Hey, whatever gets you through, right?

Yesterday I snuck away from the warehouse and played the banjo for a good hour and a half. Sooo fun, I need to buy one.

Thankfully, i work 7 minutes from a guitar center. I usually go every friday and just practice. Id go more, but I dont want that novelty to wear off. It hasnt after a year and a half.

Sometimes ill feel a bit bold and put on my IPOD when no ones looking. Thats always fun

ATM 03-14-2006 09:33 AM

Our store owns Guitar Center. We outsell every single music store in the United States!

Lord Abortion 03-14-2006 09:45 AM

Alright lads and lasses?

I'm tired again, but got in from school a little early, some lucky little wankers (Josh) got to stay off today...

I'm back from a fun day.
I had my lesson I had to improvise over chord progressions. He said I was good but I just had one of those days where I couldn't play as well as I wanted to.

kurrpt 03-14-2006 10:21 AM

ah

so, is that a good or bad thing

I know that feeling.
You play good, but you know there is more, but it just doesn't come out :(

Kinda a bad thing, I can play but not to my full potential.

Yeah, exactly like that.

its usually a head thing

the2stranger 03-14-2006 11:04 AM

^
When that happens to me, I just stop playing at all.
It means I have to get my mind on something else besides making music.

Cain 03-14-2006 11:17 AM

Sup dudes.

I post at work too. I'm a security monitor at the art center and there's wireless internet, so aside from the incredibly taxing duties of making sure that everyone who enters the building signs my little list, there's not a whole lot to do, so I listen to music, play video games, or post on MX.

NP: Rush - 2112

damn cain, you win again

ive had the uncanny ability to separate myself from reality. Guitar is just another thing on my list

Invicta_Veritas 03-14-2006 11:20 AM

Pretty soon I'm going to be able to quit work.......so i will have unlimited (for the most part) comp time.

Where you at with your albums, Cain?

 It'd be better if I had regular hours. I work for about seven hours every weekend day and not at all during the week.
Where you at with your albums, Cain?
I just started, and I'm gonna have to stop a little bit today to do an errand with my dad. Right now I'm on Rush's "2112" album, coming after last night, when I finished Van Halen's "1984."

I figure five albums a day will be pretty cool.

The next albums on my list are "A Change of Seasons" - Dream Theater; "Giant Steps in Fusion Guitar: A Tribute to John Coltrane" - Various Artists; and "A Love Supreme" - by Coltrane himself. It's proving to be a nice mix of different things so far.

I get off on weekends. One of the few upsides of this job
eh, ur prolly a college student, so they arse ram ya cause they know you can.
Yup, that's about the size of it.

Mr. Night, I edited my post on the previous page, in case you didn't see it.

Mr. Black 03-14-2006 11:33 AM

Yeh I did, It seems intresting. It'd be cool if you actually finished it.

Lord Abortion 03-14-2006 11:49 AM

Ah, I would probably get stuck on A change of seasons and not go any further if I was doing your list, Cain.

I'd get fed up halfway through Blackened and skip to something else.

I would manage it by doing over the top Hetfield impressions and making him sound even more of a hick than he actually is...that's a feat :p

 You people have no optomism. And I like that album!

The only reason I'm doing this is to give the unlistened parts of my collection more attention. I tend to just listen to the same old things.

I could give it a try...

Speaking of a change of seasons...

Yesterday was in the 50's and 60's. Raining. Power kept going out because of the wind at night.

Today, it's fucking snowing!

The weather needs to make up its bloody mind and stop screwing with my sinuses.

Well I see the reasoning behind it, yeah, and it's a good idea in principle. I just don't have the willpower to get myself to sit through stuff I know I don't enjoy so much (like a fair bit of AJFA) to get to stuff I haven't listened to much and might like :)

I've been getting myself to listen to stuff I haven't really formed an opinion on yet recently anyway, but just by specifically going to them.
