Well I see the reasoning behind it, yeah, and it's a good idea in principle. I just don't have the willpower to get myself to sit through stuff I know I don't enjoy so much (like a fair bit of AJFA) to get to stuff I haven't listened to much and might like :)
I've been getting myself to listen to stuff I haven't really formed an opinion on yet recently anyway, but just by specifically going to them.
Ah, I see. I suppose I don't have enough willpower to get myself to listen to anything I haven't listened to in a while and so making a system for myself is the only way I can do it.
Speaking of a change of seasons... Yesterday was in the 50's and 60's. Raining. Power kept going out because of the wind at night. Today, it's ****ing snowing! The weather needs to make up its bloody mind and stop screwing with my sinuses.
This sounds funny but I just watched "The Day After Tomorrow" a few days ago, and the parallels to the eventual Hurricane Katrina debacle are a little chilling even though it's a Roland Emmerich film through and through. Particularly the Vice President Cheney lookalike saying "I have a meeting with the head of FEMA right now" right as he refuses to evacuate the population threatened by adverse weather, who are then caught and killed by it. The weirder the weather gets the more I get freaked out. |

Well that makes sense too. I guess we both win. NP The Awesome Machine - Eating Me Slowly |
Eep. One of my band's song's main riff sounds quite like Dio's We Rock.

 Lucas, in going through my collection alphabetically, I already heard one of your songs (Empty)

Yuck, that one's no good. I need to remix that one. How did you get to that one so quickly, though? By all rights it should have taken you a while. EDIT: Lunch and then errands. I may post once more before I leave, but if not I will pick up all dropped threads on this topic later. :) |

50% of my band's Metallica fanboyism means I get a similar feeling quite often :( N-The Smiths-Miserable lie(live) |
Ollie: nice job of destroying Blackened :p although it could be better than the original...
Hello, I'm putting this here just because, you know... Life is short. Very short. And death is quite an unexpected ride. For instance, one of my teacher's husband died a couple hours ago. Why do we get all creepy when people die?
I don't know. Remember kids, death is a weird thing.
What scares me most is the perspective of an afterlife. :-\
I'm writing an essay, and I'm really bad at it. I keep getting distracted, reading off on long tangents.
You give the impression of a very good student but you always say how bad you're at writing essays...
Ray's sportin the big 'tar
How come he got a big one?
Illmatic thats an awesome avatar. It made me laugh.
I find it irritating. I hate kids. And dogs.
I know that feeling. You play good, but you know there is more, but it just doesn't come out :(
How's the two hand technique going peter? Slow progress let me guess?
The next albums on my list are "A Change of Seasons" - Dream Theater; "Giant Steps in Fusion Guitar: A Tribute to John Coltrane" - Various Artists; and "A Love Supreme" - by Coltrane himself. It's proving to be a nice mix of different things so far.
uhh...why dont you order the albums by artist name? |
How come he got a big one?
Oooh er! He got into an argument with Sir Jason. |
What scares me most is the perspective of an afterlife. :-\
How's the two hand technique going peter? Slow progress let me guess?
Hey Stoic :) Yes the practcing is moving along slowly, but improving. I've wrote some own music that lets me practice the technique. I have been busy with school and stuff the past few days (esp. the weekend) so I haven't been on the keyboard too much. I'm going to record some drone stuff in a week or 2 I think. The doom project is moving along slowly too, but I don't want to rush it, so it will come when it wants to. np: Gorefest - Tangled in Gore |
Return of the Jedi is such an awesome movie.
I got down with my Piano and Guitar recitals to day, so all I have to do now for the rest of the week in my recital class is sit back and relax. What techinque Stranger? I might be able to suggest an Etude to you that woule reinforce the technique, and sounds pretty cool. |

I'm practicing on hand independence, I have some, but not enough to play difficcult pieces. I've only recently started taking lessons again, and now I see what skill I've lost over the years because of not practicing :( I played organ for about 2 years when I was 10. (I'm almost 20 now) after that I quit making music, and last year I've started picking it up, on my own, and 2 months ago I started lessons again:) |
anyone here seen Walk The Line? (the Johnny Cash film)
i'm going to see it tomorrow night with my g/f, is it any good? |

The thing Is its more about the love love story between June Carter and Johny Cash then it is about Johny Cash alone. |
Not really classical lessons, we do all kind of stuff during the lessons, but it includes some classical too. and by hand independance I mean, playing different rhytms or speeds with each hand without one hand influencing the other. Yeah, but you're only going as an excuse to get off with your lass for 2 hours

Yeah, it's all really good. What amazed me was that Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon did the singing parts themselves.
Yeah, but you're only going as an excuse to get off with your lass for 2 hours
Been there done that, I think. |
