Dredg - El Cielo
This is better than the first time I listened to this. |
Dredg - El Cielo
This is better than the first time I listened to this.
Catch Without Arms is a surprisingly good album as well. This is one of those bands that I really didn't expect myself getting into. |
I dig the new Blood Brothers so far. 7 tracks in and it's seeming just as a catchy as Crimes and heavier and more spastic in parts and then more poppy than Crimes in other parts. Basically, so far it seems like the best parts of Crimes and BPIP in one.
It's good. i don't really remember much from it thuogh |
North of America- "Elements of an Incomplete Map"

Semifinalists - Semifinalists
Autolux - Future Perfect Blondie - Parralel Lines Radiohead - Hail To The Thief |
What? Horrible?
I can understand if you don't like them, but their music hardly warrants a horrible.
Maybe not quite horrible, but they sure do annoy the crap outta me. |
Today I've listened exclusively to CDs I haven't heard:
The Gothic Archies - The Tragic Treasury (fabulous) Shout Out Out Out Out - Not Saying / Just Saying (unimpressive) Damien Jurado - And Now That I'm In Your Shadow (pretty good) Jeffrey and Jack Lewis - City and Eastern Songs (another fabulous) The Bird and the Bee - Again and Again and Again and Again (great, though it's just a single; these guys could turn into something stellar) The Clean Prophets - Praise is Poison (fun) Now playing: The Oxford Collapse - Remember the Night Parties 1 word review ftw |

Bark Psychosis - Hex
I'm on a huge post-rock kick, this album is excellent. |
currently digging In on the Killtaker by Fugazi. "Facet Squared" has such an awesome riff and chorus. Wow.
yesss. |
1 Frank Zappa 160
2 The Fiery Furnaces 28 3 Flying Saucer Attack 17 4 Gospel 14 5 Suicide 13 5 Deerhoof 13 7 This Heat 12 7 Man Man 12 9 Spacemen 3 11 9 Don Caballero 11 |
The stuff I said I would be digging. Mostly Yusef Lateef. His version of "First Gymnopaedia" is really pretty. I also listened to some of Killer Mike's new album thing which though not quite as pretty, is really cool.

Say Anything - ...Is a Real Boy
First 2 songs are eh but it picks up |

That's my favourite Fugazi album. I probably listen to "Facet Squared" at least once a week. "Public Witness Program" is almost as good, especially the bit with the handclaps. They somehow make them sound really sinister. |
Subtle - For Hero: For Fool
Yup, this. Just getting going with it, but musically, it's much more rock than I anticipated. It barely has a foot in hip-hop. Last night as I was writing about eschatology, Brian Eno/Harold Budd - The Pearl Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One |
I would think REM's Document would be more fitting.
Get it? |

Don't forget Stillmatic and It Was Written, among others. |
