned them? They have fuckin abandoned us.

PepsiMetal 08-26-2006 11:16 PM

So I just watched "Iron Maiden makes an album" on MTV2. I was surprised to see them, it was like a mini documentary about the new album.

No, she's British.

Wow, you wanna compare e-penises? I flew to New York from Chicago ($400 round-trip) to see them in 2003. I paid double for tickets on eBay so I'd get good seats at Ozzfest last year. I'll be taking a $30 bus to see them this fall. And you know what? It was worth every penny. Stop whining.

Do you think that if Dance of Death had sold more than 300,000 copies they wouldn't be touring more? There's a very small market for Iron Maiden in America these days. Sad but true. Don't blame the band, blame the people who stopped listening to their music.

Txus 08-27-2006 10:06 AM

The new album is too damn good.

/Feels ashamed for downloading it.

Deth 08-27-2006 10:09 AM

As you should. I'm still going to have to wait a while because of the stupid mail system.

New Agalloch is amazing as well btw. Bought it yesterday.

JamJar 08-27-2006 10:09 AM

I can't wait til tomorrow. So much good talk about the album :D

I agree with this one.
These are the type of Maiden fans that can go piss up a rope, as far as I'm concerned. Maiden did a huge US tour for the Early days, to try to make an effort for new audiences, and look where it got them. 90% of US "metal" fans don't give a crap about Maiden, they just want to hear ****ing faggy Lamb of God and some gay metalcore act they can hit their wives and drink pissy beer to.

Lord Abortion 08-27-2006 04:35 PM

/Downloads AMOLAD.

I'm weak I know, but I ordered it along with the new DT live album, and Amazon says it won't be here until the 5th, so I'm evening out the score.

Mikesn 08-27-2006 05:14 PM

I caved in as well, but it was more to get a better idea of what I was going to write for me review. I'm glad I did too, this thing is a beast.

I'm still going to buy it Tuesday of course.

Lord Abortion 08-27-2006 05:16 PM

****ing **** shaped ****ing cunts.

This is so ****ing good. I'm speechless.

JamJar 08-27-2006 05:19 PM

/loves all this amazing talk on the album.

To stop myself from caving in, I've been binging on the three available tracks. I can't wait for tomorrow.

Lord Abortion 08-27-2006 05:52 PM

1.45. Lord Of light. My jaw is on the floor

Surtr 08-27-2006 08:09 PM

Well..I've got it downloaded, I've got it set, I've got it ready, and I'm waiting.

In 2 hours it'll be the 28th, and I'll be able to listen to this without feeling I've done wrong. I'm going to hold out. I've got too lol. I can't bloody wait, and I'm sure I'll crack before it's tomorrow, but I've gotta' try.

Funny, this is the first real album that I've ever waited for. I've always been like, oh sweet the new Insert Random Band I Like Album is out today, I'll go buy it.

For this it's like.."OMFG I'm GOING TO **** MY PANTS IF I DON'T HEAR THIS THING SOON!"

Mikesn 08-27-2006 08:33 PM

Haha it's the same for me, though more because this is the first album I've had a chance to wait for. I only started heavily following metal around last November.

My review of A Matter of Life and Death is finished more or less, it should be up tomorrow morning for sure, or maybe even later tonight for you Europeans to wake up to in the morning. :thumb:

Surtr 08-27-2006 08:35 PM

Yeah, same here, I've only started up with Metal as of about a year ago too. I'm planning on doing a review AS I listen to it, so it's not so much a review, but a "What I thought of the album"and I'll probably just copy and paste and post it in here. :thumb:

Hour and a half..Ughhh..Time going so slow.

I'm from the US, and I love Metal...and sadly...you are 100% correct about that statement. So many people that I know that claim to love "metal" in fact have never heard an Iron Maiden song, or even don't like them in favor of these new crap underground hardcore/metalcore bands.

I am, of course the guy talking about the album.

Mikesn 08-27-2006 10:44 PM

I've been listening to it all day. Call me crazy, but... I'd say it's their best album since Somewhere in Time. By far...

I'm also eager to see where this whole Benjamin Breeg thing goes as well.
